Pagers traditionally dont use rechargeable cells, but use AA cells.

There is an N cell available, same diameter as AA but half the length…….giving space for an explosive material.

Also, access to the POCSAG operating system has been gained and then the access to send the radio transmission as an ‘all call’.

(Spent 5 years with a UK based pager manufacturer……well before all of this happened)

QR tool post mount was the first thing that I made for my lathe.

Not quite so simple as just making a threaded stud.

I cant claim ‘all my own work’ though.

I had to remove the cross slide as that required modification so I could not use my lathe for the next steps. Borrowed some time on a friends big lathe.

Turned 1 mm off the top face, but left a boss as the same diameter as the inside dia of the new QR tool post.

Had to buy an M14x1.5 tap to thread the crossslide to take the new 14mm QR post stud.

Then had to ‘lap’ the tool post to the boss. Some very fine grinding powder mixed with some thin oil (Luckily I had some SAE 5 hydraulic oil), and just a ‘few’ rotations of the post had it moving round very smoothly.

Last job……Very careful cleaning, including a dip into an ultrasonic tank,  of the cross slide and tool pust to remove any traces of the grinding paste.

Certainly removes the tiresome task of setting of the tool height.

    No pictures unfortunately.

I’d get on my high horse, and complain to ebay that the original buyer is wasting ebay’s and your time if they can’t make a simple wheel assembly correctly, then falsly claim the wheels are damaged.

Take photos of the correctly assembled ssooter.

You know how organs get packed in a chill box and then transported with a police escort to ensure there’s not a moment’s delay? Well that’s how my Rwandan Robusto gets delivered at six hour intervals to ensure maximum freshness.

So, the flights are not coming back empty then !!

    @brainflex.

The aerial on a PMR446 radio is fixed and cannot, or should not be removed.

All PMR radios are made to the common specification, but spending more money, Icom, Motorola, Kenwood gets you a much better quality build, better audio, better battery pack, removable battery, spare battery, drop in intelligent charger, repairable etc, etc.

If you want more oomph, power, you need to get an Ofcom licence and buy a business radio and correctly programme the radio to the licence terms and conditions.

Unfortunately, there are too many people about abusing the airwaves, bit like too many people with ‘tuned’ ebikes or throttle controlled e bikes, which in reality are electric motorbikes.

Lots of bike hire in Port Pollenca, from BSO’s to nice Cube bikes.

I last hired a hybrid, Stevens brand. Swapped over the brakes and fitted SPD pedals.

Did the job just fine for a few days on tracks similar to the photograph above.

I installed app Maps de Espana.

Plenty of routes away from the coast into the centre parts of the island.

    This very morning.

Thought the sink dishcloth had been wrung out over the cup…….

Spoilt that moment when I needed a ‘pep’ up.

    What happens if:

    The copper is awkward,

    The car is impounded,

The car is loaded onto a truck,

The car is taken to a compound,

You have to pay £X to release the car.

I read that as ‘we will pay for you’……..

(Based on them asking when you started painting).

Perhaps they could see something in the painting that nobody else could see.

Oh yes, the famous reversed fork……

If you are not confident in the bike assembly, collect in the box and take it to an LBS for them to build up.

Might cost you cash and or biscuits.

Am I missing the point here?

The OP’s question was not about making the coffee, but rather about transporting an already made coffee.

The question should be ‘How long does a coffee keep before it becomes stale?’

I prefer to drink my coffee as ‘freshly made’, not what it will taste like in 1 hour or so.

Am I wide of the target?

    Avoid Click Rent in Spain.

Site at Palma airport is off the airport site.

Pick up shuttle drive is mad – too fast and crazy in the turns.

Car as covered in scratches and marks, looked like the  rear doors had been levered open ith a crow bar.

Then at return, picked up a minute scratch. Charged me for it, luckily we had taken out some car charge insurance through Ryanair. Got the money back.

Trust Pilot is full of bad reviews.

    Record Imp Bench Vice, 80215931

These were designed as a motor mechanics vice.

Handy vice, as you can take outside and clamp to an outside bench. Includes a small anvil.

    Made in England.

I use an old iron clamped in the vice upside down for a hammering anvil.

What is that he has added?

To my eyes looks like a plastic strip, fixed by screws and a tube full of silicone.

I’m not convinced that is a long term permanent solution.

Happy to be proved wrong of course.

The lead flashing should be cut into the brick behind the render.

If the render fails and lifts away from the brick behind, its taking the flashing with it !!

What is the overlap of the joint in pic 1?

I have had leadwork / flashing done before and the finish was ‘very smooth’, but yours looks very ‘lumpy’.

What is underneath the flashing to cause that?

All that should be there is a ‘smooth’ upstand of the covering sheet lapped up the wall 100mm or so, sealed against the wall.

As previously pointed out, the joint on the right of pic 2 looks suspect.

If the garage is flooded there must be something else going on as well.

I have one as in the yellow colour shown.

Purchased from the LBS in 2017, so quite an early one.

Standard kit build, 1 x, 2nd set of Cross Light wheels, Spyre cable discs.

Paint has been durable and kept its shine.

Ridden it a lot and I am well satisfied.

    Delivery spot on,

    Comfort spot on,

    Warmth, err, spot on.

Will be top of the list for next piece of cycle clothing.

    probably M5.

That is a metric thread designation.

Are your joists steel and are you threading the fixing holes?

    Do you mean 5mm?
