I would contact the police and Yodel

    Down the phone?

    Edit: 😳

    Complain to Yodel.

That’s the obvious choice….but what’s the best that will happen?

Yodel take it seriously; sack off the driver and possibly my postie gets a rollocking for just using common sense…

    Ok, maybe an illiterate rant.

Metal Bin has been there since I moved in and was just full of old bottles. Never had the inclination to empty it, but as it’s never taken by dustmen, it’s used by postman and couriers as a sensible place to deposit stuff.

    1. Postman has left something in metal bin today.

    2. Yodel man has been.

    3. There is nothing in the metal bin.

They are the facts – no evidence other than that, but on the balance of probabilities…

I hope he enjoys the soundtrack to opening ceremony of the Olympics.

A cheeky neat Blended Whiskey. I know, but it’s Sherry Cask Grants stuff that’s in Asda for £13.50 and it’s bloody lovely.

    ..and some tyrrels.

Isn’t that just streaming though? It needs to be ‘downloadable’ onto HD.

I was about 30 when I realised that the pronunciation of “W” was cunningly a description of a double “U”.

    Knocked me back for days.

    where is this hotel ?

300 away miles in Devon, so M1/M5 for me. It’s not the main roads that concern me, it’s actually getting out of my village which is most likely to prevent.

never had journey in the uk canceled because i couldnt get there cause of snow

Lucky. I’ve had to abort three I think; I was once the only car on the M6 heading to Glasgow in a total white-out; before camera phone or I’d have snapped a pic; it was eerily beautiful, but ultimately journey halting.

Forgot I posted this 🙄 That’s the thing, would a snow preventing making a car journey be covered, rather than more obvious and trackable public transport cancellation? Hmm, guess I’ll just ring up a few places.

    Ta.

Something else I’ve remembered; when sat on M62 at a standstill (very rarely), sometimes, with no warning, handbrake button thing/auto-hold thing on and feet not on any pedals, it’ll just start itself up! That’s quite weird.

Our 18 MONTH old male cat developed a urinary problem a few months ago.

Just north of £2k now and am currently at home waiting to pipette his piss.

Not being an engineer, or a mechanic, but being on STW, I’m perfectly qualified to comment.

I would not be surprised, if it WAS less economical and rather a product that has been created to generate a perceived need, rather than meet a demand.

Mine counts how many seconds it’s been ‘off’ for. There has to be a point at which the engine being off becomes an economical saving, but funnily enough there is no mention of what that is anywhere in the literature (yes, I did look!).

Plus, I manage to unintentionally trick mine a few times a week where the engine shouldn’t be off and I find myself pumping the damned clutch to get it to start again.

I’m more impressed that all the other functions (power steering etc) continue to work. How much power does that take?!

No, they are paid a wage already for their service.

    Go on then, I’ll bite.

    Tosh.

It’s about tradition due to recognition that the service they provide is a particularly arduous one that we rely on. I have watched the bin lorry fly up my close in reverse on an ice laden road and the chaps slip about everywhere trying to empty my cat’s crap and my ridden chicken carcus from my house. On top of that, they make sure that the bin isn’t in the way of me accessing my drive.

I salute their attitude, but am never in to tell them and let’s face it, they wouldn’t care really.

Christmas, I can say a little thanks.

Funny, I was only thinking about this yesterday.

Bin Service is pretty good here in BD11 and Postie is great; he’s been on the mobile before in response to a non-important enquiry and will always pester my neighbours instead of returning something to the delivery office.

I gave him a fiver last year and bought binmen a crate of Bud. Will do the same this year, but will raise postie money as thinking about it, a fiver isn’t jack for what he does and the faith he restores.

EDIT: Binmen have a rubbish job (no pun) – they are the front line victims of a barrages of media slating when it’s a slow news day, local council attempts at cost cutting and at the end of all that, they clear out our crap and unless string willed, must feel pretty low when they’re having a bad day. Not exactly like having to deal with an awkard supplier or trying to manage some crappy project risks.
