My GP was very sympathetic, she’d had it. Had Nurse ENT first for hearing and pressure check, this is now the follow up as it showed a negative pressure in my left ear and a reduction in hearing.

I’m not sure what they can do though, it’s caused by a virus, but I will attend. This all kicked off in April, I’m just getting back on the bike now, it took a long time for me to be able to look down, or to my right (for some reason).

6 weeks for me, Labyrinthitis in my case, but they are similar. Came back after a month but not as badly. Horrible condition. Mine came on after a flight. Have my second ENT appointment in next couple of weeks.

No wonder it irks – I am similarly afflicted mind so not a dig at you but I can understand why it would annoy someone

drives me up the wall. I quit the reminding after the killer “you are not my mum”. No, too right I’m not.

It can be hard to find places to rent that will allow dogs.
They are small…. so Extra for cleaning, more inspections. She will know shes on a shaky hook, if shes been good otherwise, it would save a lot of hassle in the short term.

Having to constantly remind folk of stuff, does that not appear to be nagging?

I still think they are rank though, and I can understand the warblings :)

I did engineering when I was a fresh faced 17year old. Next choice was Geography, so clearly I didn’t know what I wanted to do.

My degree definitely helped me, got my last year company sponsored and a job after graduation, but its largely redundant now. Mind you 12 years later I’m still in the field, largly aircraft with a bit of boats for good measure. Does it excite me greatly? no, but I had a great time at uni, in the good old days of no fees and grant cheques. No loans, I worked part time the whole way through, and stayed at home, my uni wasn’t far enough away to justify moving into Glasgow.

My parents have never been prouder. It was for them as much as anything. Ahh nostalgia. As my wee mam says “no one can take it off you”

Definitely get a tent you can stand up in. Our “festival” tent had to be crawled into. 5 days of lying down to struggle into jeans etc is a right pita.

Read an article about how a week of camping will reset your natural bodyclock.

    This one?

Camping for a week resets body clock to half-past insane

ha! it was something like that, but on the BBC website :)

Carpets are ace in tents! so much nicer to walk on than the sewn in groundsheet.
We added a porch to ours, more space, it has no groundsheet, so wellies/shoes/dog bowls, all the cooking stuff, electric coolbox stay out there.

We took an electric fan heater, though we did get baked from 1pm onwards on our last camping trip, there was still a chill after sunset.

Ive used an alpkit thermarest mat and a ready bed in the past, which only proves i can sleep anywhere on anything.

Feel for the girls family. Kids/teenagers can be cruel , seem to have a knack for preying on the more vulnerable.

With regards the mags, the editor of nuts, I think, said they would encourage their readers to buy the mag, petrol , do the weekly shop elsewhere. Not sure the purchaser of such mags is the same demographic that does the weekly shop.

Yeah I’ve got in my left ear. I think it relates to a bout of Labyrinthitis I took in April. 6 weeks off work, 4 of them i had constant vomiting when I moved too much. It went away for a month, then it came back, though not nearly as bad. Looking down or to my right seems to trigger dizzy spells.

I was referred by GP. ENT nurse check came back with a negative pressure in that ear, I can’t hear certain tones now. Awaiting a follow up appointment with ENT doctor.

Worth getting it checked out with GP.

i found leather covers that i might give a go, not convinced i’ll like the look of them. Need to cover up a tear caused by jean buttons, currently sporting a bit of duct tape.

You can list accessories by car/model, so should work with airbags.

I’ve no problem with people owning or buying whatever they like, just amused by people who do so & then think others will/should be impressed!

Exactly this. To be fair, I likely wouldn’t notice anyway.

Does mine count as vintage now? Animal watch bought in 1996 with my first uni grant cheque!

the landrover ones are definitely real.

The landrover itself would have helped us on our adventure over hardknott pass last week, the civic wasn’t quite up to it unfortunately.

saw a rooftop tent in actual use last week, on top of a landrover mind you, so maybe a tiny bit more room.

I was 23 before I had the courage to go for lessons. I signed up with my local council pool.

It was quite daunting turning up the first day, the instructor was fab. Group size tended to be 5-6. Afterwards i was allowed to stay in the pool for as long as i liked to practice.

We covered the basics, like putting your face in the water. Sounds trivial, but I hate water hitting me in the face! Treading water etc. Each lesson included one-one time.

I loved it, i now have a competent front crawl and breast stroke with proper technique. I was starting on Back stroke when i decided to give up my place to someone that really needed it.

Go for it, you won’t regret it.

The sightseeing Bus tour was very good, they offered a free nighttime tour when we went.

Kilmainham gaol was really good, tour bus stop right outside it. The guinness and the jamison tours were both good, i preferred the jamison tour as you got an actual person to guide you round, The guinness end product was better to sample! Nice views from the bar at the top.

Theres a wee museum inside the GPO only 2euros entry, if you want a bit of history.

Haven’t been to Glastonbury since 2009, had a great time but some acts were disappointing. Springsteen in particular, at a festival i don’t want to hear your new stuff, “outlaw pete” can get te. Neil Young was superb that year.

From the little i’ve seen on tv this year, i’ll be checking out alabama shakes and daughter.

I didnt rate Primal Scream at gig on the green a fortnight a go. However when i saw them doing screamadelica i was impressed. They can all have an off day.

I’m currently reading Neverwhere: A novel by Neil Gaiman. Really enjoying it so far.

I gave up with the Game of thrones books after suffering the first one.

I thought the DPF light came on when it was approx 80% blocked. A good thrashing didn’t sort mine so I had it taken out and the car remapped to remove regeneration process, no extra hp. It passed mot test at Kwik Fit.

Car has also had an egr replacement since i’ve had it (under warranty). I had to replace this on my previous petrol a3 so they might be made of cheese.

I had to give up on The Wheel of Time books, couldn’t do it anymore.

I’ve decided to do the same with the Game of Thrones books, too many unnecessary words. Thankfully they aged most of the characters up in the tv series, in the books I kept thinking jees these are 13/14 yr old children.

In the unlikely event I have one :) I would request no gifts at all, just the pleasure of them attending. Just my thoughts.

just back last week. we stayed in trinity capital (or capital trinity!) on.Pearse street, just a few minutes walk from the bottom of O’Connell street.

airport was 6euros on the airlnk service or 10 euro return open ended for 3 months. takes 25 mins or so.

we made good use of the hop on bus, gaol was good, storehouse was overpriced and touristy but we were! enjoyed learning to pour my own pint. Jameson whisky tour was better craic. gpo and the uprising was good. you’ll find plenty to do, we were there for 4 days, might have listed too much.

the famine tour on the Jeannie Johnston replica was an eyeopener.

    have a good time.

Quite enjoyed it. In these time travel films where they get in a “pod”, where does it go?

Saw end of watch over the weekend too, also liked that.

I tried taking my GSD once. Wasn’t my best idea. She was more interested in sniffing and randomlyu stopping infront of me. I’ve relegated her to hill walking. According to that martin clunes dog programme, shes left footed which explains a lot!

OH just bought one from Slanj in Glasgow.

Who knew there was so much to a kilt, not just picking a tartan, jacket style, sporran style, colour, shoes, it goes on.
Good investment though, a kilt seems to increase your attractiveness tenfold. :)

I used to live in Copenhagen, uni exchange in 1999. Loved the city. I need to go back sometime. Easy to take a wander over to Sweden as well.
