Take em off and put them in the dishwasher.

    Works a treat.

I always quite fancied Michelle as well.

I've stopped watching Eastenders now – it was having a bad effect……

    Is Ethel still alive?

The reason I ask is, well, you know, I would……

You'll be fine. Just take insurance and proof of purchase (dated) with you. If plod stop you explain the situation.

They're great. Heated seats are ace too.

And I agree about the insurance. Make sure your glass is covered as they are stupidly expensive to replace.

I quite fancy being on the news…….

I killed Wacko Jacko by force feeding him peanut butter (knowing he was peanut allergic). I did this at Neverland, in the wardrobe of his master bedroom, at 9:32pm.

I won't however, name the brand of peanut butter used – so the rozzers have NOTHING!

Hmmmm, I know it's each to their own and all. BUT – I don't like him either.

His books are worse than his TV shows. They're all a bit too much of a personal journey – HIS personal journey. "My gran was lovely so on Mondays I cook pie" type of thing.

I went off the TV shows (and forgive me if this wasn't him) when he had some minor celeb on and spent 15 minutes raving about how great beans on toast are.

Now – don't get me wrong – beans on toast are good. But in 15 minutes I could have cooked and eaten them myself – rather then listen to him twaddle on about them.

To be fair though – I'm not a great fan of celeb chef books. I'd rather just buy "Indian Cooking" or the like. Cheaper and it's where the celebs get their recipes from anyway…..

I was the sort that never left the ground, and then one day saw WA (ChocolateFoot) popping some cool jumps in Woburn and thought "it'd be nice to do that…."

I could not do it on my own – I needed to be told. Maybe I was dim (LOL) or maybe I just did need the correct advice. BUT, you will learn faster if you get someone that understands jumping to help you.

It's not hard – and you can progress quickly. It is really cool being able to hit a jump on a trail without worrying, panicking, or getting generally put off the flow…..

    DO IT!

    Stiffee.

Although it depends how well you ride. Worked with a guide there about 5 years back road an MsIsle all season and could whip guests on Demos down the DH runs.

I'd worry about the Handjob surviving the season.

Borrow / hire a road bike if the urge takes you.

I've lost the 4lbs I put on in the US last week – so I'm stuck where I was.

But at least I've shaken off the burgers / bacon and eggs / martinis / beer that make my life up when I'm over there!

To be fair – it's actually helping me just to remember to weigh myself each week.

I can keep track of what I'm losing – but normally when I (try to) diet I end up forgetting to weigh myself regularly and just carry on as a lard bucket.

So even just the reminders are really appreciated 🙂

    What Mr Flow said…..

    Go, enjoy.

Stay off the Morzine and Les Gets Dh runs and just enjoy everything else the area has to offer.

There is sh!t loads. Just talk to the locals, or hire a guide 😉

Local Polish car wash twice a month.

But – I drive a lot of miles, so keeping the windows and lights clean and the inside decent makes it less stressful.

    I like a clean car.

Currently I live in a house with poor facilities to wash it myself. I ain't lazy, and would happily do this each week. It keeps glass and paint free of corrosive dirt, and makes you feel better about how much money you lose on a car just by owning it.

    No idea mate! LOL

It's all still a mystery to me. All I know is my garden won't be overlooked and I can see nowt but trees.

I really do not know the area at all…..

Not Aston Jedi – Hertford Road.

But it's all SSTC at the moment so a long way to go.

DD – I am hopeful that St Evenage will have some kind of club for Jag driving Victor Meldrews. If not, then I'll set one up 😉

No worries Bullet – it's all good.

I've put an offer in on a house south of St Evenage – accepted, and just waiting now.

I was horribly dissappointed by some of the houses. Gorgeous, wonderful homes, but 5 beds, and one parking space – it's mad! There were vans and cars everywhere!

Where I am (hope to be!) is close enough to work and close enough to the shops of town to be OK.

Old Welwyn is just horribly expensive unless you want to live in one of the ex-Council properties, which kinda brings me back to the above……

It's just me, so I don't need a huge house. So I'd rather spend my dosh on location. The house I've offered on has off-road parking for lotsa cars, and sees nothing but trees from the gardens. I'm happy. St Evenage has suprised me happily 🙂

Hmmm, don't know about the riding there but I have been to Garda a lot and one thing it isn't is cheap…..

I think Easyjet fly to Verona which is an hours drive from Garda.

    Hmmmm,

This is a difficult one. Whilst I appreciate people are self employed, I also think that little thought is made these days to others in the community.

A "nice" neighbourhood can quickly look less nice with lots of vans parked around…..

I've nothing against free enterprise, but sometimes both sides of the equation can be thoughtless. My personal experience from the past was of a nice place where everyone parked off road, and only had cars, ruined by some knob in his transit who insisted on parking kerbside and making a pain of himself.

I know this'll get me flamed but vans just make a nice estate look like a gypo camp. Don't like it, never will. Works vans are for work, not for use as home transport. Sorry….

    They're all good 🙂

Did the Focus come with two 2.0 TDCI engines like the Mundano? If so make sure you get the high output one (the Mundano was 130bhp at high output). People don't want the lower ones so selling on is a pain.

But – I know little about Focus' so I may be wrong…..

As said above – the mileage isn't a problem IF it's been serviced…..

It's all gash. I've been offered a job again this year as a guide in the Alps but I won't take it for two reasons:-

A: I earn more money in my other job
B: I don't want to get sued for doing something I enjoy and hoping I've instilled that enjoyment in others.

I did casual (unpaid) guiding work in the Alps last year and that is all. No commitment and no risk. I let the client ride ahead of me at all times so I can't be responsible for leading them into trouble. Everyone I rode with enjoyed their time (and it's not me blowing my trumpet – we just had a good time!).

I'd like to think (hope) that most of the people on here are not ambulance chasers. But – their families might be. And I guess my worst fear is being stood in some Court being grilled by a tearful wife and hateful kids as to why I took Mr X down a slope he couldn't ride.

Accidents are accidents, or at least they were until the American legal system was invented…..

    ToolTall, that's a bit harsh.

I am happy to take responsibility to lead a ride. Done it loads of times in the UK and the Alps where I have worked as a guide.

BUT – I now won't take the responsibility for being sued by some ambulance chaser. It's different.

I've patched peoples wounds, fixed peoples bikes and carried peoples kit when they've bonked. But I have, as yet, managed to avoid being sued.

I'm just a guy who rides, who is happy for others to come and enjoy a day with. I don't need hassles more than that.

As for qualifications – I don't agree with (m)any of them. They are self appointed, self certifications, that mean little in the real world. It's one of the reasons why it's so hard to work as a guide in the Alps now.

Experience and temprement are hard to qualify – but are, IMO, the most important parts of life…..

And besides – as I said above – a qualification is just something the lawyers would use against you…..

Master Jedi – I have ridden the Ewok Village many moons ago so yes, being close to Chav Central is a good point.

Andy – I never mean to be offensive – I'm just, er, blunt…… What's poundland? I am an utter (s)nob so shopping in Argos still seems a bit, well, er, cheap….. It's not that I'm Hyacinth Bucket but I'd rather wait a year and save up for nice furniture (as a for instance) than buy cheapo stuff from Argos etc. It lasts longer and looks better and makes me happy 🙂

I did see some VERY nice houses in St Evenage as well – just not on the more modern estates.

As for the Van comments. I lived in Bracknell for years. My neighbour was a van driver (lwb Transit) and insisted on leaving it languishing outside our house instead of his. He was a **** of the highest order and it put my off people bring their work vehicles home with them forever….

There's nowt wrong with tracky bottoms – but not for going out in – which is where the masses are distinguised 😉

Hora – I think the basic risk is as follows:-

If you offer to lead a ride, and people kill you, then it's understandable and you cannot sue.
