Take heed of dekadanse for he speaks wise words :) Round here BT have been promising fibre in the next 3 months since 2012. The dates keep slipping, apparently due to “technical issues”. They even tried to say that when the retirement homes were built the developer should have provided it.

I can only dream of those speeds. On a good day I get 2MB.

Best advice I can give is to move to the same village as your local MP. For some strange reason his village whilst being smaller than ours and further from the exchange has great broadband.

Is the bluetooth on your iphone BLED – as that is what the wahoo one uses?

The wahoo just sticks on the crank – no opposing dongle to put on the bike.

I think so, at least Wahoo list my phone as a supported device. Like teh idea of no magnet as well

Has to be Bluetooth as I’m linking to an iPhone

I’m with Moses on he questions. For example I have a Dahon but have never used a Brompton so answered Dahon hinge but not for a position of experience..

Again with the wheel size issue the bigger the better from a ride perspective but some rail companies (south west trains) have a maximum size of wheel which limits the choice somewhat.

Friend of mine is back skiing after a single reconstruction so as snowboarding is supposed to put less stress on your knees you should be ok. But every case is different so check with your surgeon

Oh, I was running a 26 and a 29er, had a box of spare tubes all rolled up. One day I had a great idea I’d write a 9 in yellow crayon on all the 29ers to make them easy to find.

Took me a while to workout what you did wrong there

Of course the original problem is crying out for a better solution. Now, if only someone made a device that would physically connect the the gear selector with the bit that actually changes gear, perhaps a piece of wire pulling against a spring, then we wouldn’t have problems like this

Haven’t used a Maxx D so can’t comment but I bought a Toro last year and it’s what I need. If this year’s model has been upgraded I think you’ll be fine.

Hope your son’s OK and this hasn’t put him off cycling. And nothing excuses the actions of the dog owner. But sometimes accidents happen. To use the STW clich?, what if it had been a child that had run out in front of him? The other child’s parent could equally argue that your son was out of control given that he couldn’t stop safely

Strava also shows your start time so if you add that to the time into the ride that you were at that point that will give you the time that you were there.

Then it’s a matter of looking at the file in a text editor for that time, taking the lat/long to show that you were there.

I’m very pleased with mine. Good run time, bright light and nice beam

I use a digital one that I got from Halfords for about £15. As Oliver says it’s a matter of preference and conditions and it needs to be repeatable.

Once you get used to it you’ll know that 10.5 psi or wherever is your “sweet spot” and you’ll be able to adjust pressure by “squidge” and dispense with the gauge.

Rode a Stache the other week and would get one straight away if I didn’t already have a fatbike and a hardtail 29er. But as it fits in between the 2 it would be a bit of an extravagant purchase. Plus the wife would kill me*

If I had to have just one mountain bike 27+ or 29+ would be it though.

*and then she’d go on to sell my bikes for what I told her they cost.

Mine lasted about as long as Northwind’s before it seized.

Just done a quick visual check as I’ve got both a Swift and a B17. I’d say the saddle position is pretty much the same on both saddles.

Also be aware that the Swift and the B17 are different saddles. The Swift is narrower and a lot firmer. I find both comfy but YAMV.

No! There’s a one-way valve in the way, I would hope.

No, the pump fitting holds the valve open surely? Otherwise why is when I press a button on my pump (Rockshox) does it let the air out of the fork?

Yup, got a ride in and walked the dog before the rain. This afternoon I shall mostly be building an ark.

Really depends what you want to do with it.

If you want navigation/routing/mapping then a Garmin is the way to go. If it’s just logging where you’ve been and a display of distance/speed etc. I’d stick with the phone, get an external battery and put a RFLKT on your bars to display the data.

Yes, using a longer stem on my road bike eased some back pain. So I expect, depending on relative sizes it could also cause it.

However you’ve changed a lot of variables: stem, bars and seat post. Going to a straight post will have decreased your reach effectively shortening your stem. Similarly wider bars will effectively lengthen your stem as you’re leaning forward more. I think I’ve got the effects right? But each change will affect your reach and position.

I’d change one thing at a time, get used to riding it, see if it’s comfortable and work from there? Ass you seem to want a dropper and Oder bars I’d keep that and switch stems around

May be psychosomatic but I definitely feel better after the ride if I have electrolyte rather than just plain water.

Also, having just returned from there, Greece isn’t the bargain people might think it is, at least in the main tourist areas. That may all change if/when a decision is made on their debts…

If it’s got the same EBB as the other Singulars then it does. Mine have all been trouble (and creak) free. I’ve only needed to adjust when changing the chain if I’m running singlespeed.

I did it on my singlespeed 29er with 32:18. So you’ll be fine with your hardtail as it is I’d have thought

Just be thankful they’re not selling bloody stupid clown fat bikes.

Someone feeling a little “inadequate” in the girth department? :)

Anyway the good news is that you can relax because they do appear to have one Go Outdoors Coyote and weighing in at a “svelte 22kg” who could resist?

SIDS on 42 was my LBS when I lived there, Toga/Gotham bikes is also worth a visit.

Mind, it was 5 years ago that I was there.

Regular type earbuds on a short cable to a light little square that you clip on. Keeps the bit in your ear light (so less prone to falling out), gives you handy controls and does away with the snagging/pulling cable to my phone.

Thanks – look like what I need, just ordered a pair!

I’m not an audiophile, and I don’t usually notice how good or bad headphones are, but the plantronics ones really are noticeably shit.

I’m also not an audiophile so that was enough to dissuade me. Thanks!
