Aye I noticed loads of wee tied bags lying around. I assume they’re full of dog shite. Why go to the bother of bagging it, just to leave a bag full of shite!? There are also loads of shite parcels hanging from trees. Some folk are mental. The Telford/Roseburn cyclepath right up Water of Leith to the Pentlands is just as bad for it.

I was up CH last weekend and noticed this problem too. I’m not talking wee branches here, some trails had great big logs put across them that I couldn’t shift by myself.

They’re not even bits of trail where walkers would be, they’re on really steep overgrown/rocky parts.

They definitely hadn’t fallen naturally. Not unless they fell and managed to crawl over the trail.

I find the amount of dog shite more annoying though. My bike was reeking of shit the next day.

Sounds brilliant, I might head for Beinn Dearg and Carn a Chalmain tomorrow if the weather stays like this. We spent the day doing the 3 Beinn a’Ghlo Munros. I wouldn’t recommend it to be honest, the cycling to hike-a-bike ratio was a bit crap. Still had an amazing day though.

The ascent up Airgiod Bheinn and descent down Carn Liath were both fairly mental. There are some photos over on Trail Scotland if anyone’s interested

Are you going to this Chris? I’d be up for it. Would have to go for a pint first though…

Cheers! Ended up doing a circuit of the 3 Beinn A’Glo Munros. Was a pretty epic day out. Probably the last epic before winter descends on us and the world ends

Doesn’t sound ideal. Starav is out then. Any other suggestions? Has to be in the west, seeing as that’s where it looks like the bearable weather will be

Has anyone ridden Ben Starav? Thinking about heading there on Saturday but I haven’t walked it so unsure how possible it will be to ride down.

That I’ve ridden – Ben Lomond. The Cobbler path from Beinn Ime is quite tricky, but no where near as insane as Ben Lomond. Great fun!

I don’t read these forums much but if you email me nearer the time or post something over on Trail Scotland I’m sure I can get a small army of friendly helpers for you 🙂

You should all be more worried about all that asbestos under ground inside the Cold War Rotor Bunker up on top of the hill

Dangerous as hell, but…A good explore

It was until some thugs reversed a van full of tyres down to the lower levels and torched the place. Now it’s just wet, cancerous-particle ridden hell hole. Which is a shame.

Worth visiting if you’re into that sort of thing but be careful of the wrecked floors and definitely wear a suitable mask.

Pg – I cant find those pics either. Dont know whats happened.

I took those photos while helping bigthunder build some of the bits. The previous one was directly linked to my Photobucket.

I pulled the photos from my Photobucket and deleted the thread on Trail Scotland as I can’t be arsed getting involved in anything contentious or possibly illegal.

The linked image shows the base of cement as it was being built which was subsequently buried and covered over with detritus.

It looks 100% natural. There’s no way anyone would know there was cement under it.

Hi! I MTB in the Pentlands a couple times a week and would love to help out with any work that needs done. Let me know if anything comes up.

    Thanks,
    David
