You can get the ones without LEDs faster than the ones with as some of your power is nicked to light the lights. 13200 on a normal 11000 on an LED one.

One of the modes tells you the fastest it has been so put it on that and look when you’ve given it your best shot….

Plug ipod in to ‘puter. Click on it in the source menu. One of the options in the ‘Summary’ tab is ‘Open iTunes when this iPod is connected’, un-tick this box.

DO NOT VISIT NHS DIRE, OR PHONE THEM (EVER)!

Sounds like one for your GP, did they ever find a cause for your iron deficiency anaemia as this is a symptom of something else not a disease. Need more investigations methinks!

MInes Platinum and Ti, The platinum has gentley scuffed over time so it now looks lived in, the Ti has proved undamagable.

p.s. We can cut Ti ones off, we have an electric ring cutter with a diamond blade!

    Break = fracture
Compound fracture = broken with bits of bone sticking through the skin
    Open fracture = compound fracture
Greenstick fracture = not broken all the way through (only happens to kids)
Hearing something go ‘crack’ does not necessarily = broken

Dunno why, could have been a tiny fracture in the head of radius (they are very easy to miss). Depends where it hurts and exactly what you have done to it as to how long it will take to get better. Should stop eventually but may get better quicker with some treatment (based on what you have done to it).

Kewswick Mountain Bikes in (you’ve guessed it) Keswick sell marked up maps for a couple of quid and are very helpful to boot. Don’t just ride the trail centres, it’s a complete waste.

The NFT is OK but a lot of the other stuff around Grizedale is far better and I have heard nothing but bad reports about Whinlatter from the guys I know that have ridden it.

Try Ride the Lakes or bogtrotters website for more info, alternatively let some of the guys over at uk-mtb know when you are coming over and we’ll sort out some guided tours, as I’m sure some of the locals from here would.

We saw a few people out in Les Gets with them (where they have proper snow) seemed to be working pretty well there.

Putting legs in plaster doesn’t stop them growing…

Depends on where the leg length discrepancy is as to what the problem is and what (if anything) can be done about it.

Shortening of the tibia and fibula (the two bones in your lower leg) is a common occurrence in people with club feet, and part of the ‘syndrome’, and there is not always a lot that can be done TBH. Not wanting to come across as defending the surgeon (and ‘closing ranks’) that operated on you, but it may be that the operation was a complete success. You may just be one of the unfortunate people that has the shortened Tib and Fib that goes with a club foot.

As to what can be done about it now, that needs to be discussed with an orthopaedic surgeon with an interest in lower limb surgery. I suspect that the answer may be ‘nothing surgical’. However that doesn’t mean nothing at all. But this needs to be discussed in person with access to your notes and x-rays, not on an internet forum with access to myth and rumour.

46 euros for skis only (was 75 ish with boots) in Les Gets a couple of weeks back…. Go to the meribel website and search through the ski rental places they have links to on their site… Far cheaper if you book in advance.

‘Likelihood of intelligent life in the universe….. less then one’

Quite witty I thought, and given the state that we are getting this place into and the current bit of a mess that is the world economy, probably not far from the truth.

Borrowdale bash is a better ride than Back o’Skiddaw IMHO. However if you’re there for 4 days (or feeling very fit and do it in a single day) you can do both….

Why FFS, just tell the idle **** that couldn’t be arsed to turn up to catch up in their own time!

Everyone at my place turned up for work today and some of them live in the arse end of Northumberland, half way up a Cheviot (and some of them live in Darlo Mike and they made it to the toon so your students have no bleeding excuse). All this ‘we couldn’t get there’ bollocks from teachers and others is just laziness as far as I can see. I just looked at the **** weather forecast last night and got out of my pit earlier this morning – and lo, I was at **** work on time, even though the council had been ‘Caught by surprise’ and neglected to grit any of the roads.

Jeez it really winds me up, we get a couple of inches of snow and everyone uses it as an excuse to either not bother or skive off. Tell you what, me and my colleagues will all skive tomorrow, see how you like that!!

    and breath……

Beg to differ Drac, I think it’s possible he could have swallowed it.

Doubt a bit 3x4mm will do him any damage though. As NHS re-direct state, come and see us if he gets unwell.

(I wouldn’t bother looking for it either TBH, I only tell parents that if I’m feeling mischievious)

I was a bit unsure about posting on here…. Dunno whether I was feeling a bit embarrassed about what I earn, but I thought ‘**** it, I’ve worked bloody hard to get where I am and continue to work bloody hard for my money’.

I have two degrees and a number of postgraduate qualifications and currently earn around 60-odd grand, for putting you guys (and everyone else) back together.

I think you’ll find it’s a unique blend of dead sheep, turf and petrol.

TBH I wouldn’t bother if I were you. Sounds like you are on the mend and firing a huge dose of radiation at your heart and lungs just for the fun of it wouldn’t be top of my list of great ideas….

Pop up to Newcastle A&E any night after friday and I’ll ultrasound your chest to look for lungs full of snot/fluid….. I’m after numbers for my learning.

EDIT: What did it show?? You beat my post by a few seconds…. the offer still stands though!

Anaemia is unusual in blokes, as noted above, unless there is a specific cause.

Symptoms include: lethargy, weakness, dizzy spells and feeling faint. Although loads of people don’t really have any symptoms.

Causes include: Iron deficiency, secondary to acute or chronic blood loss, dietary insufficiency; B12 and Follate deficiency; bone marrow problems; Chronic disease; inappropriate breakdown of red blood cells (usually some sort of hereditory weirdness.

Treatment is very much dependent on the underlying cause……

Drac – we were using all the transport ambulances over christmas to transport all the old grannies around town to wherever there was a bed as it was bonkers…

However, I was in on NYE and it was strangely quiet, seems everyone had house parties and avoided coming to blows… which was nice!
