Over the years I’ve probably listened to The Bootleg Series, Volume 4: Live 1966: The “Royal Albert Hall” Concert most.

Just spunked 150 quid on a 105 drivetrain minus the cranks, can’t be bad.

Hi, I’ve been following your story for the last couple of days – I’m so glad your little one seems to be doing better, as has been noted they are strong little buggers. By recognising how sick he was and getting him to the hossie you saved him, kudos to you my man.

Sleep is good, gives the body and mind time to reboot..

My thoughts are with you, I’ll keep looking out for your updates…

theflatboy – I used velomine for my last set of road wheels, a23s on Ultegra hubs with dt champion spokes, they’ve been perfect so far (9 months) very good vfm, a trustworthy company.

I did it, albeit at 30. Those on my course where a mixed bag of ages, from straight out of school, to old fuddy-duddies. I’ve never regretted it, been qualified 6 years now and like the job most of the time. I don’t think id do anything else now. There are many paths to take in nursing that there are careers within a career.

It’s hard, satisfying work but worth it at the end of the day.

    Any questions just ask.

With a wife with post-natal depression, a new baby, household chores and freezing weather my cycling action has consisted of runs to the shops. I am itching to get back into the commuting routine with the occasional mtb explosion. Roll on warmer, sunnier weather……

    Seriously though, nice setup.

Have 29er version on back of a SS, very grippy, minimal slippage when out of saddle, not the fastest rolling however I suppose it’s not intended to be. Would heartedly recommend.

    32 hole would be sufficient.

You could use a regular hub (non-SS specific), easier and cheaper to experiment with gear ratios until you find what you like.

Shop around for the light 29er wheels. (merlin, crc, stw)

Crank length depends on many factors, height, inseam, whether you like to spin.

Shimano deore cranksets are great vfm, even 2nd hand.

Welcome to the obsession of bike building….

Had a Beer components eccentric (which I had to return as it didn’t fit my CAAD10), it was very well engineered and appeared to be a high quality bit of kit.

They do BB30 and PF30 versions.

Its a 4s, my wife has the same phone, although I’m not sure she’d be keen on my tinkering. Batteries seem to be pretty reasonably priced on Amazo.

wysiwyg, I’m across the pond in NY so posting is possible, but could be a pita for you. Would buying a couple of spares on tinternet and having a go myself be feasible? I have virtually no electrical skills.

    After messing around with bagless jobbies and cheapo bagged I finally splashed the cash on a Meile. Now, whilst hoovering, I find myself repeatedly thinkning;

    “this just oozes quality”

They are solid, well designed items that will last for years – buy cheap, buy twice. Yes.

I’d have to buy campag wheels; one, I don’t have the money and two the spoke pattern gives me the willies.
