Tootall – I think mastery of language is an ability, rather than a knowledge of what is correct standard English. That mastery can be displayed through use of impeccable standard English, but there are many other ways of showing it.

We are at a loss to understand why this has been raised now almost six months after the event.

I’m guessing it’s because the 6 month time limit for lodging proceedings has now passed. No. A law came in providing (inter alia) that passengers with reduced mobility should be given seats appropriate to their needs, subject to safety and availability. The European Court of Justice has not ruled on whether this would mean chubbers getting freebies.

In America it’s common for airlines to charge for two seats if they’re needed.

Conversely, in a ruling handed down by the Supreme Court of Canada, the court determined obese people are entitled to two seats for the price of one.

An officer wants someone to back off. Just because a person (‘normal’ or otherwise)might back off from an assault does not mean it is fair.

Wot molgrips sed. It’s not about any kind of reasoned debate or discovery for some people, it’s just intellectual wieners really going to town on something because they think they are RIGHT. I guess they do that for most things though, not just religion. What do they achieve? A moral victory? A semi?

All this assumes people are aware of their ethnic background. Go a few generations back and who really knows? (Cue someone telling us they can trace every ancestor back to blah blah..)
