Former long term major sufferer, now light sufferer.

Eccentric heel drops, foam roller, high volume injections, less activity but don’t stop completely. Stretching can actually make it worse in some cases.

I think his point was that if you subscribe for a month you get access to all the back issues online (including the one you want to read) for that month.

I had a long running Achilles problem and ended up being treated on the NHS with a couple of high volume injections in each over a period of 2 years, and a long period of eccentric stretches/ strengthening.

I still get a niggle now and again but it’s been really good, I don’t run as much as I used to so maybe that’s helped too.

    Read about them – https/www.google.co.uk/search?source=hp&ei=4XAZW_7sJsiogAatgoLQDA&q=achilles+high+volume+injection&oq=achiles+high+volu&gs_l=mobile-gws-wiz-hp.1.0.0i13i30j0i8i13i30l4.1386.5458..6751…1….688.2531.12j3j5-2……0….1…….3..0j35i39j0i67j0i131i67j0i20i263j0i10j0i10i70i249j0i13j0i13i10j33i160j0i22i30.SFKARXh87TQ%3D

Whatever anyone recommends, and whatever you decide on, spend a good few hours googling and looking through online shops to see if last year’s model can be had for a fraction of the cost,  CRC, wiggle, Westbrook’s, pedalon, lots of others, often have last year’s bikes with up to 40% off.

I’ve done a similar thing with thorn in a tubeless tyre mid-ride and was more disappointed in the sealant than my stupidity.

Decathlon £20 special has outlasted a rab here. Just as warm (depending on model of course) and less worry trashing a £20 jacket than a £200 jacket.

I don’t know how to add an emoji in here but I think the smiling sh*t would be appropriate today, although he’d only be smiling if he was waiting to go all in at the bottom rather than just gone all in at the top…

@poolman – SMT is a recent purchase and why there’s nothing in it at the moment, it had some stocks that should do well in the long term and its got a good track record which is why I bought it this time around.
Although who knows what’s going to happen next? How far are things going to drop? Will it be calmer in the coming week now the sellers have sold and the holders have held?
If only I hadn’t swapped that crystal ball for a purple ringle stem in the 90’s :-)

Roughly the spread is as follows, So base your answers on that.
70% Nutmeg risk 8 (s&s isa) fully managed. Probably won’t touch this.
20% Fundsmith. Probably wont touch this either.
10% B&G Scottish mortgage. This could go tits up but should bounce back.
Little bit of a cash cushion so I don’t need to jump out, but could use the cash for a house or some other investment to spread the risk a bit more.
I take the max CGT allowance out each year in non-isa accounts if they make that much.
Thing is, stocks have dropped but businesses are doing well so dividends should be OK.
Interested to know, what are your thoughts on property funds?

I read somewhere these are pretty good, and are pre-shaped for gripping…
    http://www.windowcleancentre.co.uk/cleaning-products/Gloves/Glacier-Perfect-Curve-Gloves.aspx

I think they also produced a range of cycling specific gloves at twice the price.

I’m interested in opinions too, and also in investment platforms such as hl, fidelity, etc, and comparing fees, flexibility, whether they allow cash pots incase the market goes pear shaped and you need to shift to cash or something less risk in a hurry…

I’ve been running lightweight tubes and sealant for a while instead of tubeless, schwalbe SV29a’s and sealant, works well. One puncture from a tear/slash in the tyre and tube that would have took out tubeless too, one in the rim side of the tyre that wouldn’t have affected tubeless, but much easier to swap tyres, wheels, etc. I don’t run super low pressure though and I’m reasonably lightweight.

Chicago’s in Stockton – ha ha ha ha, Doubled over thinking of the flack they used to get on a Friday/Saturday/Sunday night!!

First parmo shop I remember was “Steve’s parmesan house” in Stockton in 1994 (over the road from chicagos).. those were the days, that flashback brings back memories of far more than parmos :-)

Broke my shoulder in a couple of places 2 weeks ago in a hard fall off the bike, surgery just over a week and a half ago, pins and plates, I’ve been getting it out of the sling as much as possible to keep it mobile and using it as normally as possible bit it is painful. I’m surprised how much I can do with it already so keep the faith!

I don’t know if its helped but I’ve been necking multi vitamins, calcium (a.k.a mothers osteo tablets), cod liver oil, glucosamine, no painkillers except at night and I reckon i’ll be back driving, on the turbo and comfortable without a sling In the next week or so.

Its winter (almost), I’m focussed on being for for spring!

My buddy Hua has a transformers fansite and web shop at http://tfs-express.com and it has some pretty special limited editions and protypes on there.

The forums are full of useful information and most likely some approximate values for the items above.

Actually thinking about it, what are the chances of me being able to drive by in 7 days time?

Yes nedrapier, definitely ACJ, spent last night in A&E being told “this is super rare, its usually the collarbone!” and thinking “well that makes me feel a million times better”

I probably done the same as you – came off, felt my shoulder and realised something was wrong, felt along the collarbone, realised it was all in one piece, thought “oh, its just dislocated, easy fix”… Errr…. No!

I have just actually been reading your authored post on it after doing a bit more searching and it seems I’m in for a bit of a recovery period, I am on holiday from work this week and was hoping to be back at work Monday! Maybe possible if the pain does down as I’m a desk Jockey anyway, we’ll see…

Thanks, I’ll have a look through shoulder doc once I find out more about the repair they plan to do on Tuesday.
Wouldn’t care but this is the second break this year following a cheek fracture! Looks like this one will be at least as painful as that to come back from…
Still not a bad statistic though a little confidence sapping, riding a bike since 5, 43 now, 2 breaks in that time.

Westbrook are well known for huge end of season discounts, especially on scott and cannondale. They’re good guys and I’ve bought a few bikes from them over the years, helps they’re also my local :-)

How often does the oko stuff need topping up? The oko site says it lasts the lifetime of the tyre.
    Is it this one?

I’ve been using fenwicks in schwalbe sv29a lightweight tubes for a few years, it works very well and its not latex based so doesn’t dry out in the tube, I think it would be rubbish as a tubeless sealant though as its a bit thicker than stans and the like. Not sure if they make it anymore though…
Levers – Pedro’s milk lever I got free with mbuk about 25 years ago, great value :-)

Cheers. No racing intended, would it take 28mm tyres or is the clearance too tight?

More like they break your heart and empty your wallet, I have more ex-factory wheels than joan collins has ex- husbands :'(

I’ve tried all the locals and importers, but thought I would try here before spamming loads of shops with emails.
