We had a couple of farmyard chickens for a bit, easy as pie to keep and never tasted better eggs.

Only got rid when the sprogs came along and we wanted to simplify.

Already mentioned but whatever fence size you build add a bit. Scared the crap out of the dogs when they jumped the 6ft fence we had.

Darwin himself believed in god and originally the church had no problems with his theories as it showed the splendor of the almighty.

Just waiting for the argument of the evolution of eye… 😉

Lets expand the deep and meaningful point.

The earth will be spinning long after the human race is dead and buried taking everything slowly back down into the mantle, breaking it down to it’s constitute parts and spewing it back out as lava… so does anything actually matter?

    @poly, you are probably right

, or possibly an obnoxious atheist.

Did anyone else watch “The Wonders of the Universe”? How insignificant is our little planet. I can see how people want to bring meaning or order to the ultimate Chaos that will be the fate of the universe.

Entropy eh, what ya gonna do?

Or longer flight times, it’s all relative.

We are lucky to have had one of the longest periods of tectonic stability in the earths history that has allowed life to evolve as far as it has, i.e. us.

Also, since Chris Columbus “found” the Americas (Although lots of evidence suggests the Vikings got there before him, along with tall white haired Europeans) The Atlantic ocean has widened by about 25m.

The earth is a dynamic place. What’s happening/happened in Japan is both horrific and amazing. We know people in Komono, Mie. Not sure how affected they are yet.

STW is the greatest magazine ever. It even beats hairy birds monthly.

That’s an idea. Everyone should wear helmets apart from cyclists.

I assume it takes a generation for it to not seem an issue. Look at seatbelts. Like a seatbelt in a car I feel wrong on a bike without my helmet.

no sadly just hope they dont choose a religous school

I teach in a high achieving C of E school. They don’t push the worship side, more the community aspect which is fine by me. Would have no problem with the sprogs attending. Although maybe not while I am still teaching there.

We had our twins christened recently and we are both atheist, although I would probably class myself as an aggressive agnostic and the wife insists she is just abstaining from the whole question of faith.

We did it to give them the option in the future. If they want to follow a religion so be it. Also for the mother-in-law(s) and to get our friends together to celebrate a bit.

Personally don’t think it will make a difference how we bring them up.

School’s have the ‘loco parentis’ issue to think about. It runs to getting kids home on the bus so why not to vests helmets etc for pupils who ride home?

What are the stats from Australia?

Hate to say it as it is a horrific event but I am literally about to start teaching Earthquakes to Year 8 on Monday. Couldn’t of had better grim timing.

It’s the Nuclear power stations not having electricity to pump cooling systems that is more worrying now.

There are far too many shiny bike bits for crazyness like that.

Queen says yeh, wear a seatbelt and don’t p*ss me off.

I just pulled a chunk out of my thumb ‘hardcoring up’ the bouncy bike with a bashguard for said Snowdon action on April 29th. Not sure what good it will do but it matches the crank arms which is the important thing.

Crushed mine playing cricket, diving for a ball. Took the rest of last summer and over the winter before it was right again. No real moving parts in there so it is hard to massage and manipulate, ended up having a bit of heat treatment from the physio, basically just needed to rest it, it will take time.

All the best bigG, Our twins are 5 months. No major issues for the pregnancy, she had a C-section at 36 weeks. They both had to go back in after 3 days, our girl was put straight under the lights and needed fluids for Jaundice, the boy just needed monitoring. If it’s anything like the wards in Bury it was like the middle of the Sahara, damn they keep those wards warm and we spent 3 days there. Already been mentioned that she is in the hands of the professionals, get some sleep and for some brownie points clean the house for when she gets back. 😉

I started riding full stiff round Thetford, think in the long run it made me a better rider as it forces you to ride smooth and pick good lines.

Big piece of rubber up-front always helps.

Sorry to jump this thread with a serious question but shouldn't 29ers have a higher (theoretical) top speed?

That's because I was travelling both faster and slower than you, got there 1st or possible never arrived and then pushed you over both before and after you had arrived.

    Time travel is fun.

Boy and girl 4 weeks old Friday, born 36 weeks.

    HERE

Had to go back in for a bit of fluid and to put her under the lights (jaundice) for a couple of nights, personally I think she has a sundbed fetish. 🙂

We have an Easy Walker Duo (ebay purchase), 73cm wide so the same as a wheelchair. Also got the mounts so the Maxi-Cosi car seats clip into it as they are too small for the normal pushchair seats even though they do go flat.

Still on a bit of breast and then topping up with formula. Does mean I have no excuse not to get up and feed in the middle of the night. Ditto on the pressure thing from midwives etc about boobs, even more so from the NCT class we went to, never made it to the second as they arrived. Only difference I can see is that the electricity consumption has gone up from the kettle and steriliser.

Currently looking at the possibility of a Kona UTE for future transport duties.
