well par of my plan is that i heard ( idunno where it comes from but it just does) that when your on a climb you’re meant to be low gear spinning rather than big gear powering so is training for that kinda thing?

Thanks for replies, have got a ss to try and force myself to pedal more rather than use the torque of gears.

i didn’t get it new, so assumed it would want a single speed… yeah i know never assume!
Wacko.. does yours seem to bend? think my brushing is worn? but single speed chain didn’t sit on the jockey wheel properly, when ever i put pressure on the pedals, it slipped on the jockey wheel. Instantly works now even with a slightly knackered chain

LOL, just sorted my problem, went through loads of stuff tried moving the tensioner, then i thought it ws bent so tried straightening it and all sorts of stuff ready to throw out the window… and the i thought the chain wasn’t the right chain… i had brought a single speed chain for my single speed biek… and i shouldn’t have, put a normal chain on and it works perfect, turns out the “on one” tensioner doesn’t like single speed chains…. who would have thought!

normally i believe its the colour of the light that changes, sometimes with different bins you get different lumens but normally you get bright light at a bad colour initially and then as the bins progress they get the light in better colour temp…

I also have an on one that i am struggling to setup, it seems to not be able to hold the tension properly and leans?

see to me, coming from motorbikes, it makes more sense to have it with the thicker tyre at the rear, tho i personally have them the same size, if i am in loose mud, and want to power through i would want a thick rear to do this? if you’re in a bog do you really wana cut through? also if i’m riding along and i need to stop quick i wil break harder on the rear and lean my weight over the back so would want a thicker tyre to grip more to stop? the front doesn’t really have a lot of chance as its always going to have the fork which is a moveable boundary surely?

    Hi,
first time was next day then later in the week it was about 4-5 days (excluding weekend) i did have a code for a quid off somewhere?

    huh?
I dunno either… when you lift the rear and pedal it seems happy just skipping every so often… but when you pedal under load it goes a bit nuts… going to try re-alligning it.. obviously not a common problem like i thought originally..

    that one…
seems to just bend the bottom bar that has the cog on it and not just pull it forward:(

Well…. the turning moves the piston assembly and so it will move it, it is a worm gear against the cog that also screws the piston assembly in. it is physically moving the piston forward and backwards… I believe when bleeding you have to have the adjuster all the way out? can only “GUESS” that you would need to re-bleed with it all the way out, as if not setup right then i can see how it would turn but not affect the pads’ position.

not hard to take apart, if you take your time… easy to pull apart! and no easy answer for it? does it turn?

I spent £60 on a taser watch 4 years ago and it has had some amazing beatings and it still works wonderfully. The constant glow nature is kewl and i know i would have certainly have broken most watches by now for all the hassle it has been through!

is it not a case of looking at cable routing?… and modern ones seem to be able to take both anyway….

Yes, if you visit the fox website and look at the manual you’ll see the rebound dials come off (the ones on the bottom of the fork right?) when you change the seals so if you wanted to clean then you should be fine to invert the forks and take them off… please read the manual tho as i am new to the talas things… just got a pair myself!

I have a leatherman i had for 3-4 years… charge i think and haven’t truely used it much its in the backpack just incase and it works fine, nothing is loose, it looks brand new, it has been useful for odd times i needed to bodge something and didn’t have the proper tools and will deffo get another should this one die… The one thing i would look at is how easy it is to replace tools, i had to saw through a metal bolt with it and it hasn’t really done much to the saw but it may and so replacement of parts would be my major deciding factor

My parents owned two lagunas… Both had their gearboxes go at 120-130K, first time we got rid, second time we went and had it rebuilt, the gearbox place said they were known for gearbox issues and lagunas from 95-05 should be avoided for many reasons as reliability is bad…
So we had it repaired and then something else engine wise went after a year…
They just brought a Passat Diesel, when we were looking wasn’t uncommon to see them with over 180k on… so i think they take the mileage much much better..

I believe sometimes the pedals can make such noises? i am ready to be corrected… but i am sure they can if they aren’t happy so might be worth a look….

I must admit i never knew about the lower limits for vans, was aware for minibuses and the like, but i suppose the OP was doing 11mph over the limit so not a minor infraction.

    @Yellow Belly
The ruling is that the police have to send the NIP (notice of intended prosecution) witthin 14 days, if they don’t then they can’t enforce it, if they send it they then can take their sweet ass time and i think they have some crazy long time of 6 months or maybe 2 years to take it further, HOWEVER…. the 14 day rule only applys if they don’t try and send it, I have heard of cases where if the reg’d keeper isn’t upto date or if there is hassle due to a company car and the like then the 14 days can be over-ruled and the case still taken on.

Regarding getting off on the police calibration thing… be careful how and where you try it, if its a stationary camera then maybe worth a punt but if its in car then not a chance, as will be vascar or maybe off the police cars own speedometer which are classed as calibrated and thus fine. You will just “annoy” them.

    Correct me if i’m wrong….
BUT…Under construction and use regs, speedos are not allowed to under-read, they do have inaccuracies as any device will have tolerances but they can not under read, hence why they over read, when your speedo says you are doing 70 you are prob doing 66-67mph but it will never be the case that your speedo would say you are doing 70 and you are actually doing over 70, the 10% is the accuracy the speedo has to produce but it will only ever be over reading, so maybe at worst you are doing 64 and the speedo says 70, never the other way round and given the modern car is more advanced with fancy onboard electronics you will find the accurary is much better than the old fashioned mechanical drives. Obviously, if you change the profiling of the rubber or size of your wheels the speedo will be out but on standard setup there would be no chance of under rreading, i know maybe 4 or 5 people who have been done for 41 in a 40.

Thank you junkyard you are very much right it is moisture not air! Old age getting to me!

    dr_adams

The reason it doesn’t store i believe is that it absorbs air and thus will be more spongy. I may be wrong but i believe 5.1 is more heat tolerant but is also absorbs the air quicker and hence requires changing more…

ideally the pipe is made of something weaker than the crown race so it gets damaged and not the race…
