I would be interested in this thread as well. We run a cic looking after a trail and organising dig days etc.

Another reason that open fires are inefficient is the huge amount of cold air that they suck into the room to feed the fire.
That’s why fireside chairs have a high back to stop the cold air rushing towards the fire from freezing your back.

On the other hand is there anything more satisfying than putting the wrapper label in the first bin bag of the roll

    Host here too
Airbnb in my experience will always offer a refund to the guest.
We had one guest who clearly had to leave early for other reasons . Made a mess , took some photos and claimed it was how they found it.
Airbnb sent them a full refund.
Difficult one to value though – seems like an inconvenience to me rather than a holiday spoiler but each to their own.

Construction industry has seen around a. 50% increase in costs over the last few years. Input prices have increased but my impression is that there has been massive profiteering from suppliers , merchants and contractors.
The industry has changed over the last 20 years from a myriad of small suppliers and merchants to bigger and bigger companies, verging on monopolies in some cases.

    I’m having the same issues
It looks like it’s hunting for days when the area is already downloaded in offline maps.
It’s a really poor app compared to ViewRanger
Have you noticed how slow the offline maps take to upload as well. This system makes no sense either – I don’t know why there is a maximum size.

    I’ve looked
    ViewRanger was great
Is maps is the best of the bad bunch

It could be a coincidence that the coolant sensor starts playing up on the way home but unlikely I think

    Thanks for the leads
The problem I had was that the car was showing some funny problems.
It was really flat on the way home then was showing coolant temperature too high although the local mechanic says that it’s not overheating.
Mercedes Benz vans Cardiff seem to be washing their hands of it.
I only took it in for the airbag recall – it’s 10 years old.

The waiting times are such that the free at the point of delivery is a bit of a myth. It is – if you can wait , otherwise all who can afford it are paying for private ops or treatment.
This is for routine treatments like knees, hips, hernias etc.
The waiting times are measured in years, not months

    Very hard work
Planning is essential to work out the best layouts for cuts.
Good cutting tools also important- I hired a massive tile cutter for the weekend . Calibrated tiles and a level floor is also important as is working out the best grout width for the tiles.
I found out that even porcelain tiles are not 100% square and exactly the same size.
It’s only a small tolerance but can be important if you want narrow joints.
You only get one shot at the title when laying the tiles.
As has been said before the leveller/spacers are good but only work with a proper bed and a level subfloor.
That’s why there is a shortage of tilers . Grouting can also be a pain if not experienced – clen too soon and the grout gets dragged with the sponge , too late and it’s a bigger to clean.

I heard somewhere that the new farm payment agreements have a small print that allow land access unless it affects farming practices (trampling crops etc) .
Not sure if true Bt sounds sensible when considering the amount of payments landowners get .

The route is by agreement with the landowner – gate can’t be unlocked as it stops motorbikes entering another area of the forest.

Had a open hernia op last December.
Was told to try and walk as much as possible afterwards.
Was back on the bike doing gentle spins after 3 weeks – just take it easy
Back to full activity after 6 weeks.
    But nothing strenuous.
