I knew a guy at uni who told people he was left an eight bedroom house by his Gran, so he let all his friends live in it free. In reality he rented the windowless basement room in said student house. 🙄

Later on, his office had a pool and a helicopter pad on the roof. Obviously, the place would fall apart if he wasn't there. The work was high level, mysterious, and important. His face was priceless when he saw me in the queue of people going in to start work in the callcentre. 😆

Paris is very compact and walkable. If you´re lost, you´re never far from a Metro station. Printemps and Galeries Lafayette are character-full department stores if you like shopping. A walk through Le Marais behind Rue de Rivoli will show you a nice quiet bit right in the centre, with old mansions and small winding streets. If it´s not raining the Jardins de Luxembourg are another nice stroll.

In the case of Begum, which concerned a Muslim school girl who was not permitted to wear the jilbab, the House of Lords found (by majority) that her right to manifest her religion under Art 9 ECHR had not been subject to interference.
