Lighter tyres (Vertstar supergravity Hans Dampfs to Gatestar Nobby Nics), lighter forks (Lyrik coil DH to Fox Floats), Thomson Masterpiece (I have an Elite), tuned fox Kashima CTD shock and carbon bars. Will save approx 1.6lbs off total weight. In all reality tyres and forks will be changed to save over 1lb.

Things like ti bolts, carbon levers, carbon post, titanium pedal axles etc I will never have money for!

One thing I found was the SPD shoe I had a few years ago really didnt fit my feet for just pedaling. The width was wrong and therefore putting my arch in the wrong place. Also if you have been used to using flats and having your feet in a position that you dont get with SPDs then you are bound to have sore feet whilst you get used to them.

Ring Silverfish yourself and ask? Silverfish is just down the road from me, pity I own nothing except a chainring that they import.

I have been riding for bikes and havent improved at all. Its fun, its my escape, time with mates, whatever. I get as much of a buzz getting up a hill my mates dont compared to keeping up with them going down. That video is impressive, but how many times did he stop to allow the cameraman to go down a bit? Therefore how many times did he redo things if they didnt look complete or he dabbed with his foot?

Riding will only ever be a hobby for me, you generally ride to the level of your friends. You ride with super fast people, you will push yourself. If you ride with guys like that, I can imagne being challenged but bored. Id find the best fun blasting down that slightly rocky gravelly trail at the end at a faster pace.

A Samsung Galaxy S3 is still a cracking phone, should be available on most networks with decent packages for £20 per month. The S4 mini likewise is a great phone if you want something smaller, the S3 mini is a bit weak. The Ace unfortunately was very flawed with its limited internal memory and naff processor.

As said above you may find the wiring is there as they are often bundled together to save money. Its easier in the long run having one wiring loom than 3 or 4. If you do find the wiring in place and the doorcards dont have the areas for speakers look at eBay or a VAG breakers to get replacement door cards or panels for pence. You cant be the first person to have this issue.

Sounds like I have a duffer! Ill ring Sky tomorrow and I dont doubt they will exchange it without an issue. Ive done the software update, let it do its thing, given it some time but its just the amber light.

I did a speedtest on my phone through the wifi, getting a steady 7-8mb so should be enough and I was told to wait til it gets to 10-15% downloaded before starting to watch anyway and Id choose normal quality, not HD stuff as its 2GB per 45 mins!

    Thanks for all the replies.

They are generally rated 1 of 3 compounds. Pacestar is the hardest, Trailstar is the middle and Vertstar is the softest. I made the mistake of going with 2.35 Verstar Supergravitys that are heavy (over 1kg each) and because they are tacky they are very draggy. Im looking at lighter Snakeskin Trailstar Hans Dampfs or Gatestar 4x Nobby Nics (Pacestar centre so roll well and Vertstar side knobs for grip)

If they have no star rating they will be equivalent of trailstar id guess.

I put up a similar thread awhile back. It gets hard when there is nothing distinctly ‘wrong’ with the relationship (you get on, sex still happens, things get planned, you dont argue that often) but complacency is almost worse. It shows theres no spirit or passion. Mine, after really thinking it through, was down to her illness that would mean we would never really live a life I wanted. Selfish yes, but just over a month on and I wouldnt go back. It was not something I could change and not something I could change my feelings on so I had to say enough is enough. She will meet someone who loves her for who she is, not who I wanted her to be.

However, its important to talk to each other. There are a variety of reasons you can be feeling this and the human mind has a way of making everything fit to what you believe it should be. The more downbeat you think and persuade yourself its dead in the water, the more you will want it to end. Surprise her, wine and dine her somewhere different, quiet, set aside a whole evening and turn off your phones. Go back to basics, not sex, just talking and sharing ideas.

Expectation vs reality too, what do you expect of the relationship now? What is realistically going to happen next? Happiness is that place between expectation vs reality. Its not about how many good points they have, its about how many negatives you learn to accept.

It is just a combo of hormones, dosent have to end here though.

See thats weird, I never consistently broke a 9 speed chain like this in such a short period of time. Maybe just bad luck. A few mates said KMC, lets see what CRC says…

It ended up in the bin, not a bush. Are all 10 speed chains just a bit naff because of their width vs strength?

I have to be honest, it would be impossible without barriers the whole way (and therefore closing the road for much longer) to stop people possibly steppng out. I saw the Tour Of Britan come through Tavistock in stage 5 on Thursday and there were thousands of people. However I think the police bikes and teams did a good job of making their prescence known. The marshals did **** all but stand around watching!

Id imagine they are good to drive, I own a model before 320d (e46) and I like it alot. Id imagine the newer engines are more refined, mines nice and smooth but compared to modern diesel is a little lumpy. All the below things are on the e46 so Id hope they’d have improved!

Not sure if they have them on newer models (e90/e91) but worth checking swirl flaps, a big problem for diesels on the e46 shape. These are worth blanking to avoid potential engine failure.

The lumpy gearbox is partly due to a restricting valve called a CDV. Easy to remove so that it opens up the flow of oil. It designed to stop ham fisted people wrecking anything from poor shifting.

The gearchange takes a bit of getting used to but Im guessing most 330ds if not all will be autos so CDV and gearchange dosent apply.

I echo about 4 wheel alignment otherwise itll handle like a bag of spanners. Also, if it tramlines this could be down to worn bushes. Even makes and models of tyres play a small part in how it drives and feels, which sounds daft but true.

Go for an Msport too, seats are much better than SE.

My shocks were gone shortly after I bought it at 120k so worth checking, even if its had motorway mileage.

All BMWs after 2004 came with a 12 year anti corrosion warranty so any rust check its not caused by poor maintenance. Arches go but if its had proper BMW or BMW inspection services throughout its life this will be one of the things thats checked.

I read a review on the 2011 full bike and Devinci I think had a 90mm stem fitted as standard, which they said was a tad long. Its not for all day superlong stints but 3 hour techie blasts with good descents as well as climbs. I may find 60mm is more suitable but until ive ridden it offroad I wont know. I like them slightly small and chuckable too.

Definitely Jim, gotta take them with a pinch of salt!

I eventually want a dropper post so a layback may not be an option but I can see what your saying. The bars are 760mm cut down from 780mm which was too wide for comfortable riding. Its a medium, the guy selling it offered mentioned his height in the advert and it was the same as mine so maybe he likes it cramped! The post was dropped down 10mm.

    Liking it so far :)

I am quite interested in Horrors, Id recommend a few.

Sinister was great, cept for the dancing children. Classic scare tactics in a not so samey premise.

The Woman In Black, If you can look past Harry Potters wooden acting though.

The Conjuring is great and well executed.

Mama is good, except for the eternal spoiler of seeing the monster at the end.

A Haunting In Connecticut is a genuinely good film with creepy bits in.

The Descent is a brilliant low budget horror that kicked the ass off the Americans version, The Cave.

Worth checking out The Unborn too. Oh, and the original version of Shutter, not the American version.

The new Evil Dead is punchy and cringy gore but well done.

This is one for you if you dont like dolls…

Access to the internet as a web browser, syncing with other media devices, etc. Id be inclined to get it, especially if its going to last. My current flat screen is on a lot and its still great quality so I cant justify buying something new with smart TV and all the other gubbins.

Finding out anything factual about him through work is a breach of data protection and I dont see any other way except hacking into Facebook, etc. I do find it a bit strange that you want to find out about him. You are always going to get bullsh*tters in every job or someone who exagerates a bit but the only issue I can see is if he is making lies up about you and your colleagues that could result in blocking your career or worse.

I was going to mention the Capra, the Nomad and Intense Tracer are both 165mm and will take 180mm forks at a push but are more suited to 160-170mm.

The longer the stem the vaguer it will feel but also you have to consider your fit on the bike. Most frames are governed around shorter stems, something under 80mm is the standard. May be worth trying a cheap shorter stem like an 80mm.

Sorry to hear that, I have used Paypal gift for small things but generally anything more than £10 and its normal payment. Paying a little more to cover some charges is a slightly less expensive way to avoid getting done.

Thechive.com is great for wasting half an hour. Cooking, cleaning, maintenance and DIY, clean the car, polish the bike one more time. Phone your mates and arrange stuff, when you have stuff to look forward it seems better.

Theres a couple of good basic ideas to check there. The first that stands out is Bigsurfer’s suggestion air is getting into the fuel system.

I had a second hand Bora 115bhp tdi for 3 months before EXACTLY the same thing. Would cut out mid flow, take loads of attempts to get going and then just start perfectly. It would then cut out and wouldnt start again. If it was on the flat, generally fine. I replaced the relay that Markrtw mentioned at the start of the 2nd page and it did nothing. Turns out it was a fuel pipe that had come loose to the fuel filter and at points was sucking in enough air to conk out. When I was cranking it and cranking it it was pushing the air through to a point fuel would be pumping enough diesel through but when there was too much demand on the engine it would suck in air again.

Its a basic check, just find the fuel filter which will be on the left if you are looking at the front of the car and check if its leaking diesel.

If its not this I doubt glow plugs would stop it running which is why I would attribute it to air/fuel mixture and a sensor rather glow plugs. A fault code reader is worth its weight in gold, somewhere like GSF (german swedish french) will sell one for around £20 which will be OBDII compatible.

Obviously they have base tax brackets that are set by your projected earnings. If you recieve a massive bonus one month that maybe goes over that tax bracket they would tax you that month accordingly. A lot of people will be on 1000L which is up to £10000 tax free allowance which is spread across 12 months. The remainder of your pay is then taxed at a percentage based upon your total projected income for the year. If you earn £25k the first £10k of that is tax free spread over 12 months. The last £15k is taxed at the appropriate percentage over 12 months.

eBay are fairly good, I have bought fakes before in good faith and they have always reacted quickly. I hope they are as quick for you. It also may be worth mentioning who and what are fakes if you know for sure, maybe it can be pointed out to importers like Silverfish to ascertain whether its genuine or fake.

Lots of good replies, sorry If Im repeating anything!

Airsick, let me thank you for coming forward. Some people believe mental health isnt a form of illness, it is. Naturally, depression is a large part of that, especially in societies eyes. But there is so much more than that.

You’re thinking is probably similar to a lot of people. Certainly, it outlined to me what I already know of myself. Relatively intelligent, logical, modest most times, mindful of others, introverted (thats assuming) and incredibly good at thinking. and thinking and thinking. Your senses are probably sponge-like, mine are. After a hard day I have to come home and relax with a monotonous task, generally by myself before I am ready again. Theres only so much you can take.

I put up a thread on here a few weeks ago about whether modern life was too good. On reflection and based upon replies, Im of mixed opinion. Its portrayed as not good enough without this new gadget or the toned body or the nice car. Media has a lot to answer for. And its easy to get sucked in. TV is good, but not for hours on end. Constant re-runs of Top Gear on Dave Im pretty sure is worse than alcohol for killing off brain cells.

I, like you, worry. I put this down to several things. Firstly, the sponge like brain takes in all the advertising, the nastiness, the busyness and lack of relaxing. We are in a time where our brains are racing from 7am to 11pm. And its addictive and comfortable to fall into that trap. Secondly, what our brain percieves to be happiness, isnt. We are relying upon what our eyes are seeing, what are brain is basing that sight on and then pulling up a memory to give what it thinks is a realistic answer. In a short form, Id say its too much external negativity that makes us think negatively.

I am going through similar to you. I have a good job and a career I enjoy, a family that are caring, little debt, a few good friends. But I long for more friends, acceptance of others, to be better than I am. I dont consider myself good looking (yet had no issues getting girlfriends) and I never consider myself interesting, stimulating or worthy yet can hold ongoing conversations for hours.

I havent resorted to CBT yet, or medication. I have been on and off with a counsellor for something I couldnt really get a grip of. I have narrowed it down to something which in itself can lead to depressionist thinking, perfectionism and an unfulfilling life. Now I have an diagnosis, I feel I can work on it move forward.

My advice is stop. Just stop. Turn off the TV, put down the magazine, shut off the laptop. Find a piece of quiet greenery, and go and sit wherever suits. I have sun, nobody else and time when I sit down in a field nearby.

Secondly, write down your traits and thinking. Dont hold back. Be as brutally honest as you can. Keep it, and refer back to it. Your idea of yourself will change, some days itll be worse and some better. Show it to your wife, ask for her honest opinion. She will tell you that some are correct and some are in your head. Maybe google some of them. Nothing wrong with exploring your ideas of yourself because I doubt you are the only one feeling that set of feelings. Get some clarity on what you are really feeling before you figure out what treatment is best.

If you ever need someone to rant to, talk about worries I am no counsellor but I will certainly listen. My email is in my profile if you ever need it.

    Doug

PS sorry for the long reply!
