Overshoes. Don't inhibit circulation as they're an extra layer on the outside.

Used a Rendez on the back for a few sticky races. Loads of grip, doesn't seem any slower than a Crossmark overall.

    Summer: Ignitor front, Crossmark rear.
    Sticky: Ignitor front, Rendez rear.
    Mud: Medusa front and rear.
    Winter: Ignitor front, Highroller rear.

I have been known to run the Rendez on the front for steep courses (Inners british champs etc).

Racebike gets 62a on all above, other bike gets wirebeaded versions; the harder compound and extra weight make for great training.

Not as cheap to sign up as it was (Cost to sign up is users*$0.01, keeps numbers down so the developer can concentrate on features rather than scaling it). Really good though.

Few older generation ones about two, delicious comes to mind.

    0. Then I realised the speedo is on the front wheel.

Never noticed this on non-sale stuff.

Makes sense to do so where you have a large stock-differential; say lots of midgets appear and buy all the XS shoes or something.

thebikechain – When are you getting De Marchi in? Seeing as a certain supplier has taken over the franchise…

4200miles for me, in 320hours. As with HH45 above, riding is better quantified in hours than miles when you ride more than one discipline.

At the actual shop (Edinburgh, no idea about the others) people are queued up around the corner before they even open. A lot of the items are sold in-shop before you have a chance to see them online.

Worked out well for me, got all the sale stuff I wanted.

Smudger – Thanks for the heads up.

Gritter did the 20% hill in NQ this afternoon, was nice to see them out.

Roads were all clear, a credit to scottish highways, just a shame too snowy for me to ride.

Really? Until two days ago I had to drive on several inches of compressed snow to get to the M90.

G3 and G4s aren't supported by the latest OS, being a different architecture. You can run 10.5 though, which has only been replaced in the last few months.

A dual-g4 with 2GB of RAM is a more than usable machine, I have one as my backup machine, works great.

How about spending some cash on getting yourself made shorter so you can ride smaller and more visually appealing bikes? Of course, Ti isn't the best material for hiding gateness, due to it's thin profiles.

Impressive collection though, I hope they get ridden plenty.

Rocky Mountain is in the kitchen so 40ft. ish.

Sounds like a lovely big house. What's the address?

Bianchi is right behind the sofa so I can touch it while watching TV. Rest are about 20ft away in the hall.

did anyone else think the old farmer sitting on a quad bike on a mobile in a blizzard was a bit odd?

Saw him on Sunday just down from Loganlea, going rather fast in the opposite direction. Dog on the back looked like it was loving it.

Was up on Christmas Eve. Carried for over an hour at one point, stopped to dig a 2-man snow-shelter, and sledged on a survival bag for a bit. Pretty ace.

The most worrying bit was meeting two 14yo (ish) kids in trackies and trainers, with no hats, gloves, or anything else. They asked where Black Hill was, I told them, and tried to warn we were the only people through back-glen that day, and there was no visibility. This didn't phase them at all.

Alpine is the Olympic replacement IIRC.

Had Olympics on one wheelset, they only one ding I've had with them was straightened with a screwdriver and hasn't leaked air since.

Fenboy – Yep, off her rocker. We had a crazy Springer before, so it's not too much of a shock.

robgarrioch – German Shorthaired Pointer (GSP). Like a GWP they have two modes: sleeping/wuss/cuddles and MENTAL.

Tilly, our 6mo GWP. Like a Spinone, but more gangly.

Rollers are good for everything but strength workouts. Can easily do a hard tempo session on them. Much prefer them to riding the turbo, far less chance of getting bored.

Great video, wish I'd videoed my first attempts. Even now (after riding them for two years, originally bought for knee injury rehab) I put emphasis on getting going rather than getting clipped in, that way the wheels are spinning and you can move the bike under your COG to stay upright.

EUCC used it without my permission (not that it's actually Copyright or owt, but it would have been ice of them to ask).

We did ask, and you granted us permission. Still have the emails somewhere. Working in the bike industry is obviously affecting your memory already.

BTW, you run the stem that high and long?

Shop I used to work in has one of those campag toolkits. I was told it cost a few £k in the late 80s, so goodness knows how much now. All the headset related tools are 1", so bit limited on that front these days. I would love a mint-boxed one.

Bought a Park Master Chain Tool last year for doing my campag chains, is a lovely thing (and half the price of the campag one.

whats that cap/cover around the end of the crank arm on the raceface?

To stop the carbon being scratched/chipped/broken by rocks. To me that is the ultimate proof that even the manufacturers just do carbon for looks.

In fact, having looked again at the first pic i think it goes through between the legs above the bridge.

You mean just the way that the cable-mounts on the likes of a SID suggest you route the hose?

Ah, the recession, making fat punters everywhere realise that they're not even good enough to justify XT.

It is quite off saying that about XT rather than XTR.

I'm not one of them, but The Edinburgh cycling 'village' is quite small, I would imagine that there's someone who knows someone who knows exactly how this person gets his frames. What they do with that info is down to their conscience.

I just emailed a likely candidate about ten minutes ago. Companies house info and all. I'd be very surprised if thebikechain hadn't done similar.

MTB_crasher aka tracknicko were do you work ?

Maybe his address is available on his Companies House info?

(Doh, didn't realise last reply was two days ago, sorry for bubbling this up again)

    German Wirehaired Pointer.

Had a Spring in the flat, but I work at home so it was easy to give him the engagement they need everyday.

Emergency call out vets are *a bit* expensive, thats when Insurance is worth paying for.

You want to try being on the other end of the 3am call with the owner who's dog won't lie in it's basket so it must be ill!
