Thanks for all your comments and words of wisdom!, it is not a race for me and more a personal challenge as mentioned above, like I said not very fit at the moment and just looking for pointers really.

I used to race and time trail but that was twenty years ago!.

There is no way I could average 16/18 mph at the moment more like 12/13 mph and could probably do 20 miles at this pace with my heart rate through the roof , the course is 100 miles with 1998 metres of climbing, not sure if this is a lot or a undulating ride?, you have eight and a half hours to complete it so no need for 20 mph averages!, although I would like to do the best I can do while raising some money for charity.

Thank you for being the first to sponsor me very much appreciated.
Started the training by riding to work and realised I have a long way to go fitness wise, but I will do this!.
    Thanks again.

All entries are sold out but you can do it for charity, which is what I am trying to arrange.
£40 fee then you have to raise £400.

Ton not sure if this makes you feel better or me for getting it of my chest, had a really bad chest infection followed by pleurisy last year and still do not feel right.

I used to cycle every day 15/20 miles a day,and since being ill struggle with fitness and breathing, constantly tired.

Keep telling yourself it will get better.

No you just have to watch the nose weight.
I have been told that some places do not like fitting tow bars to the vrs and the monte carlo versions, how true this is I am not sure.

The estate is a good car and the rear seats come out and the seat backs fold flat.
    This makes them useful inside!.

Thanks for all the suggestions, loads to be going on with there.
Have been playing driveclub and plants vs zombies with my little one and he keeps killing me!.
More practice is needed and a few more games, liking the look of dirt rally, doom (worried I might struggle with controls), and nearly every other one that has been mentioned, thanks :D

I would be up for a meet with anybody as well, Mondays are best for me.
Please take into account I am in the process of building my fitness back up after twelve months of the bike due to injury and then illness.

Thanks bongohoohaa, I probably should stick at it more and practice, I love the look of all the newer games and would love to be able to master them so perhaps more time and effort is needed on my part.

Just been playing on driveclub which I like, not a massive gamer just like to switch of every now and then.
Just really struggle with all the new games for some reason, looking for something that is addictive.
Oh and soon about to try the whole online thing with psn.

Yep tried this and no luck

Spoke to the playstation help line today and even though the console is only a year and a half old, its out of there 12 month warranty period!.
So I can have “a unit that has been sent back that had fault or faults and refurbished with a three month warranty for £125”.
    What a joke.

Hi yes I replaced all the o rings in the air side of the fork and the fork seals and foam o rings, not a happy bunny and it seems I will struggle to buy a new set of dual air 100mm 26 inch wheel forks.

All was fine until we had a problem x2.
About a year ago now very bad customer service, owed us money and took around four months to recover was a total nightmare and it was like they wanted us to give up so they kept the money!.

    Hi

I am not to far away from Clent, West Midlands.
If any one is around I would be up for a nice easy ride round.
I did get a few peoples numbers about a year ago but my back / SI joint had started to get bad so never really had the fitness or confidence to ride with others.

Its hard and I have put on a lot of excess lard around the middle, but my biggest thing is how much my fitness has dropped, I think it will be a long hard slog back to fitness.
Saying that though three weeks ago I was worried I would never ride again I was that ill.
Capt.Kronos, Good luck hope every thing goes well if you was closer I would ask for a slow ride out!

    Unfortunately no sorry.
Its hard my fitness and confidence levels are way below they have ever been.
Perhaps I need to find some folks locally to ride with.

I have been thinking about entering this but a SI joint issue, three months off the bike followed by a chest infection and pleurisy further two months so far!. I am not sure I will be ready or fit enough but it looks fun.
