Can anyone tell me how to download a rides data off this?

I don’t seem to be having any luck with the supplied software.

I got some of the above, excellent value for the money. I’ve commuted all winter off road with these and have had no problems.

Make sure there are no food sources around like bird food. At this time of year rats are often transient and settle where they know they can get fed. We had rats in our garden so removed all of the bird food and the rats soon went.

I’ve just got mine in the post but it didn’t come with a wall charger. Is this the case for everyone here?

The Arkose 3 from Evans ticks all your boxes. I have had mine a week now and so far so good.

No. I basically took the wheels off and pedals to get it in.

I bought some wheel bags to try and keep the boot clean.

Like, I say once the seats are folded you have much more space than you imagine. Tiff Needell always said the 944 Turbo was one of his favorite cars as he had one during his early racing career and he drove it all over Europe with all his race gear in the back.

I’ve owned a 944 S2 for the last ten years. If you get a good one they are excellent cars and more practical than you think. Ours gets used everyday. We’ve driven it to Austria and back and even managed to get a mountain bike, a crate of beer, my cricket bag and my wife’s luggage in it.

You’ll need to get it serviced every 12 months and you can expect to pay on average £750 each time. Our car has been serviced by Strasse in Leeds since day one and I couldn’t recommend them enough.

If you look carefully there are a few 944 Turbo’s kicking about.

There is a good ownership network, there’s plenty of advice online and parts don’t seem to be an issue.

    Go for it.

I live in Huddersfield. It’s an easy commute to Leeds. Twenty minutes on the train or 40-60 minutes on the M62. I used to get the train to Leeds in the morning then get the train back to Halifax in the evening and commute back from there. There are a load of good off road options between Huddersfield and Halifax.

Property in Huddersfield is good value, its handy for everywhere, Leeds, Manchester, Halifax, Bradford etc… It has some cracking Ale pubs and a healthy mountain bike scene with lots of local challenges that are great fun. Google Colne Valley Challenge, Holme Valley Challenge, Pennine X to get an idea.

Have a look at the Pinnacle Arkose 3 from Evan. I got this recently and it was between that and the Boardman.

I’ve just purchased a Pinnacle Arkose 3 from Evans. They are currently offering a £100 of accessories for free so you can get your self a set of mudguards and a rack for £1000.

It has a pretty decent spec.

I have a Nexus 7 and was really happy with it until recently when I only started to get playback through one headphone when listening to music. I wouldn’t say its a common problem but there is evidence on the web of other people having the same issue. I’ve tried a number of different headphones as well.

I might have to take it back………..

I rode home from work as usual and had a blast.

The usual bridleways were turned into cascading streams and there wasn’t a dog walker or horse in sight. Great fun.

I’ve had a Tern D7 for about a week. It has the Shimano hub.

First impressions are that it is a surprisingly solid ride. It feels as if it needs another gear for pacey flat sections but the range is good enough for living in the Pennines where I am. The fold is neat and well engineered and its easy to fold down and up. The chain is completley encased with the BioLogic freedrive cover so you won’t annoy other passengers on the train when they rub up against it.

Its not as small as the Brompton in terms of folding but I imagine the ride is a bit more solid.

    So far, so good.

What type of riding have you got planned?

In defence of Northern Rail I have spent the last 18 months commuting with my bike on NR trains and have found all of the staff to be really amenable and helpful. On the train I was on we often had four or five bikes and the staff even moved passengers off the flip up seats to accommodate us.

I found the attitude of the staff helpful and the one time I got refused on the train because it was rammed the Conductor was very apologetic.

With NR you don’t have to book in advance, unlike Transpennine trains where you do.

A very well organised ride. I came home in 3 hrs 21. The wind made it tough today in places. Anyone know what the winner did it in?

    9 Mile Commute:

    Sealskinz Socks
    NorthWave GoreTex Boots
    DHB Roubaix Leggings
DHB Merino long sleeve base layer
    Gore Phantom Softshell
    Endura Waterproof gloves
    Aldi Skull cap

If it’s really torrential I have a DHB Event Jacket and Endura Event 3/4 shorts.

I use Velocity most of the time, Bob and Dave are good to deal with.

I really don’t what it is with the rest of the bike shops in the area, they’re all really miserable. Tried them all and given up on them.

I cycled home from work. The rain was biblical and I had to dismount at one point I was getting blown across the road into the traffic.

Another thumbs up for Event though, I had the jacket and three quarter length shorts on. They are both excellent.

Mind you I was wishing I had my winter boots on and waterproof socks….

    @headfirst

I'd go to the one at Waterloo. There was just a load of retired people wandering around in that one.

The cycle savvy were at the one in Town.

Too late, I've already plundered both of the stores in Huddersfield…

I bought a new bike last year and it came down to the P7 or the Altitude.

I managed to borrow a P7 for the weekend off a work colleague. This gave me a chance to ride it on my local trails where I do 90% of my riding. My conclusion as a result was that it wasn't quite right for me. I found it heavy on the long grinding pennine climbs. My colleague regularly thrashes it around Dalby and loves it and this is where I think the P7 shines.

For myself however long XC rides with long climbs I preferred the Altitude 30. It was lighter with a 140mm bolt through fork. So I bought that instead. Since then I've ridden it at Whinlatter and Grizedale and found it to be a joy to ride.

The spec on the Altitude was superior to the P7 and it also helped that a local bike shop had £400 off!

I got the DHB Event Jacket from Wiggle. It only really comes out in real downpours but it does the job well. I've used Event and Goretex and I reckon Event is the most breathable fabric.

I bought an Altitude 30 and I am really happy with it.

It's a great frame with the excellent Reba fork.

    I have an Altitude 30. I'm 6ft 1 and got the 19 inch frame.

I am really chuffed with this bike. It really flies uphill and floats over the technical stuff. It never ceases to amaze me how much more comfortable steel is. I thought this was a myth until I got this bike.

    I'd recommend it to anyone.

I've had a Altitude 30 since last Saturday and have almost done 7 hours of riding on it this week. I am really impressed with it. The fork is excellent, the brakes stop you on a sixpence and the frame is so comfortable to ride. I've moved from an alu frame to steel and the difference in comfort is amazing.

I managed to get £400 off as well so it's a great deal.

Great event and well organised. I would have killed for a drinks stop at the end of that climb from Hollingworth Lake!

I walked that last year. The couple in front of me rode it then I met them at the top and promptly dropped them and beat them by five minutes. Sometimes you have to be pragmatic!

I’ve just got an Altitude 30. I test rode a P7 Pro and found it a bit to heavy for the type of riding I do. The Altitude is a bit lighter and for the money it has a better spec.
