If your Cannondale will take the wider tyres then I’d say yes.

Was on the BHF ride last weekend, very flat with the exception of the hill up to the South Downs Way. My biggest problem on it was boredom 🙂

Another question on this. Will Stans No Tubes Bontrager 29er Tubeless Kit[/url] work on my Mavic TN719’s or is there something different about Bontrager rims?

Had a wheel built up by my LBS. As part of the deal they said “bring it in after a few weeks and we’ll check it doesn’t need truing”.

    You could try that approach.

What a great day out. Plenty of encouragement on the route.

Finished in 7:10 on single speed, could have done with a longer gear than 32:18 on the Link

I did 60 miles on Sunday morning (coincidentally as part of my training for a BHF ride) and my ‘normal’ riding sounds like yours.

I had scrambled eggs on toast and another piece of toast for breakfast and then a Powerbar about 2/3s of the way round (2 hours in).

But as you’re doing it at night that may affect your metabolism….

My #1 whinge with ST is where they print white font on a black page.

The font rendering is awful, esp. on the right-hand side of the column. It’s a real strain for me to read and often I just give up

Some articles I’d like to read in the latest issue but can’t 😡

Dodged a bullet today. Rode my 29er and nothing exploded. I know I’m on borrowed time but I like to live on the edge

    What gravity-slave said.

You’ll be sitting in one place morevon a road bike than MTB so fit needs to be right fot comfort

Just in case Sam’s still lurking, any update on when the Medium Swifts will be back in stock?

The Singular newsletter today said October I think

It’s OK you can put a proper size wheel on the front 🙂

I averaged around 21mph, but some git was drafting me for around 6 miles, and wouldn’t overtake or get further than 6 inches from my rear wheel.

Just to pre-empt the I should have dropped him , 1. I am fat, 2. I am slow and 3. I had already done 10 miles at that point and was starting to feel like I was going to have a heart attack.

What’s the score on drafting; should people do it?

Had an easy run in today, managed to draft someone for at least 6 miles at 20mph+ 😆

Seriously I think it’s rude to draft a stranger and in town I think it’s dangerous. At the very very least they should take a turn at the front.

BTW 21mph is not slow, I’d be overjoyed to average that sort of speed!

Does that crank need a pre-load cap?

If you haven’t fitted that they may come off again….

With ss you’re always in the wrong gear. With gears you’re never quite in the right gear :).

I’ve just converted my ss to gears but will swap between the two.

They’re different experiences. Not better just different. The same ride has different aspects depending whether I have gears or not

Just switched from singlespeed to Alfine 8 and it’s great!

Don’t notice the weight difference at all – the ability to spin rather than grind up hills is great.

Having said that I still love single speed as well so I’ll switch between the two as the mood takes me

    Main problems I see are:

Rep ing the battery for charging. That would be a show stopper for me.

How do you change where the beam is shining? Twist the bar? Fine if it’s a totally flat bar….

I like my clip on lights because I can transfer from bike to bike, take inside for charging, redirect easily and take off in daylight.

I had a Ribble – great value bike for the money. At the time I couldntvfi d a better deal at the price. Service was OK, not great but never raised mybblood pressure.

I would have recommended the SE Lager but I’ve just had a look at the current incarnation on their website and it’s truly horrible. I’ve got one that’s badged as a Dawes and it’s a great bike, very comfortable, I did my first century on it
