i’ve just had a nightmare with one and would steer clear if i were you. The build quality is poor, like really for its age. Mine was a 52 and it felt propper ropey compared to all my other cars. It was really quick being the 1.4 but any bump or poor surface and it sounded and felt like the sky was gonna fall in on me. this leads me onto another situation.

Clio’s are known for leaking sunroofs but i took a chance and boy was i pi$$ed i did. it leaked so much that the garage agreed to take it back! they are cheap, fun to drive and look great, but really they are naff built.

i’d not bother as i said, for the same money get an older Fiesta of VW.

you lot should think yourselves lucky! in the last 12 months i’ve racked up 9 points and had a full claim that was my fault. i’ve now got 2ync left and cannot get fully comp for less than a grand unless i go for a 1.0 shoebox of a car thats as old as the hills!

i’d like to keep my road brakes so no cross bikes or hybrids.

this really has got me and i’ve not been able to come up with much in the way of frame and/or fork options.

    Hello All

Right, first up, the tyres have been posted today and will be with SA on Monday. I’m also going to give you/SA a full refund for your troubles. I’m not going to spell it out on a public forum as to why i’ve not got around to posting them, and yes, 6 odd weeks is far to long to wait for something, but lets just say i’ve got alot on right now.

    Have a good weekend.

Mate, i grew up in Keswick, my folks still live there too, in town, go to the George Hotel, really really nice and the beer is spot on, out of town, the Borrowdale Hotel is also nice. The Thai place at the bottom end of Main St is also ment to be good. But honestly, try the George, its cock-on. How many years by the way?

ok, i’ll be getting the train to Leeds each day and the SO will get the train to MK, so we need to be in riding distance to Picadilly.
So inside the M60 i think.

She went into Red Kite but felt very patronised, one young chap commented that " you don't look much like a cyclist" on being asked a question. so, any others?

i've notice that Golfs tend to be pretty high milers, the Saab look great and being of a certain age, they'll always be cool to me.

Why do A2s hold their money soooo well? had a Polo, never get the same car twice.

I've been riding fixed on 48-17 for a little over 3 years now, started on a 16t, then moved up to 17t and settled on 18t. i can spin along at between 17 and 20 mph, going up hill is fine, but going down…..its really hard work now and i cannot seem to get over 37mph. i just feel knackered at the end of a long ride and develop a really sore lower back now too. could be my new stem being lower. but i've given in, just to much pride i feel in riding fixed wheel. SS feels great and i can glide down the hills now.

SO uses 42-18 and manages fine so i might even be tempted to go lower, we'll see.

What about Birkenstocks? i've a lovely pair or Boston's, really nice and they last a jolly long time too. Shop around but you should pick some up for a little over £40. Don't bother with the boiled wool versions, they pick up all the fluff!

I had a kangoo for a while, very nice. mine had two sliding doors and a folding factory fitted bench seat in the back. 4 bikes all stood up with wheels was no bother, 29ers, road bikes, dh bikes etc. with the seats up you just take the wheels off, again 4 blokes all legaly seatesd with 4 bikes in back. it also had roof bars so with the box on top it was a greatlittlw thing to tour about in and always te bikes were isnde and secure. the Berlingo and Partner are slightly smaller and the Doblo is just nasty, pick up a Kangoo and you'll be well pleased.

i ride the same gear and my rid eis also "flat" but with sections on exposed roads with killer side winds! sitting down will increse strength and technique and place less stress on knees (i think?)what would be better is changing your rear sprocket to a bigger one thus increasing your cadence. i'll be doing the same once i buy a fresh sprocket. what bike you riding?

i've had a Day one drop and it was the worst bike i've ever had.

the paint was the thinnest of the thin, just kept chipping even just to look at t it would chip and flake, but it had loads in the drop-outs!! geting the wheels out was a proper mare, we had to file them down.

The Shimano hoods rattled on any road let alone offroad, the bar tape was nasty and to top it all off, the chainring was oval so the cain kept haveing perfect tension through to 1.5" slackness. oh and the wee screws that are ment to be there to keep your wheel from sliding forward bent on both sides first time.

imho, not very god bikes at all.

get a White Industries Eno hub (?) that'll sort out tension worries and keep clean lines. X

Don't get a Day one! i've got a drop version and its crap, i've never come accross such a poorly put together bike for ages, even the paint finish is bad. I'm angling for a refund and will get a Single.
