Strip down like that with no blood. You must be some kind of bike maintenance god.

First thing I would have probably said to the wife, if she came home at that point, would be “this might require stiches”, while bleeding profusely into the sink from a knuckle wound.

Bit late on this but mine is now alfined (SS in photo)with Pikes, pretty much means I am set for most of this fine country and very little maintenance, bar the raceface BB interface crappy issue I can’t get right. Should invest in a torque wrench. The alfine and weighty pikes balance out the bike nicely, especially good when you leave the ground. Although having to get used to the back-end carrying a bit further than you expect when whipping about on singletrack.

Also the ziptie cable routers (which there are loads) don’t really work with the alfine routing, although I haven’t tried the different turny stop things to move the angle of the cable.

BTW, if you want to SS it on-one chain tug doesn’t fit due to bulginess of carbon forming without a bit of work on the grinder.

Taking it round the Gap in the brecons and cwmcarn in a couple of weeks for a proper test.

There is also the trail-dog fun you can have (if you train it right).

Came across a guy in thetford the other day with what I think was a pointer-esq breed. Did look kinda cool, dog taking the bends tight tucked in behind the bike.

NB-sorry to bring this back to bikes. 😉

    Dogs are great…

The best one is coming downstairs half asleep on a lazy Sunday morning and bare foot stepping in poo. That was fun.

We have a lab-cross-boxer and she is great with the kids (2yr old twins). Plus their immune systems are going to be rock solid.

Sorry BA never thanked you for this cheers. Might get out this summer, if we can sort the logistics with the kids.

Will they be inflated using a trackpump with a wooden handle? If not, I fear the air inside maybe of an inferior quality and affect your performance.

This thread just made my afternoon.

Shouldn’t really tell you about the trick of soaking the ends of swan vestas in petrol so the head goes like putty, then squashing that into the back of an air rifle pellet.

Don’t judge me, it was boring in the countryside with only a grifter to ride. Although that grifter was used to dispatch many a mixy rabbit.

Think I should have maybe looked at that colour wheel thing before putting my 456 together.

Some routes would be great, cheers.

Went to the Siera Espuna region in ’07 and had a couple of rides with some local (orange) people. If you get my drift 😉

Could be a part of the world I start visiting regulary, once the twins are a bit bigger.

Cheers guys. Folks have just got a place out there. I know the Spanish road riding association type people are based in Denia and figured there would be a lot of roadies.

Looks like it will be worth taking the bike at some point.

    Thanks again.

We recently bought a memory foam one from memory foam warehouse. King size, less than £200 and so much better than our old sprung one. Plus doesn’t make any noise from repetitive movement. 😉

At least the helmet law problem has been solved in the future. Although crank arm lengths have gone a bit short for my liking.

We have a Mk1 C-max with the twins, they are 15 months old and in the Tobi chairs now. Not sure about the new C-max but be careful about putting chairs in it, especially baby seats, between the moving rear seats and the false floor in the rear the only baby/base combo that worked was the most expensive thing on the market, the cabrio-fix maxi cozy thing. which we have a pair of for sale btw if anyone is interested.

We can get the easywalker duo pushchair in the boot, but then not much else. We have a topbox for big trips. It has been OK but personally in hindsight I would have gone for something bigger. Especially with the dogs, bike, bike gear etc.

The integraged blinds in the rear are good though, as is the mirror above the rearview that looks at the rear seats. also being able to completely remove the middle seat means we can actually get the pushchair in that space if you need the boot.

Can we honestly be expected to make an informed decision without a picture of the girlfriend?

    At school?

I’ve been threatened with a chair and swore at a few times but nothing like that.

I know it shouldn’t make a difference and it is probably due to different attitudes/drivers/being on holiday euphoria, but I have driven in the states and on the continent a few times and driving on the right just seems easier.

Did that a couple of summers back (and went onto Germany). It’s a great drive, monkey boy is right.

If someone has their indicator on behind you in the fast lane just pull over as soon as you can. It basically is to show you they are moving faster than you and want through.

We detoured through the centre of Paris. Glad I have a good idea of the size of my car!

People carry a yacht up the 3 peaks?… now thats a challenge. Unless it’s in a bottle, then it’s just an exercise is being able to carry things carefully.

I pushed fat back into PimpmasterJazz after he put a hole in his side with a BMX brake lever (knobbley ended type, punctured his body cavity I think), falling off it riding the clunker classic.

Good job because my rod brakes had started to fail and I was far to drunk to see the trail anymore. Bl00dy tequila at lunch-time.

Guy Fawkes night 1995 I climbed and bivvied on top of Snowdon with several equally drunk students. Cloud base was about 100ft below the summit with a full moon. When the sun came up it turned everything orange, glorious.

I’ll be riding with ir and several others on middleton b0llocks day and I will love it as it’s riding with friends, what more can you ask? 🙂

+1 GG, I run a 50 with wide bars. Plus learn to trust the big nobbles on the out side of your tyres. They will bite, or chuck you off big style. 😀

    Entropy is a b*tch.

Although I have one serious question. If the ultimate end of the universe is effectively just everything turning to vapour isn’t that ultimate order and not chaos?
