Yes did that once when on a survey for an alarm system.
Laptop opened and Single track opened on my home screen and porn was opened in an ad.
I quickly cleared it but my client saw it.
    Lost the job.
I didn’t ever look at that or even think of looking at that but the advertising on Single Track cost me that job and probably more.

Footpath and Pavement next to a road are completely different.
I’m pretty sure even walking a bike down a footpath is forbidden.
I may ride a cheeky footpath at night or in early morning.
But riding on a footpath through a farmers field in the middle of the day is just damn-right asking for a shotgun up the arse.

    @Revs1972, believe that,
    My experiences,
Every time we went over to my Great Nans she had a tin of Foxes Glacier mints that we used to raid.
On the day of her death I was on the slopes snowboarding in the middle of nowhere about to drop in.
An overwhelming smell of Foxes mints hit me and immediately I thought of my nan.
When I got home my mum told me of her passing on the day I smelt the mints.

Another; I did a work visit to a 500 year old house. On leaving the property I drove the car out of the gate and got out to close it. A woman in white was walking towards me who I thought was the owner for a second coming up to close the gate for me, I was about to turn and go back to my car when she disappeared.
Haven’t read all the thread but 6 pages means its controversial.
    I believe.

I also believe my dad visited me once in a hotel corridor after a night out. My dad died when I was 2.
It was so vivid and my good friends stayed with me whilst I could see him and didn’t judge. I believe he came to me that day for some reason.
My girlfriend on the other hand has made me swear to never ever drink Long Island Ice Teas again

DIY systems that rely on Apps to notify something has happened/ cctv images etc rely on the router being on and thus the mains power supply.
Cutting phone lines etc doesn’t need to be done now; wait for a power cut in the local area and have a field day with the likes of Yale/ Nest/ Ring systems.
The domestic market for professional systems is dead and buried.
They want our advice but don’t want to pay for it.
    Bitter, moi?

Well I’ve gone down that wormhole. Well done to the marketing team. I’ve discovered it’s a cartoon but one can buy a watch strap with a car attached to it that can then do battle with the oher person that has the same. Thefor 2x $80 in the first place. Of course it looks exciting to a 5 year old but trying to explain that it is just ‘tat’ and will be nothing like the cartoon ‘battles’ is a no go.
He’s currently writing to Santa for one….

I wonder if I get him a Tamiya RC ( I’m an RC fan) then I can win him over.

First thing is to test the cable. Replace the BNCs to rule them out.
Maybe test the camera on a short coax at the DVR to prove the camera.
Settings to adjust capability of recognising number plates is done in the camera menu. Preset 95 normally on a Hik. Always better setting up at night as can see real time results, especially with number plate reflection. Day results don’t really matter apart from setting frame rates etc.
Always go for cctv from reputable wholesalers, never ebay/ amazon etc. Firmware updates etc will not work on Grey market equipment.
Hik is a good starting place for professional cctv and is plug and play to a certain point.
Like everything, we could all probably repair a pipe, build a wall, but.

    Cheers for all responses.
It’s under one contract so everyone knows exactly what’s happening.
It’s just an excuse to spend money when it’s not actually required.
Wouldn’t be so pissed off if they had asked us to fit the more expensive version in the first place but this just stinks of someone/ company getting a kick back and a government department just spending money without being held accountable.

    @andybrad
I’m high enough up to make a fuss.
Nothing will ever change if we take all keep quiet and sweep everything under the carpet.

    Thanks for everyone’s contributions.

    Missing the point.
We have installed a perfectly nice and fit for purpose bathroom.
They have commissioned us to do this.
Knowing full well that they are going to rip it out and install a slightly upgraded version.
The whole thing stinks of corruption.

I would say 10s of thousands of pounds per site, across the country.

To then rip it out and dump it to install a slightly better version?

    Angry is an understatement.

If I voiced my opinion I’d be out and someone else would gladly step in.

This is giving me work but I hate it.

dc1988 this is not a case of overcharging. This is a case of saying ‘ we want you to install this, then rip it out and re-install something slightly better’ Knowing the whole time that it is a case of doing the same job twice and spending taxpayers money.

Not my company brads. I’m several rungs down the list of companies involved. The first one is a leading UK construction and infrastructure services company…
Then it gets contracted to another, then another, then I’m just working for the final company involved.

Thinking about it, we actually did a new ‘bathroom’ on 13 floors of a Thames Water office block a number of years ago.
Was astonished when only a few months later the block was demolished and rebuilt.
    Corruption.
Nobody can say they didn’t know the process was in place to demolish when signing the contract for the new ‘bathrooms’.
Hate it when my Thames Water bill comes in….

It used to be easier as batteries were in easy to get to housings on bottom of device. Mine I had to take apart.
My eyesight not so good close up objects so can’t see to reconnect a ribbon cable and I think I’ve knackered the board.
New one methinks in the new year

When power cable plugged in and turn on its 8 evenly spaced white flashes then another very quick. When on battery only same but yellow flashes.
Hold power button down for 10/15 seconds same but led on caps lock comes on for a couple of seconds.
I got to the battery but as it’s so deep in the laptop and have to remove so much I’ve now knackered the lead that runs from the on/ off button so all is buggered anyway.
I called someone and he was extremely arrogant and basically told me HP was crap and nobody in the industry would use one, there is an apparent class suit going on as the screen chip keeps failing. Basically told me it was knackered.
I’ll get a new one after Xmas.
Thanks for getting back to me.

Googling this it says if I remove battery, hold start button down and reinstall battery it will do a hard reset but alludes to the fact it will clear the memory?
BTW what a complete ball ache to remove battery. Seems a lot of damage could be done to other components whilst getting to it!

Had my Japanese Les Paul Elite for 20 or so years and love it. Sounds better to my ears than many Gibsons I’ve tried.
Tried a Fender Telecaster when I started out but didn’t feel right ( I only tried one).
Now I’ve gone and bought a Fender MIM Vintera and I absolutely f love it!
Maple neck ( which I was dead against) absolutely so chunky neck. The only thing is it’s not nitro so sanded a lot of it down to get a nice feel.
Really now want a black faceplate nitro tele.
Also bought my little boy a small 3/4 strat.
Absolutely amazing tones, thoroughly impressed. I think I may be a Fender boy as need a fully grown up one of those, but must have a big fat chunky neck and nitro.
Turned onto Fender strats through a £100 kids guitar.
Anyway, just my thoughts right now

Seen this a few days ago.
I’ll say something without reading all the above because it’s hard for me to read.
Just want to put something here so I’m part of the conversation though.
If I were to give anyone any advice it would be to see a counsellor.
    I have not done so.
The thing is, with me, I’m either massively motivated and hard working or absolutely nothing.
I have a lovely girlfriend and two wonderful young children.
    I am very happy.
But one day I’m fine then the next I’ll be an absolute shit and stay out and get so drunk that my partner doesn’t talk to me for 3 weeks.
    Then the cycle continues.
Forgive me please because I’m just typing.
My dad committed suicide when I was 2.
    Brother was less than 1.
    I’ve never hated my dad.

Since 14 I’ve had a massive desire to commit suicide.

Bullied at school. Teenage shit is shit but I really want to **** strangle the guys that threw me in a pit and laughed as they walked away.
Forgive me if this doesn’t make any sense in sentences commas etc.

    It’s from the heart.

I loathe Facebook in general and have deleted the app several times as it robs time.
But, I do a lot of business on there. I do security systems and most domestic clients locally get me through Facebook.
So begrudgingly I have to keep it.

I haven’t read it all but that is a lot of money.
    I’m in the security industry.
First thing is ‘everything looks easy once you’ve seen it done’.
For a true professional takes years to get certified same with any other trade.
For a charlatan just takes balls and a screwdriver.
When I say it’s gonna be £65 for a callout and I’ll be there in 10 minutes 12 month guarantee there’s always someone that’ll say I’ll do it for £20.
There is always someone that will charge £500.
If the person pays the bill then they’ve deemed it ok surely?
The rouges have got away with it?
There is no pleasing the majority of the public.

Bought a 3/4 Squire Strat Hardtail for my kids (4 and 9) so they could get into guitars and make rocket noises etc.
They have acoustics but not that interested.
I paid £110 for just the guitar as I have every thing else. More bang for buck if only buying guitar rather than straps/ shit amps etc.
It was shipped in and the nut was so high I sent it back.
Now it’s honestly a nice little guitar.
I play it quite often. I’m not a Fender guy yet I find it very playable and nice sounds.
    Very impressed.

Something similar I guess in my teens a few times.
Wake up for school and everything I did was in slow motion getting out of bed, walking across the room, getting dressed. Would only last a few minutes.
Never looked into what it was or why.

I have a Korg Pandora PX4 that has gone haywire. Tried the default procedure to no avail.
Contacted Korg who quoted circa £70 for repair which I find fair but between £35 and £70 return postage!
I contacted UK repair helpline and assume repair is in UK.
Anybody know a reputable repair service that can repair Korg?
