seems weird it does it in 3rd and 4th… i have it previously but normally it shows in the smallest cogs as the torque is highest there…
is it jumping into other gears or just slipping but staying in gear?

I would be honest, maybe asking for an hour or two would be acceptable, but not a whole day unpaid. If they were honestly in need, then i would suggest accruing time in lieu, or some other method but i wouldn’t work completely for free. Life is too short.

my Avid 7’s were annoying, didn’t want to pay out the money! (i;m in scotland so might as well adapt to the culture) but i found theres a place on ebay called bike fridge? also has the website brake disco i think, they sell braided hoses for about a tenner that fitted my 7’s. They are a pain to cut and the fittings aren’t resueable so i would advise asking the company to cut them to the size you need, but it was the cheapest option £20 all in for two new braided lines.
Btw my 7’s are the non split clamp ones of 05 i think?

I can’t see the drop outs on the orange properly, but the chain tugs work with both forward and rear setups.

I hear the people saying we should let it be whilst things are sorted out, but from experience that it not the way, people should be subjected to pressure. He has peoples money and we shouldn’t ignore the fact he has already cause one person to write off £200. I understand he has problems, we all have problems now and then but as said, if he got an hour free he could refund everyone and then simply ask them to pay when he can send it. If he is sitting on all this money then he should be able to get people cash back until things are better for him. I think its unreasonable to assume there are any circumstances that stop him from being able to sort this within a month, especially if he has had a presence on other forums and personal websites. This doesn’t ring true and sadly i think it should be a case that a small claims settlement should be entered into by all parties. It is SAD it has to come to this but i agree that one person on here getting biten affects the whole community.

See it is ok, is relatively cheap due to the Q6600 being replaced by the 8200 (tho as said the 6600 is held as a better chip by some) The sata drive is 16mb cache instead of 32mb, the memory is ddr2 667mhz instead of ddr2 800mhz or even the new ddr3 1333mhz the graphics are standard, it is a good basic machine and would be a match for the aldi machine you originally posted i say. A good standard machine.

well they don’t tend to provide keyboards, mice, operating systems, so if you are upgrading then not an issue as such, most of them are proper shops as self building can’t compete so you should be able to find a decent outlet with a physical store to pick up from. My friend only didn’t buy there as he needed vista and given the price of it was cheaper with one of dells deals.
The graphics cards including in those bundles aren’t brill so if you just wana play occasional game then ok but personally i would get the cheapest grpahics (integrated) and then maybe buy a nice card secondhand with the saved money. Obviously ebay people save money on things like psu’s which people won’t think about when they give so much advertising on the cpu and memory but they should be fine for joe public. Like i say, try and match the spec on one and you will struggle!

sounds exactly like my dell 1710, if you go down the route of turning into a desktop… i would say it will on day die, and personally i would remove the lcd and sell it on ebay! will get you some cash!

is it completely dead on the main lcd or just artfacts? there used to be a seller on ebay who could repair ones that still had a little life in them.

The Q6600 is a better chip i believe as it has the better multiplyer and so will give faster possible clock speeds but given the stock speeds of these things it is unlikely most people will go clocking them…

From experience of Dell’s the coding is not built into the hard ware, if you remove the lcd thn it will default into the external supply. It common on gefore 7000 series in laptops to do this, the internal one graphics go goodbye but will display on external graphics. You can get away will just pulling the connector loose and so still having it look like a decent laptop.

Well if you search Ebay for a Q8200 which is about the best processor bang per buck without overclocking, then you can simply decide on hdd space and graphics options and prices go from 300 until 450 depending on the mix, tho obviously might need an operating system but like i say given the processor has a retail of £150ish its hard to build a system to match them nevermind beat them!

Please tell me why you need more brakes for climbing? Just stop prdalling and you, err, stop, yeah?

for me, i find my back somtimes slips on climbs when i pause for a moment, in a trackstand kinda pose, so if i am wanting to just catch a breath for a second or just move pedals for a bump or something… makes sense to me but maybe i am just useless!

It is eiher overpriced or underspec’d. For that kinda money you can get Quad core, with similar setup so a much faster cpu. So either you can spend this and get quad core or save money and get something of this spec for cheaper elsewhere

do both… back is important when doing climbs as the front has no weight over it, so you need your rear grabbing well!

I believe the spacers are about maintaining chain lines so if you wanted to remove a spacer there should be no reaons, the problem would be adding spacers, reducing the thread.
