The very same thing happened to me today – a couple of weeks since the service (inc new BB) and the crank came off (my road/commute bike)

I’ll go into the shop tomorrow and see what they say.

Can we add in parking as well? Not as dangerous, or a different kind of dangerous, but on my street (wide enough for parking on one side, about half of houses have driveways) lots of people park slightly/halfway/fully across the pavement.

I can usually squeeze by on foot but not everyone can. I think it’s a symptom of the same problem as texting while driving etc.

A “free” version of premiere will be easily available on the internet and should sort you out.

Just for avoidance of doubt, does this mean pirated/stolen?

Must remember that I can’t have an opinion on how anything looks as I don’t work as a graphic designer.

Similarly I will stop having opinions about food as I don’t have forty years experience in a kitchen.

He left THAT in communal bikeshed?

Sometimes I even take my bike *outside* – I’m just asking for it to be stolen really…

There’s also a cycle path all the way out from town, definitely the best way to get away at the end of the day (downhill) …

Weather pretty boring in Glasgow but everyone seemed to be driving/cycling with eyes closed. Police car (no lights/siren) through a red light was probably the highlight.

    Some impressive stats in here…

    Mine: 2775km, 25000m elevation

Probably another 1000km commuting not recorded.

Think I’ll set myself a target for next year, maybe 5000km…

    I’m a cheapskate so I bought a Halfords (Carrera) one for £300.

It’s pretty good mainly, but it folds down to the size of a house.

    Never.

Lots of road rage stories on here, I’ve cycled to work every day for years, get cut up etc all the time, but never got into a fight about it.

I must be doing something wrong…

From the vague description I’ve got absolutely no idea what you’re talking about, but I’m fairly sure “very punchable” isn’t a good thing to be thinking about anyone.

I was going to suggest Bellahouston.

I’m sure there used to be an outdoor gym next to Glasgow Airport, the other side from Renfrew, S end of Barnsford Road. Not sure if it’s still there.

after a 90 hour week… Tired people… working late at a weekend and not getting to ride bikes.

In two minds on this. One one hand when i screw up at work (often) I get no sympathy from customers by saying “but I’m working ever so hard…”

On the other hand, I never buy the magazine and I use the forum for free.

    Way way down the article:

further six amending budgets on the table in Brussels, some of which may entail returning funds to Britain, meaning the overall bill could yet be cut.

Trust this will still be an outrageous disgrace if we end up getting money back

    Dear Officer,

I’m sorry that irresponsible driving like mine leads you to have to put yourself in danger in the course of your work.

Thank you for your service, this has taught me an important lesson.

On the way to work last December, should have just stayed at home. Thought I had made it safely to the shelter of the city centre, then a gap between buildings did for me.

Have done various bits of it, but not all in one go. As the description says there are some hills – I’ve only ridden them loaded with touring bags so maybe they’re not too bad.

Double check the ferry timetables as they’re not the same through the winter (end of Oct until April I think).

What examples are there of the BBC misleading people or even being impartial? Just printing articles you don’t like or don’t agree with don’t count. I am looking for actual examples. From my reading of the BBC coverage (and listening to R4) it does have a bias, and that is towards the Yes campaign!

I think they’ve got a tough job and I’m not sure if there’s any deliberate bias or not.

The Nick Robinson/Alex Salmond edit didn’t look great for the BBC but not sure how it ended up the way it did.

A lot of people in Glasgow at the weekend were wound up by the report on the news on Saturday. It was balanced in that it presented Yes and No stuff from around Scotland, but it homed in on “the No campaign out in force in Glasgow city centre” and completely ignored the really huge Yes presence that was out as well.

Perhaps we could give a vote to anyone who likes to go on holiday here. Or anyone who might go on holiday here one day. Also whisky drinkers around the world. And Runrig fans.
