My Stans rims used to go up with a track pump or the occasional Co2 cartridge. Have a look here

I now have a Sram Rail 50 wheelset and all the tyres i have tried require a compressor to seat them. Just bought one of these so I don’t have to bother my Lbs.

Aaah, liking my 3C MaxTerra Exo in DHF version. Not heard of The DHR with the 62A/60A compounds yet. Run em front and rear, with an Ikon for the rear when it dries out( please)

Totally agree with njee20. ProBolt are very good but not very cheap, they are what I use. Buy a few at a time and you don’t notice it as much. Avoid Superstar.

Good enough for MotoGp, good enough for me. Fitted where ever possible on my bikes since 2004. Stainless steel in it’s lower grades CAN rust. Put a 304 grade bolt in a saline soloution and watch it turn ginger. Don’t buy cheap grade Ti bolts, some of the quality out there is terrible and I speak from experience. The correct bolts will have the threads rolled not machined / die cut. They are much too good for the purpose but hell they look good. Still have some of my origonal bolts fitted too, from 2004

Normally drop the pressure a little to help the 650B’s into my flight bag. Never been asked yet, flown with bikes maybe 20 times. Always leave mine at the oversize X Ray jobbie. They DO ask for C02 cartridges though.

I use Nikwax leather cleaner and conditioner on my Five Tens. It helps is all I can say. Comes in a small bottle and I paint it on. Also use it on my motorcycle boots and gloves.
Waterproof socks are Ok,but the water still runs down your legs with shorts on and your shoes fill up. When it’s grim I use Endura Singletrack 2 trousers and sealskins with Freerider Elements

Yeh, it’s an 11 plate. Sailed through the Mot on Wednesday at a VW main dealer. Had the alloys refurbed earlier in the year as the paint was flaking on the edges of the spokes in a couple of areas and it only showed up when they blasted it, very small/light crack. Tbf you really have to look to see it now. If it was just welded/cleaned up it would obviously stand out.

Had one repaired on my Golf R, no problems for me. Depends how bad the crack is Tbf.

Depends on the car. Older stuff I used to be able to do in twenty mins a corner. Last car I did was a Clio 172 and the bearings were in the rear disc so you need access to a press. Also fitted Goodridge stainless hoses at the same time. You can pick your own components eg Ferodo Ds2500 pads and better discs.

Guess you don’t ride in the woods at night then  First low branch and all. Seem to catch mine on everything at night but fine during the day, yes I do leave the light mounted from time to time. Yeh,Sugru would work.

bikebouy has it nailed. Ridden the 650B and you can feel the back end flex. I weigh 85 kg kitted up. The demo 29er has hardly any paint on the inside of the chainstays with only a 2.2 tyre. There are better things out there ton. Much as I like Uk produced stuff it would be a no from me. Had the Five Rs for a couple of weeks while my fork had some warranty work done and I was glad to give it back, gonna get flamed for that from the Orange lovers.

ben, don’t think my old legs are upto a Spanish “club” ride. Had a few rides with some “locals” in Fuerteventura and they were Very strong guys, one of em was second best in the Canaries :? I know what you mean though, the language was a problem and that’s why I would like to learn the basics, local accents aside.

The Finca is in the sticks outside town so even less peeps about, Henares has just a church and a few farm buildings. Very rural.

poolman- already have Lucifidi” learn Spanish” and busuu ditto on my phone. Will try coffee break as well, Thanks.
mogrim- the areas I like seem to be almost all Spanish speaking. Seen a place near Henares,if you look at it on Google earth there’s not much there Tbf.

Doug, ordered the MT so that’s a start. Many thanks for your advice.
Mogrim- that’s not an option Mrs Dhd might object.
poolman- not totally sure yet,Almeria/Murcia area but inland. Don’t like the touristy bits and need some hills to play on
The warm dry weather will be good for my wife, and the riding looks sublime. Think I will be spoilt for choice.

Cheers Doug, planning to move to Southern Spain later this year hence the question. Looks like it’s going to be a steep learning curve.
