Be interesting to see it after 5yrs. Can’t help but thinking it’ll look tired, especially that 650mm roof border/guttering he fell out with the architect over. Looked pretty poorly finished new.

I liked his approach to life. I’ve got all this work to do to finish my partner/wife’s apartment for the sake of her health but **** it, I’m spending half my day relaxing on the lawn :-)

Last weeks couple are busy pimping themselves around the internet.  They posted on a Victorian and Edwardian renovation FB group for some reason despite being a newbuild.

This weeks was great. Loved the re-use of all the old light switches, bar rails etc.

There’s a reluctance to let kids go.

I witness some of this with the wife. Our kids are 11 and 9, she’s still happy to do absolutely everything for them.  They’re never made to pick up stuff they throw on the floor, get themselves a drink when they want one etc. It’s infuriating.

Have you tried your phone sim in another phone?

Does the router sim work in your phone?

I’d be trying to isolate whether its an issue with your phone or sim.

As per daffy…you can even buy heat shrink connectors with the solder already within them.  Much neater for a small cable than the big connection blocks above:

Like this with some black heat shrink over the top if you want to colour match.

    What needs fixing?

Are the wires just exposed or properly broken?

Isn’t this the second issue you’ve had with this daughter/school recently (moved sets in the other thread?)

If so, and it is your daughters GCSE year you need to stay calm not go nuclear as others have pointed out above.

less impressed with the boring garden.

    That’ll mature in though.

They came across reasonably well. Presuming the relationship with the farmer was true and they kept him sweet for access to his son and equipment.

    Yadontsay??

He’s the motoring expert. Paddy’s an entertainer. Have you not seen them before?

I thought thought Chris had the funniest, possibly unscripted, line…

    Paddy: Nice building

Chris: when did you start to have architecture sympathies….cos, I’ve seen your house.

I wouldn’t have wanted to be in TdP in trainers tbh, there wasn’t a paved road for miles and it could be a bit muddy.

Of course there’s no paved roads, you wouldn’t want there to be.  But plenty of it was just tracks, with the odd bit of rocks.  Definitely doesn’t require proper hiking boots and could be done in walking trainers unless the weathers really bad.  If the OP wants a link to our photos from the W trek drop me a dm and I’ll send the link so you can see the terrain.

From the photos we spent most of our couple of days in Santiago climbing San Cristobal and then in Bella Vista (eating at PatioBellaVista) and just mooching about the streets and other parks.

I did the W trek 12yrs ago. All doable in trainers back then, no gardening gloves required either. This was last week of April though, not August.

In Santiago was walked up the mountain and went on the fenicula. I’m busy this weekend but I’ll car an eye over the photos and see where else we went in Santiago (we spent most of our time in Chile but went to Val Paraiso, the Lakes and Vinyards!)

Get on some owners forums as said above.

There’s always someone helpful with a code tool thats happy to help.

Have you phoned back your local garage and asked if they coded the new pump correctly, checked wiring etc?

Could well be the additive tank itself or wiring loom rot.

Interesting YouTube video on this link where they’ve replaced the pump like you but still had the code:
    https://www.peugeotforums.com/threads/p1435-and-p1434-fault-on-peugeot-3008.345827/

Seems there’s a different option in the scan tool to use. Also talks of wiring loom rot about 30cm from the pump so should be easy to check.

Get on google and the telephone and find a local diesel/peugeot specialist.

The new apprenticies at the main dealer won’t know anything about a 2013 car….you’ve just wasted £120.

I’m surprised he had permission to bring the front of the property so far forward compared to his neighbours.

I wonder how much he paid off the planners and neighbours with.  Should have been rejected purely on the basis he knocked the old one down instead of renovating!

And leaving that chimney teetering after the demolision!!!!

Cheers, it’s a very narrow cavity…probably only 50mm so most likely going to struggle to do that.  House was built around 1900-1904.

I’ve just picked up a Dell Latitude 5440, i5 vpro 1345u (13th Gen), with 16GB and 512Gb NVMe SSD delivered for £330 from eBay.

Not a mark on it, power key still has sticker on it…it’s basically brand new.

eBay seems cheaper than refurbished shops and if you place a few machines in your watch list you’ll get plenty of discounted offers from the already decent buy it now prices.

I really hope they picked up all the scattered parts from the beetle too.

This is what irks me slightly…they’ll never get every piece.  Just needless destruction of the environment as they’ve paid off an offical somewhere.

I haven’t got one to pass down :-)

Hence starting to look at refurbs but it’s a minefield of i5, i7, and gen 5,6,7,8,9,10,11 etc of each.

Screen size, RAM and storage I can work out. What’s junk and what isn’t on the processor for basic browsing and homework sites I’m confused on.

You need to map out the pattern before you start. That’ll then tell you what you have wear.  Draw lines in the centre of the floor and then start from there building outwards.

As a slight aside, I don’t think we’ve had the usual yearly my son/daughter going to secondary school needs a laptop thread…

I seem to recall in previous years some recommendations of websites to pick up some cheaper stuff than the OP is looking at. Anyone got any recommendations where to start?

Squish are also worth a look if Frog a bit out of price range.  From the same formula as Isla and Frog bikes.

Great bikes, my two were on them from 2.5yrs old. Seamless transition from balance bikes.

Well worth the money as they’ll enjoy riding them so much more.

Don’t use Wisecars. They’ve just sent me through my voucher for Saturday and told me to check in with Hertz. Hertz systems say they’ve cancelled my reservation.

Wisecars were easy to get hold of on the phone but could only offer me a smaller car for the same price or pay double the initial booking for a bigger car. They were happy to cancel my booking though.

Hopefully sorted at a reasonable price due to the autoeurope suggestion above, so thanks @rone. Only cost me £30 more than the original booking when all the other options were at least £200 more.

Take out protection before you arrive….it only costs a few quid for a week if bought in advance.

This guy was a PistonHeads user who started a YT channel fixing up bangers and then moved to EVs years ago before they properly took off. He’s just bought a 188000 mile electric van:

His 2nd video on it is about the battery… which tests as retaining 83%.

So with 40k, you’ll be fine.

Sailing seems confusing. All tracking on different lines and different directions. Womens pair from Netherlands were miles infront earlier but seemed to get lost after the last turn and not head for the finish line. Sweden crossed the line first but Netherlands were awarded gold ???

Genuine question, are armed police allowed you take their hands off their weapons in a situation like that?

I think you’re looking for something like this if you can’t be bothered watering down normal white, not a smoothing basecoat you linked:
    https://www.diy.com/departments/leyland-trade-super-leytex-brilliant-white-matt-bare-plaster-paint-10l/5010426824062_BQ.prd?storeId=1311&&&&&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwzIK1BhAuEiwAHQmU3nNPCZ3xOtCR4v3bjVEbAofezTrSGyvcZDOSFUPIwP9J0m9iROsLCxoCQiwQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

I’ve used this on bare plaster without issue.

Started leaving our daughter for 10min or so from late 10’s. She’s mid 11’s now but if its over half an hour she’d still rather come with us than be left alone.
