The Subway 2 has the same frame as the higher up spec Kracken so should upgrade well into a trail HT.

Halfords currently have 20% off web orders which would bring the 9sp X5 equiped Kracken down to just £320 atm. This also means the Subway 2 only costs £240.

There are bike racks on the X32 and X94 cross country services in N Wales. However, due to H&S regs there is only one stop that we are allowed to load and unload bikes.

Machynlleth (Nant Y Moch Res/Dyfi Forest), Llanwrtyd Wells (Doethie Valley/Irfon Valley Loop) or Llanrwst (Drum/Llyn Cowlyd Loop/Sarn Helen) all spring to mind.

I love atheists. The most zealous of the zealots.

The term Zealot, in Hebrew kanai (????, frequently used in plural form, ?????), means one who is zealous on behalf of God. The term derives from Greek ??????? (zelotes), "emulator, zealous admirer or follower"

Why go for boring standard rings when with a bit of imagination you can get some that are a little different.

If the proposed rings are constructed from old bits of glass this will reduce the shadow problem whilst more importantly introduce a funky glittering rainbow effect.

They usually do. I've only heard of a couple of occasions where there was a bit of overweld that needed clearing out to before fitting a normal reducer headset or the e13 cups which have the same insertion depth.

Make sure you clear anything out before trying to fit the cups as otherwise the cups may go fully in but be putting abnormal stresses on the headtube welds which could lead to premature failure.

IMO it is because they go past the pretty short maximum insertion levels designed by Cannondale so Hope cannot guarantee the cups will go fully into the headtube without fouling on something.

I tend to enjoy DH DVD's more than FR so, in no particular order as they say, my top 3 is :-

Between The Tape (F1RST and The Tipping Point are technically better but I prefer the feel of this one)
Earthed 3 (The Mega footage inches this one ahead of the other Earthed films IMO)
Virtuous (Less well known European riders but I've watched it a fair few times over the last couple of months because it's a little different. There is some great riding, filming and editing in it)

Saint 810's. More brake than you'll ever need. Usually.

Not so much the in brakes, more bargain brakes. Wiggle have 185mm Juicy 5's for £57 each end. They also have 200mm front Juicy 5's for a little less, Monster overkill Code 5's for £80 an end and top end Elixir CR's for a ton a pop.

On proper tubeless rims there is a groove in the middle of the rim. Pushing the bead into this all the way round wil give you enough slack to get the tightest of tyres off.

Blackspire Chuck Stainless Steel grannies last years as long as you keep on top of your chainwear.

but perhaps there could be other measures introduced to reduce accidents involving buses and other road users.

Teaching other road users it's not healthy to try and beat the bus when they pull out of side roads or to be the third or even fourth car to try and overtake a bus pulling away from a stop when there's cars coming the other way AFTER it's already started moving. You can communicate all you want, there are a significant number of selfish road users that really don't care and see it as their right to get in front of you. They are usually to be found driving executive saloons, rep mobiles or commercial vehicles not requiring an extra licence to drive.

Pump any lumps in the corner to maintain even traction through the corner

Pump through shorter corners. Push down on the pedals (lift your body) as you brake just before the corner. As you start to turn allow your weight to drop down again so that your weight is coming down on the outside pedal once the bike is leant over, your bodies downward momentum it adds extra downward force to the pedal and tyres hence more grip. Push your weight back up as you exit the turn to get the same effect.

Weight up the front end a little more on loose turns then lean back slightly as you pedal out to get better rear wheel traction.

Go light as you change turning direction making it easier to swap the lean of the bike over whilst adding pressure to the next turn.

Use any proud roots or ruts running parallel to your line for a little extra grip.

Pull up on the outer grip to put even more pressure on the inner grip and outer pedal.

Civitanova is only 40 miles from 2500m Monte Vettore. There's also quite few 100m high ridges inland and to north of the town IIRC.

Theoretically you should be able to stay fairly close to a lorry in front if you keep aware as a car should always out-brake a lorry.

Empty lorries and buses will slow down just as fast as a car. It's only when they are loaded that it becomes harder to stop. The front of the car will still stop before it reaches the front of the lorry though ;)

Pedal well, great cornering due to a low BB but comes with the associated pedal clearance issues.

Evans have the on offer for £599.

They are also doing long Sunday's for £999

    Mostly positive reviews on MTBR

I'm talking about the Pierre Joseph Proudhon types who think that paying to park at a trail centre is a ripoff

I suppose that's why I don't go to them much anymore as I don't feel they provide value in what they supply to me personally. I would be happy to pay a premium over other users for significant provision of advanced trails if it would help in their building and upkeep.

I'm not sure that anyone has argued that. No-one on here can be as naiive to think that the trails would survive the high level of use without maintenance.

Trails are not maintained for their survival. They are maintained to keep them at a certain technical level based upon the trail centres commercial model. If you don't maintain a trail it just gets harder and IMO more interesting.
