iolo,if you cut it with ana angle grinder it will need welding  Piece of wood shaped to fit the inside of the chainstay to support and another suitable piece above and give it a crack

Pie from the local Deli. Always on Pie mountain, venue differs as does the pie. Hopefully the pie bringer will fetch Pork with cheese and Branston

They do seat tight on the taper,if it’s that type. Normally give it a bang with my palm to break it off the taper. Did you grease it well as per the fitting instructions?

Hi Martin, think an allen key socket and rachet is the way to go.Raceface SixC on my Turner, works for me. More leverage than a plain allen key

eskay, no lacquer. They are stickers, had three sets made to my design in the normal Turner style. I am waiting for some heli tape to arrive. Bought three sets in case they get damaged  The powder coaters would not lacquer over stickers. The origonals did eighteen months.

So Frank, do you always pay full price for everything you buy? Why not look out for a good deal, what you save you can spend on other bits. Cheers Andy will have a look on their web site

Chvck, do you use the pad spacer that came with the brakes to push the pistons in with? I use them and pull the lever a few times before fitting new Aztec pads. I run Hope sawtooth floaters and they are shall we say a very snug fit. Seems to work for me. Are the pistons sticking slightly? Aztec sintered – brilliant pads 8)

Woh, that was quick. Got Pro2 evo’s so no probs on the wheel front :D running all Xtr at the mo, with a Raceface Sixc crank set. Are the 9 & 10 speed Xtr shifters that different as I don’t mind them. Deffo want a clutch rear mech. Love the idea of losing a shifter. How durable is the Xx1 ?

Worst case scenario, take some straps and put it on the roof. Passat’s have roof rails i believe.Got the bike (in bag) in the boot plus 3 suitcases and three pieces of hand luggage. Oh, and three peeps in a Peugeot Bipper thingy very easily.Always take straps, just in case 8)

I run R1’s on my 5 Spot and they are superb, bit fussy to set up mind.I run Hope sawtooth floaters @ 180 & 160 with sintered Aztec pads. Mine are the Ltd edition with stainless braided hoses. You won’t need bigger than a 160 on the rear it will just lock up everywhere.Set up right gives one finger rolling stoppies with so much feel – AMAZING BRAKES

Agree with Tony, went to Sharm-el-shiek good weather but again too many drunken Ruskys. Try the Canaries, love Fuerteventura myself. Went five times last year. Took the bike great place to ride, off and dare I say on road :-)

A Stella or two for me :D Just waiting for a mate to deliver his bike. Said i would bleed his Avids for him, second set to bleed in two weeks.Don’t have that problem with my Formula r1’s Well maybe more than two 8O

nammynake, you might have to budget for some new pads. Think all Formula come with organic pads as standard, mine did. Ok for dry summer use. They squeal like crazy when wet. Can recommend Aztec sintered, little or no noise, predictable wet or dry and they last ok. See how the standard pads are. 8) If you need any help or advice let me know

I run the 2010 R1 limited edition, fantastic brake. Had Hope mono mini before. Four pot front two pot rear. The R1’s are light years ahead . With the right pads no squealing , one finger stoppies with so much feel you can’t believe. Run them with Hope floating sawtooth discs . Brilliant and cheap at a certain Major online resource

I use Oakley Radar lock Paths with persimmon vented lenses for all the winter / faux summer stuff. Also use the Bob Heath anti mist, belt and braces. It all depends how much you sweat and how cold it gets. So far a perfect set up,I wear contacts with these- was a pain in the Butt with glasses. Not cheap but you get what you pay for. Can’t tell they are on when riding

dickie, are you running tubeless? just weighed a tube @ 165g. The Ust 26’s were 775 and 780g. Not draggy at all,as good as 2.2 Nobby Nics imo. Found the grip of the X-King lacking, and the sidewalls developed wear / threads showing through after a few rides front and rear. In the end it’s just what you fancy, think we all check the ratings before we part with our hard earned  I must have gone through at least 10 sets of tyres looking for a good allrounder, much to my wifes dismay 8O

Have you ridden on them? This helps the sealing process. I thought Non Evo RR was a bit too fragile for tubeless. Fitted some Conti X King Racesport and they were a nightmare tubeless even after scrubbing the inside with soapy water and cleaning with meths. They were still dropping air pressure after a couple of months use. Since replaced with Conti Rubber Queen :D a superb tyre
