    Interesting thread. This:

I believe that there was something more significant work in the creation of the universe than simply a vaguely explained explosion of sorts.

on the first page made me chuckle. Seems a bit like not believing in chocolate cake because its a ‘vaguely explained plant of sorts’. When in fact we do know a couple of minor details about how it all happened…

There are quite a few other things in the thread that made me 8O

Let’s hope it doesn’t catch on and everyone starts choosing which laws to obey because “this countries gone mad”

    Got a reply from BBC

    Hi

Thank you for your e-mail. The BBC only has limited resources and has to
spread those resources across a great number of sports, including many
minority sports which other commercial broadcasters do not cover. Along
with the major sports, we make a priority of covering those to which we
have broadcast rights, and Olympic sports. This does mean that sports
such as downhill mountain-biking are likely to miss out.

We do on occasion cover world titles in sport that fall out of the
parameters set out above but it’s a case of when staffing allows.
Unfortunately the downhill mountain biking fell on a massive weekend of
sport – with Olympic sport including athletics, rowing, basketball – and
we weren’t made aware of the event beforehand or the results afterwards
by the body in charge of the event
    .

In addition, we’ll be getting in contact with our regional journalists
to investigate the possibility of doing a piece with Danny Hart.

    Kind regards,

    BBC Sport Interactive

The bit in bold I found interesting…

There’s a couple of wee loops of singletracky green-blue grade stuff, good enough fun but really short. its all signed from the new (i think) car park and links up with all the other paths mentioned above

    edit to add a pic:

Awesome race, beyond awesome run by Danny Hart. The whip was ridiculous :D there were guys crashing out just trying to roll the jumps… There was at least one line higher up which I think he was literally the only person to hit on his race run

Freecaster I thought was spot on, there was a lot of whining on there about not showing the juniors but they obviously didn’t have the rights. The women’s was a mess as someone mentioned they were all at short intervals and catching each other on track, Rob Warner mentioned eight riders on course at one point…

Wouldn’t it be great if Buzz Aldrin could just travel the world, punching moon landing skeptics? He’d turn up at the front door with a clipboard, ask your name, probably he’d want to check ID or get you to ask a few simple questions, then pop you one. Then a little tick on the clipboard and off he’d go.

Had never seen the video clip before. “You’re a coward, and a…” *PUNCH* superb!

Surprised at that number of only 700

Along with all the other goings on today, I’ve seen a couple of rumours that Freecaster are being asked for $100k by UCI to cover world cups next year – obviously no idea if there’s any truth in that

Yep, apart from the fact it makes ‘freecaster’ a daft name I think it will definitely be worth it, I’ve paid my monies already :)

transporter13 – as I mentioned I use the My Tracks app on my phone but there are loads that do the same thing

It depends exactly what you want to do – if its just to work out some distances you can just draw the route onto a map using http://www.mapmyrun.com/routes/create/%5B/url%5D (other sites are available)

Anyone know anything about ‘CWS’ (Cooperative Wholesale Society) bikes from around the 1950s? Found a road bike called a Gipsy Moth when starting to clear out my grandparents’ house+garage

I know there are other sites/forums might be more relevant to ask but seeing as we’ve got a couple of random bikes on this thread.

No pics yet as it was precariously hanging from the roof and blocked in by lots of clutter

Anyway, to anyone southern based thinking about doing a No Fuss event in the future, I’d say go for it despite the distance

Don’t forget the next ’10’ is at Llandegla, might be closer for some

Wish I could make it to that one, really enjoyed Saturday despite starting slow and getting slower, and constantly getting confused about how far round the lap I was…

Doesn’t take long on Hearts website to find something like:

‘To utilise the power of sport, the popularity of football and Heart of Midlothian players as positive role models to motivate, educate, and inspire children, youths and adults within our community through a range of innovative and progressive programmes and events.’

If they expect their players to be role models and to inspire young people, there’s surely no way he can stay

Don’t think trailquests would be exciting or fun. Might be wrong but that’s my honest answer.
