Ours is a bit of a sun worshipper too. Will squeeze your legs into the couch as she tries to grab the rays coming through the windows in the morning.

The Apple bashing on here is amusing, but no-one ever offers a suggestion on something better.

How about a Palm Pre? Lol.

It's in good company, the LHC is closed for all of 2011.

Campag 10speed needs proper joining tool too, most shops don't have one of those to start with.

It's hardly latest technology, it's been available to purchase for two years now. Bad join in the first place?

njee20 – Were you riding Eggbeater MXR pedals at the weekend? Might explain where those 13 minutes went.

They are using the extra distance as training, hence why they are faster than you.

But yeah, it is a bit tight.

It took Mark Beaumont 195 days, which set the current World Record. Nutter!

Actually it's 175 days by James Bowthorpe.

I hope you've updated the stock on your website to reflect these thefts. Would be a first.

The only reason the spares seem expensive, is that they are never discounted to the same extent as the original unit to which they fit.

I reckon there's a bit of Gillette marketing going on: sell the razor cheap, at a loss or cheap, make spare blades expensive.

I see your point if you bought XTR because (when) it was cheap, rather than because it is the best (opinions aside). If you're willing to compromise on the best, that's probably fair enough if you're actually paying for it as opposed to being given it (free or heavily discounted).

A Ferrari doesn't get raced through the mud and wear out after a month.

Wow, you must do one hell of a lot more racing than I do, since I get a full season out of a set of XTR rings on my race bike. Granny ring has been used around ten times only in nearly four years, impressed people are wearing those out.

Most people could destroy a set of Ferrari tyres in less than a day, you just need to drive hard enough (hopefully on a track).

*obligatory you wouldn't buy a ferrari if you can't afford to replace the tyres post*

forge197 – Where about was this triple-line-choice? Can't remember it, but then I can barely describe any trail or recognise it in a picture despite doing two practice laps and five in the race.

    SHHHHHHHH!!!!!! They're a secret!

Ran one on the front with a Crossmark on the rear for SXC Kirroughtree this past weekend. Awesome tyre, heaps of grip yet super fast. 2.1 62a run tubeless.

ianpinder – I have a friend who is sending me one, but several companies such as bundlebox.com will order one for you and deal with the import hassles etc.

Here is the official statement they received from HMRC regarding the import duty: http://bundletech.com/blog/2010/03/no-import-duty-on-the-ipad/

Which? have a writeup on the total costs: http://gadgetynews.com/get-apple-ipad-in-uk-before-anyone-else-without-leaving-the-country/

Pricing is probably pretty close to what we'd pay anyway, but you get one early so you can have fun pulling it out in the train etc (for testing apps actually).

Also worth noting is that Apple honour the warranty on mobile devices worldwide. So should (when!) something goes wrong, it's not problem getting it sorted out locally.

Actually, reading the 2009 budget, it's not entirely clear if it applies to just people earning over £150k:

There will be a top rate of income tax for 2010/11 of 50% (42.5% on dividends) for individuals with incomes of more than £150,000. The rate applicable to trusts will also rise to 50% (42.5% on dividends) from 6 April 2010.

You're bothered about having to pay VAT online, but not the extra 32.5% on dividends?

I honestly thought that the previous issue was one of the best in quite some time. Only flicked through this months looks good so far.

Best MTB mag going IMO, only other things worth getting hold of (despite their expense) are Embrocation, Rouleur, and The Ride Journal.

If you don't like something, don't buy it.

Have one on pre-order in the states. US price + VAT + UK shipping. HMRC have declared no import duty on them.

Worry Gill was IN NO WAY TECHNICAL. It's merely a drop that required a bit of balls.

Hated the start to that race, basically watched the top three ride away while the people between me and them minced it up. You can see my trackstanding at the top of that drop while the faceplanter is moved out of the way at 1min in that video.

Love Crossmarks, more so on the rear as I've found them a bit washy on the front in loose conditions. I pretty much ride one in all conditions.

Currently trying out a Maxxis Aspen on the front as a better partner than an Ignitor or a Highroller.

I run the eXCeption casing ones tubeless, not found them to be fragile at all, although a season of racing will wear the tiny skim of rubber off the sidewall threads.

so who shot the dog this time?

TJ did it. In the dining room. With the revolver.

He also shot JR while he was at it.

on any occasion on which there are grounds for reasonable apprehension that it will injure any person, whether or not it actually does so

Again you misread this. 'reasonable apprehension' will cover actual aggressive behaviour. A dog just running up to you is not aggressive behaviour. If that was the case, the courts would be chock-full of cases about dogs running up to people. I'd recommend hiring a solicitor to have them explain this clearly to you.

it does read like that – wrong subsection perhaps

Perhaps you better phone your local MP to inform them the law as it currently stands is null and void due to an incorrect subsection classification.

TJ – Are you sub 5' and a parking attendant? Talk about officious jobsworth.

And C3 subsection (b) only applies to a non-public place. Off back to college with you till you can read statute properly.

By the very nature of live sport we cannot always guarantee that things won't run on. Eurosport is not watched only by cycling fans, it is for all sports fans, and sometimes we need to make concessions for other sports.

You can sync only selected albums or events in the Photos tab in iTunes. I use Smart Albums to break my photos up by year, and only sync the last two years, and maybe some select older stuff.

Given the over-hyped nature of Swinley and it's 'super tech' trails, I'd probably have punched someone in the face if they'd run into me while I was there.

No need for that sort of thing going on. Maybe he was just upset that he could see your bigger-than-his assets with all your lycra on.

Classic Flite I bought in 1999, Camelbak CloudWalker in 2001.

Not much else I have lasts more than a few years; race kit gets used for a limited time then sold, other kit just gets destroyed.

Unlike a regular phone which becomes obsolete and doesn't have the latest thing etc etc, the iPhone is just a software update away from having the latest stuff.

I still have my original iPhone, bought on day 1. I still love it, even without the nicer camera or GPS. Battery still holds a decent charge after newly 30months too.

Good to see lots of good positive arguments on this thread. Definitely for Terry's view that you should have respect for those working on a contraflow, and stick to the limit.

Drove through the Carlisle works on Friday evening. Loads of people doing frankly silly speeds through them to save what only amounts to a minute or two added to their journey.

Generally find the A9 to be OK if you drive sensibly and try to avoid anyone who is driving a bit lairy. Not always possible though as mentioned above.

Will the sealant just gunk up in the bottom of the tyre if it's left for too long?

Just pulled a pair of my race wheels out of storage after five months. The Stan's Solution had pooled and solidified in the bottom of the tyre, so I scraped it out and am going to put new stuff in.

One lap each all through the night is a tactic I've used with teams to good success over the years. You barely need to sleep anyway, just resting for a half hour is enough, after you've cleaned your bike, fueled up, and put some fresh kit on.

Pairing up in the night just ends up with tight-legs, grogginess, and exhaustion later on due to the quick successive effort involved with doing that.
