If you need a little road fitness, Derby Mercury chain Gang meet every Tuesday and Thursday around 6.40 at the Little Chef, A38, Little Eaton throughout the year. Always very well attended and can get up to 60+ riders in the summer 😳

    Visitors welcome…..

Use the wheels all year for Commutes, Time trials, chain Gangs, training.

Always use half a cup of wheel milk and fit the tyres on with a Ghetto inflator 😯

I have also this problem, yes they are meant to be very tight, i use a air dryer on the cable to warm the plastic, normally works a treat.
If you actually get the ferrule on the beginning of the cable, just give the ferrule a tap with a mallet…..

I’ve just upgraded from a set of Easton EA50SL’s (1700gish) to a set of tubeless fulcrum racing 1s

My exact upgrade with Hutchinson tubeless tyres, it is like riding continually riding with a tail wind 😀

    Cheers Chris.
We are parking near J27, heading through Newstead Abbey, Calverton, Lowdham, type of area for a steady spin. Going to call in the cafe in Burton Joyce and if full, will push the boat out and nip into the Bistro 🙄

Probably watching at the hill at Harby first, then will head towards the castle. Have a chat if you see us, Wilier, Forme, van nicholas ?

    Chris, thanks for the info.

British Championships are on all day, with the best riders in the UK going later on in the afternoon. Think the best place to spectate could be on the hill near Harby.

Spent two weeks with Bike Village, it was that good and enjoyable i could of easily spent a month there !!
I went on my own and straight away i was made very welcome and had some of the best Al fresco dining imaginable.
If you want uplifts every day and enjoy full body Armour down hill type of rides, Bike Village is not for you.
Each and every day is so different and the satisfaction at the end of the day over a coffee and homemade cake if priceless …..

I would seriously struggle putting a tube in tubeless

On road tyres i find it’s the same as putting a tube in normal tyres.

Been using Fulcrum Racing 1’s and Hutchinsons now for over 7 months, not one puncture !
Seem to get a far better riding experience and will never ever go back to old fashion tubes.

Where’s Moorside Cafe in Cromford ?

Don’t think anybody has mentioned the Tor Cafe ? One of the favorite cafes for any roadie in the Peaks / Matlock area.

Handybendy – Have you been out with the Matlock CC MTB lads yet ??
They have been regally meeting across from Stanley Fearns on a Saturday around 9.00am / 9.15am for the past 25 years or more, they always get in the region of 20+ riders. Absolutely cracking bunch of lads with some of the best knowledge known of riding in the Peaks 😆

Come to think of it, i buy all my carbon and titanium goodies from Taiwan, i have never not received anything…..
