how did this change from Bivvies to Water?

Bivvie bag all the way for me, nothing worse then getting to a bothy and having other folk about to disrupt your "wilds" trip. imho.

hoods that pack away tend more often than not to be poor. The peak will be practicaly useless. Its a town jacket, no better than to be worn down the pub, simple. lightweight it is not.

Yeah Grumm, i have a Changabang to go get the milk/paper, proper nice too.

I want a Titanium frame, but i wouldn’t buy a Alu one just because it was reduced to clear?

Hope you like it and it gives you many years plesure.

Its got a roll-away hood for a start! that shouts of “dog walker/Chav/walking to School”. It’s only saving grace was it being made out of Paclite but now thats 2 years out of date due to Proshell.

    niche Grumm? nah, just $hit.

i got £185 for a CC of that same year, it was SS’d but still had the Project 2’s on so £100 is a joke! more like £300 i’d say.

I have a b17 pre-aged version, very nice it is too. I tried a Swift but it felt like i was riding on a fist! So, not all Brooks suit all bums.

I take The Times. Ever since it went to the smaller size, about 6 years ago i think.
Mainly for the Sport, esp the Game on Mondays.

I will get the Observer once a month to pick up OMM. Very good publication in its own right.

Did it only last week, 3 of us on cross bikes fitted with 28s and a mate on a Cannondale road bike with 23s, no bother at all on any aspect of this ride.

I’d follow the little Blue signs all the way from Workington to Sunderland, you’ll enjoy it.

One part aside, dont do any of the off road sections in Whinlatter, just head up the pass road and down the other side to Braithwaite and then pick up the signs again.

Kona Jake? better than a Tricross, i’d say if you bought one then any shop worth their inner tubes would throw in rack and mudguards. i mean, they only come to £50 so that would be less than 10%.

You’d be going far wrong if you didn’t look at Voodoo’s. There designed by Joe Murray who as you all know, was responsable for the famous Kona Geometry.

A Friend of mine has a Wanger and its wonderfull. You could also look at a Surly 1×1, realy nice ride.

I picked up a 19″ 97 CC 2 years ago but sold it to fund a fixie project, kinda wish i’d kept it but knew i’d never ride it as much as a fixed wheel.

Super item the featherlite jackets/pants. If used with a long sleave then its awsome, if you keep moving then they keep out about 70% of rain. Buy one.

I’m running a Surly 1×1 with 29″ wheels on. I did think that only X tyres would fit and was running Schwalbe Smart Sams. But have since found Bontrager do a 1.7 29er tyre so i’d look at them, they do me fine!

That 10% charge from Shops is utter tripe. you pay the price a regular punter would.

I was in the same situation last year, i bought a Kangoo, 1.9D with 106k on a W for £1450.

Mine has the 60/40 rear doors, Thule roof bars, 2 sliding doors and a bench seat in the back. This folds flat or fully up to make a half bulk head.

I can use it for two as a small camper sleeping in the bck no bother or can fit four mates and four bikes plus camping gear if we use a tent.

I found insurance no bother at all, little more than my 2L Mondeo at £340 fully comp.
Its the best thing i ever did, it promotes steady driving and i get about 470 miles out of a tank.

The one peice of advice i’d tell you, do get at least one sliding door.

The 08 Sutra is heavy, it also has severe toe-overlap. The Racks are also very cheap and nasty. if it were used soley as a tourer then ok, but anything else and it would be found wanting due to slow, uninterestring ride. A Jake the Snake would be a better choice if you like Kona, the honky-tonk is about £150 overpriced. and heavy.

The Vapor from Genesis would also make a fine bike for your needs.

While the Snowpeak mugs are indeed nice items, their not a patch on the MSR version as you cannot place one directly onto your stove to boil water/milk.

Try the one at Stonethwaite or the one at the head of the road.
