Hope every time, my Mini’s are nearly 4 years old, still going strong.
Easily rebuildable and, more importantly, spare parts are cheap.

@nicko74 – I know what you mean, I’ve been reading all these stories about Ti frames cracking, was like waiting for the inevitable.
    Great fun while it lasted.

If it was Litespeed I wouldn’t have got a replacement…

Off today, did the borrowdale bash, second dry run of the year so far!

    Fig rolls and bananas.
Jelly babies if it’s a group ride, it’s good to share.

I really like my Soda, had it for three and a half years and in no hurry to replace it.
I think all the magic is in the shape / geo, titanium just adds a little ‘softness’ and obviously weighs less.

The best thing about it is the frame cleans up like new after every ride, bare metal is the way forward.

I have a Brooks Team pro which I use for touring and commuting.
It’s taken a while to break in but is now really comfy.
I got the Brown leather and it now has a nice antique/worn look to it.

I would definitely recommend investing in a Brooks, just not right before a long tour

    +1 for the Soda.

Still my favourite bike after 3 and a half years.
Mine has a few dents but hopefully it’ll last a while longer.

Borrowdale bash with some extra cheeky bits.
Apparently the sun may be out to play tomorrow?

I have a Wild Country Duo-lite Tourer, big enough for 2 people and two bikes (laid down) in porch, not too heavy, not too expensive, designed to fit into an Ortlieb 40L pannier.

    Duolite

    Perfect until I can afford/justify a Hilleberg.

Did the bash yesterday, conditions are perfect.
Enough drizzle to put off the ramblers, but we didn’t really get wet….
Great Tea Shop in Grange near the end of the ride as well.

    +1 for Dog and Gun.

Got the older 661 evo’s, very comfy and light.
Could do with a bit more ‘structure’ to keep the pad in shape, seems like the newer ones are much better design, expensive though.

A very wet n muddy bimble round whinlatter, me and GF hid under a tree to avoid the hail stones…..priceless.

    Happy new year!

I’ve never had a car, I’ve always lived in big cities with lots of public transport options. I enjoy the daily ride to work… but since moving to NW cumbria, I don’t have a handy rail system to rely on. Might have to get one of these internal-combustion wagons….

Definately get a sturdy tourer (or slick mtb) with rack n guards.
And dedicated commuting gear, as it gets ruined, save the shiny gear for the weekends.

No dabs for me, 15 miles without a single set of traffic lights
One of the reasons I moved up to cumbria

Lovely build, I’m currently rebuilding my 08 Soda, don’t reckon I’ll get anywhere near the weight of that.
    Must climb hills by itself….

Enjoyed the sun, with some cracking cumbrian singletrack.

I’m so glad spring is here, I just can’t wait until the days get longer!!

I ride 17 miles each way, now the ice has gone I’m riding five days a week again.
Nice contouring ride through the cumbrian hills.

Sometimes isn’t the most appealing prospect on cold dark mornings but I love riding home, nice to unwind at the end of the day.

Ti has a more lively feel.
My bike feels sprightly when climbing (yes, I also like going up hills) even with pretty heavy tyres and wheels.
It also looks almost brand new every time I clean the filth off it.
I’ve never regretted spending the extra cash over steel…but I think Ti bolts are daft.

5’10” here on a medium Soda, perfect fit.
Started with an 80mm stem now got a 70, TT is nice and long so don’t need the saddle too far back on the rails.

Never met a fellow Cotic rider without a smile on their face….

Rode, scrambled, swore our way to the top of the Old Man of Coniston.
Camped for the night in a storm.
Woke up to thick fog, managed to scramble down a few hundred metres and then barrel down the rest of the way in torrential rain.
Greasy rocks, dodging walkers, used quite a few of my nine lives.
    Awesome.

    Lezyne Pressure Drive Medium.
Works well, looks pretty, dead light.

    Another G-Shocker here.
Survived with just a scratch when I shattered my elbow.
I really like the chunky plastic styling as well.

Osprey Talon – nice and light, 33L is a good size.
Vaude Alpin – had one for years, its 30L and bombproof.

And a carbon Nomad for the commute…

Haven’t ridden the 456 but I love my Soda.
Rides beautifully with 130 and flies with a rigid fork.
It’s a comfortable but not flexy frame and climbs like a mountain goat.
Wish I had the skills to match it

Lost the love a few years ago after working as a bike courier, I’d just had enough of bikes I think.
Bought a ss mtb on a whim and it felt like being a kid again.

I moved to the lake district late last year and even though it’s cold, wet and grey, I love being out on me bike again…even got my GF riding…in winter!

Try riding somewhere new or with new people, works a treat.
