My policy when carrying bikes on a rack is to put your own bike on yourself.
Was in the States a few years back and had a newbie lass with us. Got up to 70 (smoothly) and clunk, off a bike went cartwheeling , here was me thinking ****, hope that's not mine, while cars behind and coming the other way dodged around it. turned out it was the gal's bike. felt a bit bad for not checking it before we left, but at least I hadn't put it on. buckled front wheel, bent bars etc so it was a hire bike that day for her. Not sure if I'd be confident in the frame strength anymore either..

Happy enough with the bike inside the Mondeo estate these days.

Nothing like a response like that to provide some ideas on which way to go here.

Kinda like the idea of getting the electrickery turned off and I'm getting a copy of the Notice to vacate and associated documents tomorrow to take into court myself to lodge a (section 21 is it called?).

In the meantime, I appreciate the advice of heavies etc, but better leave that until I see what the condition of the flat is like.

I'm also about to call the letting agent who he is supposedly getting a place with to give the the hurry up

Thanks heaps for all the replies. Might hand pick our next tennant:)

go steal some kit off your mate's clothesline. Just get his sizing first to make sure it will fit… works well for me:)

Yeah, Cedel Evans is riding like a useless ****. That’s coming frm an Aussie. That’s what you get year after year when you ride without a reliable team and don’t have enough mongrel in you.

Oh you can never get tyres or brake pads off him either..

Mondeo estate. Can fit 4 blokes and 4 (wheels off)bikes for trip to Wales pretty comfortably. Transporting your pride and joy inside your car? The only way to go IMHO.

Get the diesel. Like the Skoda Estate too- but being Mondeo man for the last 5 years has served me well..

Good luck with whatever you get.

Thanks heaps for all the advice guys. I’ll reply back to those I need to- I haven’t got my account set to tell me when I get a reply on a topic, so didn’t think I’d had a hit.

    Better sort that!

I’ve got a petrol estate- couldn’t find/afford a diesel when I bought mine. Fantastic roomy car. 4 broken down bikes, 4 blokes and camping kit for Wales trips. My fuel economy average, but diesel much better. safe enough. very stable on road. Don’t think you’ll regret it my man

make sure you have spare seals just in case you ding them up during the service. I did first time round and had them off the bike for 2 weeks waiting for newies…
