I love the one on my commuter but unfortunately Im not in the saddle more than half an hour at a time. Ive found this and another to be my favourite comfy saddles down to shape. Ive tryed Bel Airs and Spesh Body Geo saddles and I always find the gap designed for ‘relievement’ at the back too wide until I tryed this one.

Ive also got a cheap one off a 2006/7 Carrera Vulcan thats also made by Velo, and has a flexy base and is pretty comfy too.

Ive heard that Gomez album name before. Seasick Steve – I started out with nothin’ and I still got some of it left.

    Beautiful Freak – Eels.
A crow left of the murder – Incubus.
Gutter Phenomenom – Everytime I Die.
I am a bird now – Antony and the Johnsons.

I agree that people over a certain age should be re-tested. Not just because they might be ‘out of touch’ but for health reasons as well. My grandad was 84 when he stopped driving and he should have stopped at 80. Its different for all people but he didnt have the reactions. Once he got to 80 he changed drastically, and we were scared of him driving the car. It was a mess when he sold it because of nudging this and scraping past that and the crack in his bumper when he reversed too far into a bollard in a carpark.

I dont agree every 5 years as its mega expensive. After 65 I think maybe a health check should be done and maybe at 75 a driving test should be performed. Maybe I am ageist, I know many young drivers who should not be on the roads as they are nutters, purely unsafe. But they dont drive like that all the time, and in the times when they are being sensible, they are far more safer than the average 75 year old. Reactions times for example. Young drivers are in a way better than older people because their reaction times are much faster. Obviously, this makes some people cocky.

Whereas young drivers its cockiness and in-experience, older drivers its reaction times and health problems.

Ive got it but havent actually watched it yet.

For other horror films, the Descent always gets my vote. Also, Shutter. Its an Asian movie, but scary as!

If hes stated postage then tell him you only bid because of that otherwise you cant collect. If hes put it down and re-tracting it his ebay auction was misleading. If it comes to the crunch and he wont post, tell him again politely that you cant pick it up. If he still dosent want to budge, tell him you dont want it. If he leaves bad feedback, depending on how many pieces of feedback you have it might affect you greatly or not at all. You always have the right to request that it be removed, but I cannot see it going as far as that unless he is really difficult.

At the end of the day hes stated it. If he didnt want to do it, why have it on there? Hes just being difficult so give him a few days to reply.

5-10% is the average I thought on appliances. It dosent matter the fact that it was a display model or not, it still has aesthetic damage to it and I cant understand why they would try and send you that, ‘hoping’ you wouldnt notice? (if they knew about it)

I will contact USE but its been cut down annoyingly, meaning that alone might make them say no to offering any help. The Araldite seems a good idea. At the end of the day, if it fails again I wont fix it again, but it might work and after having spent £40 on it 2 weeks ago, Im reluctant to throw it away in order to spend more money on another post. If it fails again it just means the saddle will swivel in the carbon tube, no major biggy. The head is still a tight fit in the carbon, hopefully meaning its not ovalised.

    Cheers for the help guys!

Thomthumb, just looked that up and that could be a good solution. I did think it would be a good idea to go over the head with a bit of 600 wet and dry before hand.

I always thought it was due to irregulaties in the metal becoming apparent when they got hot? Im no engineer though. It happens more to the cheaper discs too.

haha, I mean I have nothing financially to lose. The post is useless as it is, and I would never dream of selling it on after I had ‘fixed’ it with a bolt or sticking it back together. Obviously I wouldnt do it if its just going to snap on me, but I thought I’d ask anyway!

I just thought as the Superstar carbon posts have tilt adjustment through a big rod that goes through the metal outer sleeve and inner carbon post in theory it would be a similar idea as long as drilling it didnt wreck the carbon.

Rip it onto your computer and then use a converter such as Videora Ipod Converter (free download) to convert the file into an mpeg4 file.

Ive got a 17-40mm F4 ‘L’, 24-70mm F2.8 ‘L’, both of which are amazingly superb bits of kit. Ive also got a Nifty 50mm F1.8, a lens that should be in every Canon owners range. With the crop factor it equates to 80mm, which is perfect for a portrait and general use lens.

In terms of a big zoom range and half decent performance, the 18-200mm Canon EF-S F3.5-5.6 is a great lens. Optical I.S., metal mount, not too weighty either. I think its a better performing lens at the extremes than the Sigma 18-200mm.

Alternatively, you could scrap that and get a third lens, my 10-20mm Sigma wide angle that I have for sale! :D

Booger, didnt realise I was a complete numpty! Surely the thing about Aluminum being a dead material is right? Or does it feel dead in relation to steel because of the diameter of tubing and wall thickness?

    dooge

Sam Hill uses it in parts, especially to stop chain noise. I was recommended to fill the hollow monoque sections with expanding foam to deaden the noises.

He definately need a battering. Violence with Violence is not something I regard highly, but in his case, carry on.

Better to make the Twunt bankrupt though, will hit him harder.

Stiff is good, dead is not. Aluminum is described as a dead material as when made into a frame produces something that dosent absorb shocks, it reverberates them. This is why Aluminum fatigues alot quicker than Steel.

Titanium absorbs vibration very well, lending itself to a comfortable ride. It dosent have much flex though, so it can be classed as being laterally stiff. Generally, stiff frames and components are good. Flexible components, are not.

I think you’re missing the point that the average ‘joe public’ wouldnt be looking on the Charge bikes website, and although its not setting a good example for the youth, they will still go out and do it anyway after seeing someone else do it on pinkbike/another website/video.

The problem with press fit was you always need a reliable fit otherwise its pants. Once youve replaced the BB a few times whats to say it wont knacker the tight fit required on softer aluminum frames?

I wanted to like the Pansonic LX3 but anything past 400 ISO and its like looking at pictures made from Lego! Its not as bad as earlier Nikon noise, but its no way near as pretty as traditional film grain. Im surprised as I thought Leica had input into that camera and not just in the lens area?

mav12, lovely images in there. What glass do you use? Ive also got a 40D, love it.Most pleased with my 24-70mm F2.8 L series recently, but have built up to several lenses including 17-40mm F4, Sigma 10-20mm, Sigma 50mm F2.8 Macro, 50mm mkII F1.8 and 35mm F2. Also, just got a 430EX mkII to complement my 580EX mkII but havent had a proper chance to test them out together yet.

I got into photography 5 years ago, now finishing a 3 years degree at uni and currently writing about changing compositional standards in recent photography.

Tom Ang makes some good beginner and intermediatery books on photography. I was like you guys, til you start learning about narrative, contextual meaning and compositional rules and the passion changes from machine-gunning loads of images off to composing shots carefully.

I love my K18’s, always thought Juicys to be vague and the levers rattle apart after alot of use. Ive tryed them on mates bikes and cant get on with them. I like a mainly wooden brake, small amount of modulation, minimal lever flex and good bite power. K18’s have all of that for me, and have proved to be reliable so far. Contact size of the pads is small but they are powerful brakes, so I am happy with what they do. They are on my DH bike and wont be changing, only to upgrade to some K24’s or The Ones.

I tryed the Fibrax ones and thought they were a load of tosh for £14! For DH I use Organic only. Never heard of the Comfort ones, maybe a mega soft compound for pootley bikes?

Its a variety of things ranging from marketing preying on the enlarging problem of diminishing male confidence, womans more prominent dominant role in the bedroom as a example of sexual equality and our consumerist society.

Personally, if anyone feels they have to have one, it is a shame they feel like that.

Im 23, and I dont get them. Im the same as you theotherjonv, I have no idea on the ‘process’ and im at my sexual height, being at uni an’ all! ;)

Pee yourself? Bleach? ride around with hair removal wax on your legs collecting the buggers? I would say anything you can buy from a normal shop to use against normal mozzies, unless these are some form of mutant suck your body dry in 20 goes mozzies.

Hora, why not shim it and buy a Superstar components Rubinetto carbon post in 27.2? They only have 300mm left so depends on length too but at £25 for a carbon post, sounds pretty good!

Also thinking about it, 34mm might be an outside diameter size instead of an inside diameter size…get your Local Bike Shop to measure it.

what frame is it? 34mm is a very weird size. Try CRC and just search through. Alternatively, depending on the shape and design of your seatclamp you might be able to get a QR adaptor for it.

I have to say that similar things have happened to me. Both selling stuff and buying stuff. Its the way of the world I think. Things do go for different prices. I would like to say that for me it was never intentional to buy low and sell high, but thats how it panned out.

As an example, 4 or 5 years ago before Ti was this almighty metal dominating everything from bolts to disc rotors I bought a Ti stem and flat bars combo, both cost me around £20 posted from here. If I sold it on now, I might get closer to £40 for the pair. Unintentional, Ive used them, but demand has gone up.

As people have said, are they the same wheels? Also, he might have put time and effort into A) cleaning the wheels up, maybe truing, etc. B) making an ebay auction and getting a decent photo. Im not saying Im justifying it, but if hes willing to put in the effort to maybe improve or clean up the item, fair be it. Also, everyone charges what they like for their items judging on other peoples items. If they sell them for less, why moan if they maybe didnt put the effort on Ebay, or with better photos, or even just putting them up for a more expensive price and then haggling with interested buyers? Haggling works both ways, and yes in the spirit of a community such as this its fair to think we should stick together but when people desperately need the money, they will sell for less. The time factor has always been aparent in classifieds, and has just become worse with the economies downturn.

If they are the same wheels, at least you know not to buy them now!

Not to mention not that many seatposts will drop the tilt adjustment that far forward. Personally it looks like you would be perched and leaning on it rather than it supporting you, which would mess up your balance and put more pressure on your hands.
