    BB7. The road ones obviously.

This. Great brakes, really happy with mine. Easy to set up, great stopping power and modulation.

Friend of mine used them, worktop wasn’t even level! None of the doors shut properly and the drawers stuck. Avoid at all costs!

Just buy a pair of 20 quid Sony’s problem solved.

    This.

Unless you’re a regular long distance flyer it’s not worth shelling out a huge amount.

I had a pair of Sennheisers but they broke and I replaced them with some cheap Sony ones. The Sony’s weren’t quite as good but as I fly long haul twice a year now compared to when I used to do it weekly they do the job. Even when not connected to an iPod they filter out enough of the plane noise to make things more comfortable

I’m busy that weekend. Any chance you could move it to the following weekend?

I did a side by side test before I sold my 240.

I’d say noticeably brighter – of course that’s a very subjective measure, how it works for you on the trail is a different matter…

Exposure Joystick – Rutland Cycling were doing them for about £80 a few weeks back. Have a look and see if they have any left.

My setup is Lumenator on the bars and a Joystick on my helmet.

Probably because the Garmin uses barometric data whereas Strava will estimate your altitude based on your track and it’s mapping data.

from my vague recollection of thermodynamics and some google (including back to here to estimate the volume of a 2.3″ tyre on a 26″ wheel is about 5.8l. Not really going from 35 to 55 (unless I have ballsed up badly) wont do that much.

    (P1*V1)/T1 = (P2*V2)/T2

Just need to remember the units to use…

Back of the envelope calculation suggests that the pressure in a tyre at 30 psi would only increase by approximately 2psi for a 20C rise in temperature so not likely to be due to the heat expanding the air.

Note I assumed that the tyre would stay at a constant volume – as it would probably stretch thne teh pressure rise would be less

able length aside is there a difference between the long and short cable versions?

And can I use the C-C clip to attach a long cable version to my Joystick?

To answer my own question. Yes there is. Light appears to be identical but the cases are different and the long cable won’t fit into the C-C clip.

    Light’s great though!

Haven’t tried Woodchippers but I’m a big fan of midge bars! the only drops where I’ve really used the drops! find I spend about 80% of the time on the drops. Mine are on a single speed too but I don’t have any problems climbing, at least not a problem that I can blame on the bars :). Guess it’s a personal thing and depends on setup: where you put the brake levers on the bend and the angle of the bars.

Singular Peregrine: Enough clearance for 2″ tyres with mudguards or take the guards off an put knobblies in.

Mounting points for racks and can be run as singlespeed or geared with internal or derailleur gears.

Plus it’s really comfortable and great handling

If the Ridgeway is anything like a few weeks ago (bearing in mind the weather recently!) … then theres some serious mud up there in places (Wantage to Goring).

I’d say it’s actually worse! Hasn’t had a chance to dry out at all. Was up there yesterday, standing water in lots of places.

No problems with the EBB on my Swift, great bike just felt right as soon as I sat on one. Actually rushed back from the test ride to put a deposit down. Haven’t regretted it

STIs will work fine, had that set up on mine for a while. I like bullhorns, especially in town. Only downside compared to drops is the lack of different hand positions, but I’ve done rides of over 100 miles on bullhorns fine

If you need to take it on a train you may need to check on the wheel size and the train operators rules.

When I last did it South West Trains didn’t allow wheels bigger than a Bromptoms – don’t know how enforced it was as I got away with it the few times I tried

Surly with a freewheel. When funds permit upgrade the freewheel to White Industries

Bigger problem may be with security. I’ve had a pair of pliers confiscated – my own fault I forgot that I had them in my bag – and they queried a set of lock on grips once as well.

They very Marmite, folks either love or hate them!

I’m a fan and have a mixture of B17s and Swifts. Hard to choose between them for comfort, again it’s a personal thing and very much dependant on the shape of your backside.

My surgeon, a cyclist, said 6 weeks until I was riding and when I went in for my 6 week check expressed surprise that I hadn’t come in on my bike.

But rather than trusting some random but well meaning strangers on the internet, I’d ask your doctor.
