I had a poo brown one as well, awesome bike!

450mm reach on a medium in 2009, well ahead of it’s time. As above, the main reason I moved it on was the straight head tube.

I’m surprised spesh haven’t bought it back as a chunky, no nonsense trail bike.

If we club together we could do an A-Team style build.

This is why I’d never buy a posh vehicle, even if I could afford it.

I go a few times a month, last film was once upon a tim in Hollywood, which was great.

I’m lucky to live in walking distance of the Royalty cinema in bowness. Cheap with tons of character, if you’re lucky you get a Wurlitzer organ performance while you’re waiting for the film. Audience is always well mannered and they don’t sell stinky nachos \ hot dogs. And they have an ice cream lady before the film starts…

Also Zeffirellies in Ambleside is a short drive, as above with great veggie food before.

These are the only cinemas where I buy a drink and snacks, because I’m Keen to support them. I’m amazed how often there are less than ten people in the Royalty. Support your local independent cinema!

    Thanks for the write up.

I’ve got time off in September, doing the LLC is one of my options. Looks like a winner.

2.3 Agressor is the perfect all year round tyre for me, will probably go Exo+ for the next one.

Rolls quick and copes with everything but thick mud. Luckily my local trails are mainly rocky.

    I really enjoyed it.

I liked the fact the ‘mystery’ was secondary to the growth and developement of the characters. I agree the timeline jumps were jarring at first, I settled into after the second epsiode.

I was really invested in the whole thing, thought the acting was superb.

I’m going to rewatch series one this week.

The first gig I ever went to was the Prodigy in Wolverhampton in 96.

My older brother took me, as I was too young at the time. I had an amazing, formative experience.

    RIP Keith.

Surprised no one from Sick has jumped on this thread, they’re normally far more entertaining.

Continental 4 season are my commuter tyre, grippy, fast, not too heavy.

I can see it from both sides.

It’s disappointing that a section of my favourite local ride is gone (for now)  but I understand that the farmer needs access. Thats their livelihood.

So, serious question, what would be the best way to ‘resurface’ a trail like this? How would you keep all end users happy? I don’t know what the answer is…. Anybody?

Looks like a 28 will squeeze in there, I’ll be patiently waiting for the frames to drop in Nov /Dec.

Thanks for the quick response by email as well :)

Thanks for the pic kazafaza,  That’s good to know, I was just reading the info on the site.

I’m currently running 28mm and guards on my old audax frame, perfect for cumbrian roads.

The endurance 725 looks great, like a budget Equilibrium.

Shame (and surprising) it only takes 25mm tyres with guards.

I was a courier for 18 months in manchester, after graduating.

I was lucky as I had retainer with a print firm, so got a basic wage and then topped up if it was busy.

Great fun and my fitness was brilliant, I was a machine! I got knocked off a few times, nothing too serious. One of my fancy solicitor clients helped me with an injury claim, I bought a cotic soda 😋

I enjoyed it but have no desire to do it again. If I was looking for that kind of work I think a driving delivery job would be a better call, supermarket maybe?

Highlights for me: Quintana’s ride through the cobbles, shame he hasn’t followed through in the mountains, Allaphilippe’s stage win, Degenkolb’s stage win, that was an emotional one and, of course, Sagan being Sagan.

I’m enjoying the fact we’re in the last third of the race and the GC is still to play for. Do we think the reduced team sizes have helped?

Agree about Dumoulin, he’s looked great so far. Think I read somewhere that Sunweb are taking on another named sponsor for next year, be fantastic for Tom to have some more support riders that can cope with the mountains.

    Alaphillipe is the new Voeckler?

    Another fantastic ride by Dumoulin.

    Great stage!

I think the froome vs G ‘palace intrigue’ is being over hyped.

Froome is obviously still number one, as someone above stated this is actually taking pressure off Froome. Less interviews and post race stuff. I think Froome will have a surprise planned for today.

I hope big Tom can stay in contention and Nairo can attack on his preferred terrain. Landa seemed to be struggling yesterday, hopefully he’s better today to work with Nairo. I still think Movistar are the best option to crack Sky, no other team seems close. Where are Astana?

Great ride by big Tom, hopefully sunweb can invest in some more help for him for next year.

Aggressor for me as well. Fast rolling but with enough bite for chunky climbs in the lakes.

    At least Movistar are trying!

Hopefully another team will put pressure on sky.

That was a very tense watch. Really pleased nairo made it through, impressive stuff.

Very emotional ending with degenkolb, fantastic win for him. Glad to see him back.

I had the same with a hd / nn combo, the nobby nic constantly oozed. Never seemed to lose air though.

Then the Hans dampf delaminated and lots of lumps and bubbles appeared.

I’ve just fitted a set of maxxis, minion and aggressor, so we’ll see how they get on.

I had an old style swb, bike went straight in with wheel turned.

Was fine to drive and super reliable, if its a good price, go for it.

    I also have a Nordisk Telemark 2.

Fantastic tent, very sturdy for just over 900 grams. Just big enough for two, perfect as a comfortable one man option. Less flappy than a lot of the tents I looked at, the corner poles make it really easy to pitch tautly.

Fits nicely into a large alpkit possum frame bag 😊

Running 130 on mine with a standard headset. I thought I’d extend to 140 on the forks, but I never felt the need.

Feel more confident downhill than my previous 150mm frame, which was slacker. It’s great fun to ride but also good at covering ground and big days out.

More importantly, what colour are you getting?

    Continental gp 4 season 32mm.

I have these on my cross bike, great all weather roads tyre and we regularly take detours through the woods / forestry tracks. Nice and light and good puncture protection.

I had a ti frame that cracked, replaced with a steel frame. Exactly the same geometry and components, the only difference was a couple pounds of weight and the steel frame was noticably stiffer.
At first I could feel the extra weight when lifting in the van but the steel frame rode much better. The lack of flex and more direct feel far outweighed the tiny difference in weight.

Since then weight has been low on my list of overall priorities. I do like lighter wheels, within reason like a Stan’s arch, as I’m pretty light and I do think it helps on a 29er.

I went into a newly opened, very shiny lbs recently to talk to a mechanic about a fault with my bike. This was a Thursday, they said they wouldn’t have a mechanic all weekend.
I’m lucky enough to have a few good shops nearby so went to another, they had five mechanic s in the open workshop area. Really helpful, managed to look at my bike later that day.
Guess which shop I still use?

Fortunately I live in the lakes, so 90% of my rides are from the door. They do often involve the chain ferry accross Windermere, is that cheating?

I do enjoy sticking bike in the van for a trip to Scotland, Wales or even north lakes.

Bleep is great, nice website design as well.
Often when buying record you get an instant mp3 download
I like supporting bleep as they are the retail offshoot of Warp Records, so the money goes to more great records.
Juno is good, although website is quite clunky.

Just for more / less balance I’m 5 10 and also ride a large.
It is a great bike though, perfect (for me) allrounder.
Feels more conifidence inspiring than my old 150mm frame but that did have tiny wheels
