Hamilton warned for excessive weaving!! WTF?? I thought that was great racing/fighting and well done Petrov! Perhaps that's the problem with F1.

Cheers Redthinder, I'm looking for a site for selling and with the price in €uros, and particularly Zenfolio as it ticks all the boxes, except not being in Spanish!

    Spring's here, I see bluebells!

Did you do the painting? I like the building and Venice.

Couple of hours on the M40 and tube to see 2 boats crawl past?

Crawl past? best you go then…

I wouldn't have thought it would be worth a two hour drive to see. Much better on TV. If you are already in London, and are looking for something to do, I'd go.

Is it not a toffs event?

Yes that's right, Rowing is a sport for all. In Chester, Royal Chester is a club for the "toffs", Grosvenor Rowing Club is for the "proles". King's School for the "toffs".

I rowed for Grosvenor and nearly went to King's, a toff I am not!

    An excellent sport.

What time is it on? Not the most important event for Spanish schedulers.

Do people really find it that hard to go to the pub and just have a coke or something?

Don't underestimate the power of peer pressure. I used to get hassle from fellow reps at monthly sales meeting for drinking coke, before driving home.
After a couple of months I changed from coke to alcohol free beer, disgusting stuff but the pi55taking stopped.

Nowt wrong with giving up alcohol, give a go and see what happens.

Great thread, plenty of things I've forgotten about, some things I've seen and plenty I've never seen.
I've just found this, I don't know how well known it is though.

Newport Transporter Bridge, more info here.

    he died of lung cancer…

That I think was attributed to spending a lot of time in smoke filled rooms helping people quit. and the fact that he also smoked on an olympian scale.

TBH considering the number of complicating factors (missing digits, slants, multiple competitors etc) I think that unless you're doing this day in day out as a job, time spent finding an automatic solution is wasted, humans are incredibly good at such tasks.

I completely agree, having had a quick look at the document from HoratioHufnagel there is a bit of detail about that and includes font types, sizes etc. Cost clearly is relevant but at the moment I'm going through about 1,000 pics. 8O Probably about 4 hours work in total…

even has a pic of a biker in it

Thanks for that, just having a quick read, I'll get back to you in a couple days!!!

How many photos are you talking about?

Currently doing it manually on 1020 photos.

Say you get the numbers read, how are you going to transfer the data

    Dunno, you tell me.

0001.jpg will produce 0001.txt file that will have the number in it

So not really what I'm looking for then, I was hoping it could/would add an extension to an existing file name.

    Ah well, worth a try.

Ok, cool. so that's what it's called then. I tried something lastnight which was crap. Everything else I found in google was barcode reading or number plate recognition. Would they be OK?

    I'll have another google tonight.

    Thanks

Also, maufactured cigs have additives to help open the airways, which you've now lost.

No F**king Way!! Is that real?

    Yeah, is that true?

That could be true, I knew someone who worked for Glaxo (Ventolin) who said that asthma sufferers had a smoke before doing the breathing test (peak flow/spirometry) as the fags opened up the airways. I don't see the benefit of cheating the test though.

In Alan Carr's 2nd book about how easy it is to quit – which I read after failing to quit using his first book – he admitted that he only gave up after hypnotherapy, not using the methods in his book. Hardly inspiring!
Possible, but hard to believe, do you have a link or something to back it up?

I think the Allan Carr books are simply brain washing, you have to read and re-read them until you are convinced. It has to undo a lifetime of brainwashing from the tobacco companies saying that smoking is coooooooooool!

Even after nearly 10 years without smoking, I still (very) occasionally get the urge…
    I hope youre joking

Don't worry, as soon as I gave up I knew it was forever, no craving, nothing. I don't even remember how many years I've gone without, 6 maybe 7, it's not important.

I was much the same as bjj.andy.w,I went to the docs at 23 yrs old to do some tests. Doc told me that I was a little less fit than a healthy 21 yr old, I had been smoking for 6-7 years at that point. No problem, no need to give up. But I'm sure that even if the lungs weren't being effected, other problems were caused, circulation for one. Best thing I ever did was to quit.

Now with asthma, whenever I do the breathe test on the machine I seem to exceed expectations for an asthmatic, I have no idea why… Lung capacity? Using diaphragm to help breathe???

Good on ya for quitting, keep it up. It really is quite easy to stop, Allan Carr says so!

2 packs Marlboro/normal day, 3-4 packs weekend!!! (over 20 odd years, how many bike is that?????).

    Bit racist isn't it?

But doesn't that make you the racist for bringing race into the equation, rather than me for not making the connection in the first place.

Nice timing to coincide with the safety campaign. Charge a famous person and show that nobody is above the law. I just like the bluntness of it.

If you drive like a dickhead, you will get called a dickhead. Giving Hamilton a fine isn't really going to touch him, is it? A bit of public humiliation might work though. But I'm not so interested in Hamilton, just in calling a spade, well…. a spade!

    Genuinely loled!

Is the question about paying for online content or paying for a level of quality that doesn't satisfy you?

Journalists have to be paid and the format of spreading the news has to be paid for. Isn't it just the same as paper format, your money, your choice.

Personally I prefer reading hard copy and not online and wouldn't pay.

There's another bar off (I think) Nicholas Street, near the amphitheatre on the inside of the walls, I've forgotten the name. I think they do food!

Zizzi's? Nice food. There is another bar right next door as well but not sure it does food.

Nope, The Albion and it's off Pepper St.

Also, what is now where Clavertons used to be?

There was another bar a little further up Watergate Street from The Ship.
