I’ve lost count on how many SC’s I owned by to insult YT when no other manufacturer has been fault free is patently wrong. Plus ‘buy cheap’? LOL. So we should spend 5k on a bicycle now?

No of course £3k is a lot of money but when its compared to a £6k nomad it is cheaper, and they have been unlucky to have quality issues with the Capra when the nomads haven’t had any issues, (AFAIK anyway). I also appreciate that spending an extra £3k just to not experience a potential problem is a bit daft.

Plus, I’m not making it up – they had a big recall and issues with frames didn’t they?

I have ridden a capra briefly and it felt identical to a nomad in terms of shape — i would get one if i could get it from a shop but you can’t so i wont (didn’t)

I have the Thule rear carrier as well (its in my pics) and i really like using it, but i keep the roof bars on the car all the time so i don’t have to faff about putting it o, and also you just can’t open the boot on mine even with it tilted – when i had a 3 series BMW, that was perfect because the window of the boot could lift up. I really was hoping that on the new Superb they would have added this as an extra given that the saloon boot is so clever but they didn’t

only other thing is i like carrying my bikes on the roof and its a long way up there on a people carrier

I worked for an Austrian company and there is some weird tax benefit over there for having a seven seater car so all the guys out there had them for that reason but actually liked them a lot too. They do feel a lot bigger inside than my car thats true. If i had more than two kids i would definitely have a 7 seater, and probably a galaxy, but i prefer the ‘car’ feel of an estate over the minibus to be honest.

The leather seats are a lot nicer on long journeys than the pretend suede/leather ones i had in the last superb i had

    droppinneutron

    That’s a minibus of course it’s bigger!

Small? Compared to what? Build quality comparable to bmw and audi so what’s not to like

    droppinneutron

Pretty sure the seats do go flat if you lift the seat but first you know.

I would also consider the Octavia as said above the boot is the same size you just lose the rear leg room (and it’s not as comfy on long journeys to be honest). Agreed about the headlights they are the best I have had in any car.

If only the rear window lifted up like on a bmw I had…

On my second Superb-brilliant family car and bikemobile. When I started new job they gave a budget of £32k and wanted me to have a bmw or audi-I have had 3 of each and I really didn’t like any of them so I went for another Superb instead. I have the Greenline and it just goes and goes your hardly ever filling the thing up.

As said above the leather electric seats are a lot more plush and you do want the top died sat nav – I have the elegance model which has everything you would need.

Problem though when getting it out my daughter spotted it, she’s never heard of scalextric before but insisted we set it up and has since spent the last two days building different tracks and racing anyone who calls around!

i have experienced this with groups of the little turds hanging round near our house smoking drugs and swearing and picking bricks off walls-lovely little Angels they were not! No amount of talking to them worked and they got worse and worse until one of them ended up in prison for something (not for long enough mind).

Maybe I should have taught them how to do a wheelie on my bike before it got knicked out of my garden (I wonder who by…)

Project you can of course write what you like but you just sound like ridiculous to me-keep up the good work

I have been running 36t on 1×10 for about 6 years now (1×9 prior to its invention) – you get used to it after a bit and i haven’t yet met a climb i can’t do (eventually). i do do a lot of squats at the gym, though…

When your trying to sell something I don’t see the point in getting precious about the language used-you need to read between the lines not everyone is a skilled negotiator and the line ‘what’s your lowest/best/cheapest/worstest/most brilliant price’ should be great news to a seller as its a clear signal that they are interested.

As for someone being ‘human excrement’ because they dared to ask a second hand car salesman his lowest price? No ironing there at all!

Amadeus how is someone asking ‘what’s the lowest price’ not them just beginning the negotiation with you? It’s isnt a ‘demand’ it’s a pretty simple question. Your answer of ‘best for you or best for me’ is not that open a question as it really has only two answers. You could move things along by, for example, recommending them a lower spec (cheaper) product if they want to spend less and then begin ‘selling’ the product they are actually enquiring about in the first place. This gives you the chance to even push their budget and maybe sell the next model up, based on its benefits, or something.

Amedias-there is a very easy answer to your witty retort though isn’t there? When they ask you that question you should be happy as its a sign they are interested in buying and it gives you a chance to negotiate a deal
