Wait a minute — supposing two bikes carried it together?

My lunchtime experience was one of dismay – I ubered an enemy spy for the first time

    HAHA! Ace!

Do you get an achievement for that?!

I snatched a quick round of CP_Well on my lunch break; i saw an Engineer set up a dispenser/tele exit/sentry underwater! He could stay there as long as he liked, as the dispenser kept his health up…

I’ve never seen that done before! and the opposing team had no idea where we kept spawning from!

Sound like a nutter to me. He has an air of Bond Villain about him, but a nutter none-the-less.

More to the point – if you wanted to practice gunning down loads of innocent people, there are better options out there; GTA, anyone?

Which is weird because I’m 5’8 and also ride a medium Pitch.

They’re longer than they look, medium pitch would be 18/19″ on other bikes (I’m 6ft and it’s comfortable).

I’m just under 6′ and ride a medium Pitch; bizarrely, i find it a little short in the cockpit. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, given it’s intended use. It has a long wheelbase, though…

I also ride a 456 – which is notoriously long in the TT.

Love it to the extent that may have to delete it. 39 as a medic my best, but it was gained helping spawn camp on dustbowl!

Anyone looking for a strange quick fix?

Say hey if you see me, TOG…

39 is a good score! Albeit whilst cheating 😉
I’ve been trying to use the Pyro, but i’m utterly useless. I can’t get more than about 8 points. 51 is my all-time best, as a Sniper! ***correction; 58 points, in 41 kills and 32 headshots! It’s not camping, it’s sniping!***

And i don’t use the quick-fix… The standard medi-gun is a much better choice, as far as i’m concerned. But i’ll have it, if it’s free!

    Duffman is my alias.

I racked up so many hours as a Sniper, that i had to force myself to use some other classes! Sniper is still my best class, though.

If there is a good Sniper on the other team, i quite often get drawn into informal duels – and ignore the objective and team in the process!

100mm on my steel 456. Has been that way for the three years i’ve owned it. I find by arms / wrists / brain suffers on really rocky descents, but that probably says more about the quality of my forks / riding than it does about fork travel….

    A perfectly useable setup.

As a few people have alluded to previously; the wages paid to a mechanic in a bike shop is directly related to what you are prepared to pay for his labour. And i disagree with the points above about the job carying a lot of responsibility.

Personally, i think 20k is a very good wage for tinkering with bikes all day. That said, you’d struggle to make a decent living on that much – especially when you have family commitments to pay for.

Any any comaprison to the wages of professional sports people is irrelevant.

There are many other options out there for a USB rescue key; Knoppix has always been regarded as one of the best for this.

I’ve been using Linux on my laptop for a few years. Ubuntu 10.04 initially, but then i had some problems with Unity on 11.04. After that i installed Mint 11, and i’ve never looked back!

If it’d run steam and have DX11 support, i’d install it on my Desktop.

They make frames not built from steel?!

    What heresy is this?!

    Duffer

I would suggest that they’re different generations of frame; they were re-designed a couple of years ago, in line with the CEN regs.

But judging by Brant’s replies above, that looks unlikely.

So you’re looking at buying an Inbred, but are worried about the weight? I’d suggest you’re looking at the wrong bike, my friend.

    Perhaps a ScandAl?

I’ve had a SS hack for a few years now, but i’ve never done any proper riding on it. This thread has just inspired me to get out there and see if i get on with this SS thing…

I’ve just been out and thrown some decent wheels on it, and i’ll be taking it out in the morning!

on-one aren’t really allowed to say this, and probably neither am i, but a ‘normal’ inbred is fine with 120mm forks.

They were revised a couple of years ago, in line with the CEN regulations. So it’s now certified for 120mm forks. The 456 passed the CEN tests without modification at 160mm.

So frames and indeed bikes will be available like a “normal” bike company

So, does one need to have played 1 to enjoy 2?

You don’t need to have played the first one to play the second. However, you’ll understand a lot more of the in-jokes that have carried over from the first one…. So i’d suggest you’ll get more out of the second having played the first….

You owe it to yourself to play the first one. It’s an all-time classic. And it’s only a few quid on Steam. And the black humor is timeless:

The Enrichment Center promises to always provide a safe testing environment. In dangerous testing environments, the Enrichment Center promises to always provide useful advice. For instance: the floor here will kill you. Try to avoid it.

My default answer to “What XC HT” threads is “Inbred”, such as this one.

Buy a Z68 chipset Mobo, not an H61. Better for future upgrade potential, if you want to overclock at all, of if you ever want to use an SSD for caching in the future. You might not want to, but they are better boards, and the Mobo is the most important part of the computer. Personally, I’d go Gigabyte, but then again Asus is fine too.

This is a very good point. If i remember correctly, the H61 chipset seriously restricts usability. It’s got no SATA 6Gb/s capability, for instance, rendering your SSD useless. Defiantly go for the Z68 or P67.

Cracking bike, and for £99 you really can’t go wrong. It’s a good quality frame, and it’ll take years of abuse. Don’t try to build it up light though, as it never will be. Put a decent coil fork on there, and some fat tires.

It’ll work best with about a 5-inch fork. You can go shorter (mine has been running 100mm for the last three years) but really the Inbred is better suited to this use.

Don’t expect a silky-smooth ride, but it’ll shrug off some pretty substantial knocks. I’ve never seen evidence of one breaking, other than frames that have been chainsucked to death (a result of poor maintenance). It’s a proper trail bike, and works best when treated as such.

    Hope this helps!

If you’re worried about weight, you’re looking at the wrong bike. A decent build will come up at 28 – 30 lbs mark.

70 hours played, and i’m starting to get bored with it. Still loads of proper tasks to be getting on with, but i’ve completed the main storyline for the Thieves guild, Mages guild, Stormcloaks and Dragons.

Finding myself going back to TF2 instead.

Dust off the playstation 1 and get Final Fantasy 7, best RPG that will ever be made.

    There it is!

You can also download a version patched for the PC. I don’t think i’ll ever get bored of that game.

Metro 2033 comes highly recommended, with quite a heavy post-war soviet bent. Never played it myself, mind. And you need a monster machine to play it on.

Skyrim is good (as mentioned above), as is Fallout 3 (also with a post-nuclear war theme). I’d go so far as to say that Fallout 3/New Vegas are the best RPGs i’ve played in a long time.
