Just received my set from On-One, went for 2.25 f+r, look about the same as 2.35 HRs, first non Maxxis tyres I’ve had for a while.
    Can’t resist a bargain

I put my old Pace forks on for the winter, rode the same trails (north lakes natural and whinlatter) as normal, enjoyed how direct and light the front seemed.
Wrists do ache a bit on rocky stuff and the 180 rotor is a bit twangy….
tempted to keep them on for a bit, hoping it’ll improve my skill level

Would love an ST4 (in green) but Ms Soda needs a new drivetrain first, she’ll always be my first love

I’ve got a little savings pot going so we’ll see.

Keep the bike until spring, go for a ride and then decide what to do.
Any train stations near you? lots of new riding options out there….

Spiritualized – last year at the Academy in manchester.
They played the whole of “Ladies and Gentlemen we are Floating In Space” with a gospel choir and strings, was immense.

Kevevs- Just read about Trish from Broadcast. Such a shame.
Some them at Night and Day in manchester, tiny bar, lots of people, ace gig.

    About 18 miles each way.
Waterproof 3/4s over tights, shimano winter boots, merino socks and base layer, normally just a windproof jacket unless it’s really wet.
never found a glove that keeps my hands dry, Gore ones keep me warm tho.

Full mudguards, glasses and a peaked helmet are a must.
Gloves straight from the radiator at the end of the day

I’m expecting triple compound, that’s what I ordered and it still says so on the site.
My first order on On-One, could be my last…..

Got a stainless TA one which has lasted pretty well. Much better than the XT one it replaced, which seemed to be made of cheese…

Baggies over tights or 3/4s, think they look alright.
Baggies are a bit tougher for when I’m bumsliding down the trail.

Hex for me, seems to stay put, doesn’t look too goofy and cheap(er).
    Winner.

Montane Featherlite is great – dead light and fairly weather proof.
Not very tough though, both elbows are duct-taped on mine.
I heard elbow patches were back in….

Windstopper or Powershield tops are good, water resistant, windproof and they can take a bit of stick.
+1 for zip-off sleeves – makes a top much more versatile.

I recieved a full set of Lifeline tools (off wiggle) two xmas’ ago, apart from stickers coming off, nothing has bent or broken, recommended.
Has made a massive difference to my confidence when servicing my bikes.

Only thing I’ve needed to buy was a 1.5mm hex… nearly threw my Revs out the window first.

I ended up buying a Decathlon bike for my gf, she loves it!
Frame is basic but 15″ fitted really well. Swapped tyres, bars, pedals, saddle and stem.
Components were cracking at the price, I’ve said I’ll buy her a nice frame if she rides enough this summer.
Fit and colour are definitely the main things, I wanted to get her a Kona (better frame) but it was the wrong colour and too long…

Not so bothered about stifness but MW80’s definitely keep my feet warmer and dryer than cheap shoes, most important thing at this time of year, they certainly aint light or pretty though.

    Another vote for Gore sealed.
Two years and counting, still shifts as quick as day one.
Noticed they do white ones as well now, are they a bit wrong?

Agree with Al, I lived with an aussie for about a year in manchester.
Was a right laugh..and into bikes, although he kept referring to his Rocky Mountain as a ‘Dually’….
The rest of the housemates changed fairly regularly, not alot in common but enough to share a bbq.
Keep looking, there’s alot out there

Bought myself a Tifosi CK7 light tourer for my newly acquired cumbrian commute. Not very glamourous but functional and cheap.
The frame dimensions are better (imo) than the Ribble ( they seem to have tiny headtubes = lots of spacers under stem).
Four months old now, only had to adjust mudguards and take up cable stretch.

XT HT2 lasted a year and a bit, Hope seems to be doing well so far.

UN53 on my singlespeed is going on 5 years of rarely being cleaned, still goes round in circles very nicely

I have Singletrack shorts and 3/4s, going on two years old, cant fault them.
Event shorts are brilliant pieces of kit (better than the new PTFE version IMO ), I live in Cumbria, so they get alot of use, no problems so far.

Have used Endura gloves for a long time, Full Montys, Dexter, Strike, I have moved over to Gore in the last 6 months as I’ve found they fit better, purely personal taste, had no problem with quality, just found the fingers a little short.

Really good to see Jim representing Endura, I’ve always found their customer service to be brilliant (replaced the frame on my Stingray glasses in a matter of days) will happily keep buying alongside Gore stuff.

IME Altura not very well cut but does function ok.

Nice in a simple and functional way, feel comfortable going to the pub in it…sizing similar to endura, I wear the same in both brands.
Worth checking ebay, picked up a second one dead cheap a few weeks back

Not waterproof but will see of a decent shower, weighs nothing and pretty cheap.

Really like the Minion DHF on the back but find it clogs dead easy in the mud (i know its not a mud tyre before anyone pipes up ) , think HR or Advantage is better this time of year

Used to work there, they have some good stuff but be selective.
    Some of it is atrocious…
Bikes are great value but geometry is scary.

Inner tubes are cheap tho :D

Icebreaker is pricy, but I think the fit and quality is better than most merino out there.
Can usually pick it up cheaper end of season.
Not used embers, will have a peek…

Endura Stingrays, cheap, come with four lenses, dont look too geeky. Winner.
