My sidewalls have started weeping in the hot weather, maybe that could also be an issue for pressure loss.

Im having the same dilema, finding it difficult to find anywhere even close to Morzine, especially when going as a family of 4, the riding is good (i would prefer more singletrack style myself) but the family love the vibe of the town bars / resturants etc also the lifts/ multipass , and its so much more affordable compared with anywhere else in the alps, about half the price compared to our last catered chalet

i have the new boardman pro fs, dont let the 130mm travel put you off its a lot more capable downhill than my old 150mm heckler which it has replaced

Also would it be an option to get a new air shaft for the pike and run it at 150/160 to slacken the head angle, it seems fine as it is to me but how would that change things

Coming from a 2011 santa cruz Heckler this bike feels fantastic, i thought the heckler was a fun bike but this thing really makes me smile. Also i was planning on keeping the heckler for alps trips etc , but this actually feels better on the rough downhill trails locally, so not sure what im to do.
