see i think i was gripping with my legs as well as i have rubbed the inside of my leg sore on the seatstay!!

also remember getting a bit of pain in my leading foot/leg too!!

Thats not what Inzane means (well i don't think it is), as a flat pedal rider, when i am going downhill over anything bumpy or rocky my feet have the heels dropped and my legs bent and loose but not so loose that they aren't supporting the bulk of my body which relieves the preesure on your arms. Its also good to swap your leading foot about so that the back of your legs don't to knackered. Also as others have mentioned move your brakes inboard so that your braking finger lines up with the hook on your lever when your hand is holding onto the bars so its a nice straight line through your arm. And that the angle of the lever is in line with your hand up through your wrist to your shoulder so that the back of your hand and wrist aren't strained either way when at rest on the lever. Grips are a personal thing, i like the ruffian as its skinny and very grippy but some prefer a chunkier grip.

hope that helps oh and relax being relaxed always helps, singing a song helps 🙂

Cool, rode that (not all of the traverse mind) last week, the little ups on the exposed bits are killer!

I also managed to test the swiss rescue service on a simple bit of vertigo 2 🙄

Have you tried this? remove the rubbery plastic cover that sits between the bearing and the crank on the bb cups. Then gently pop off the seal of the bearing with a small screw driver or knife and pack with fresh grease re fit the seal and the plastic cover.

i’ve had a hope one in for nearly a year now and it gets used alot and in all weathers developed a slight creak the other day so i took it out, gently pulled off the dust cap type seal that sits between the bearing and the crank regreased the bearing popped it back in and bobs your uncle creak is gone and cranks spin smoothly again. So, so far so good. Gets my recommendation over the shimano ones that i have used and the useless raceface one that lasted 2 months!

surely you’d be better with the 32’s then? Unless your problem with the pike was snapping/bending them having 130mm 36’s just seems overkill?

the pike problem is the damper cartridge 4th one! so i am looking at alternatives i like the stiffness of the pike and the 36’s over the old 32 but havent ridden the new 15mm bolt thru 32’s. So in my head a 36 talas set at 130 will be as good as a pike, probably stiffer and a little bit lighter aswell and for more dh days wind it out to 160.

I hadn’t seen the bikeradar review, cheers its the 36 i am after but i assume the same improvements apply as for the new 32.

i should add they are to replace a pike which keeps having problems so i will be running them at 130/140 for the most part which is where the talas comes in or i get a float and get them set to 130/140 as having them at 160 slackens the bike out a bit to much for normal riding.
