As usual DrP speaks sense…. The actual significant* miss rate in A&E x-ray is less than 1% (about 0.2% in my department), which I dont think is that bad. Especially if you take into account the royal college of radiology guidelines about x-ray reporting/reviewing which state they should be done on a high definition monitor in a darkened room with a quiet environment. We are a major trauma center and don’t even have the first of those never mind the others.

Mildred – Please tell me you are joking…. Surely someone stopped the orthopods before they tried to remove a L/R marker from your leg. Even if the numpty who saw you initially didn’t know, you would hope that an orthopod would have looked at enough x-rays to realise!!

*By significant, I mean would actually have had an impact on the outcome if ignored.

Drac – I was also on the first series of Junior doctors…. It was me that changed the blonde doctors name to Barbie on our computer system…. She wasnt half as annoying in real life.

That’s exactly what I got it for jonny….

They should all be compatible with inifinity. The homehub is just a posh wireless router, so any wireless extender will extend its range

Owen james is the chief scrote… The e-mail system they seem to use is first initial and surname…. Worth a try!

I have had similar from these exact shysters before… After a lengthy (and rude on their part) phone call got me no-where then a bit of googling action soon found the name and e-mail address of the chief exec (which they may have since removed from their website).

A snotty e-mail directly to him resulted in a letter of apology from both him and the scrotum I had spoken to on the phone….

Estimates of ct scan price vary at about a couple of hundred quid depending who you ask, likewise a stay in hospital varies from 2-5 hundred depending who you ask….

Has to be said the x-ray is too bollocks to be certain but the neck on the left certainly looks shorter c.f. the right and Shenton’s line looks all to pot. Needs a lateral….

the inserted object is quite clearly photoshopped (it’s a plastic bottle, plastic is radiolucent….)

(I also clearly need to get out more)

It’s the unfixed fracture on the left rather than the hemiarthroplasty on the right I’d be more worried about.

To be fair though Drac, that drunk fella was right. It wouldn’t have taken the crew long to take them home.

Climb Newcastle is a dedicated bouldering wall and does kids lessons from 3. I’m taking my 2 1/2 year old there next summer.

Can’t help with a recommendation, but have a look on groupon. A couple of people local to here are always offering discounts on their courses.

depends on the price range TBH. The new Sony RX100 is supposed to be brilliant but is fair expensive…

DrP speaks the truth (as usual).

You don’t need to be ‘signed back on’ you can go back whenever you feel up to it. You could get a note saying you would be fit for modified duties, you could tell them to bugger off as you have a valid sick note, you could go back with their agreement to modified duties. Up to you entirely, you just need to discuss it with the company. If they require a ‘alright for modified duties’ fit note then you can go bothering your GP

I’m willing to go up to £20….

If the A&E docs didn’t do a troponin and then repeat it 6 hours later then they must have been very convinced by the history/examination that you were not having an MI. This is reassuring, honest.

We did similar (got a new kitten with two other older cats already in-situ). We went for the ‘well there going to have to get used to each other eventually’ plan which involved just leaving them to it. They fought like cat and cat for 2 days to suss out who was boss then they were fine. Figured there would probably be scraps at some stage when they were introduced so may as well just get it over and done with.

All fine now (well, one of the older cats has since died, but you get the idea).

Not convinced by the Tennis elbow idea, but difficult with the limited info. When you say it sore when you lift it above your head, what exact movement are you describing??

TBH they have been doing this for at least the last 4-5 years. Not sure why it has suddenly made the news…

They do put nasty tasting shit (Bittrex I think) in it but the punters just water it down. It bad if you gel your hands then take a bite of your lunch and absent mindedly lick your fingers…. Does smell great though!

Best bet is to buy the Three sims from amazon with 3gb preloaded onto them for about 11-12 quid, then just chuck them and buy another when it runs out.

That’s what I do with my iPad, buy 3-4 at a time and just cjuck a spare one in your wallet, just in case it runs out while you aren’t at home

    Get a Doctors note:

    “To whom it may concern,

Mr Peaks has ‘Elevenses Disease’ which, far from meaning he gets the nibbles late morning, leaves him with an irresistable urge to evacuate his bowels immediately before lunch.

He’d doing his best to cope under difficult circumstances and would appreciate if you woudl ask your staff to avoid commenting or drawing attention to his behaviour in this area.

    Thanks in advance

    Dr De’ath.”

I’m not signing my name to that….
