I hardly touch the mtb now. I get more satisfaction from road biking and tbh less trips to A&E.

I won’t sell my mtb though. makes a good coat hangar on the turbo trainer.

Only problem is, you’re assuming your ‘belief’ that it’s a fairy story is correct …

Difference is, I’m open to any evidence you might have to the contrary.

likewise, open to any evidence that there isn’t :)

Enjoyed it last year, went on the overnight ferry. Good idea on the way over, not so on the way, when we had Glasgow to get to. Chilly ride up the road. Have fun :)

    yes to the bowl.
previous owner of my flat stole the plug, so no choice! (could have bought one i suppose, but it was white plastic sink so was always going to get rid of it)

i don’t want my lovely new stainless steel sink getting all scratched. It’s not that hard to spray the bottom of the bowl to get rid of any grimness.

The Devils double, no idea how factual, if at all. Few gory moments, plays on stereotypes, but watchable enough.

I spent all my childhood holidays in Oban during the “Glasgow Fair”, the caravan site at Ganavan sands is now a load of posh houses.

Take a drive up to McCaigs tower (pretty steep walk), nice view of the town.

There are a few very central hotels, the Caledonian (poor parking if i remember rightly) its near the ferry terminal and the Royal Hotel, no idea if they are any good though. There are plenty of B&B’s along the sea front. Have a good trip.

i got the 3g version as a present and use it, not just for downloading books, for browsing on here, checking email etc

Handy when you go away with work and forget your phone charger………like i did.

As a reader both are good. The non 3g one is cheaper.

Carron valley has always felt like a wip, the trail guys were doing a great job up until the dispute. I’m not sure how that ended.

I always tacked on a lap of the reservoir after doing a circuit.

No issue with the charge if it helps maintain the development.

Not been in a while due to a roadie obsession taking over from mtb. is the hotel/pub still open?

sorry to hear about your loss.

we had a traditional wake for my dad, where the body came back to our house. It wasn’t creepy or upsetting, he looked asleep if anything.

wishing you all the best at this time.

i use 3g watchdog for my android. seems to work quite well, you can set it to cut off all data at a certain point. Mine warns me at 75% and cuts off at 99%.

ive only being using mine since christmas, got a keyboard and 3g (which as many folk will tell you is unecessary, but i like it and use it).

searching with the keyboard seems a lot simpler and easier. Its doenst make the unit that much bigger and i think it gives a better area to hold it.

edit: just read post above, so it really does depend!!

Ann-Marie, the marie bit isnt a middle name.
Kinda used to it now, i wouldn’t pick it, i like the sentiment behind it, name off each gran. The extended family already had a marie-anne.
I have a surname i have to spell out for everyone, so i end up spelling the lot. only 15 letters….

It’s one of those names that allows some people in the west of scotland to make loads of assumptions.

Rarely get called Ann, get anne-marie a lot in emails, will answer to marie-ann because i know what you mean. My mates called me AM. My mum uses whatever name comes to mind, my brothers, my sis in laws……
Abroad i am Anna-Maria, that seems to be more understandable in my accent.

if i get to do the picking i’d like to choose a gaelic name, or least use the gaelic spelling.

—Ikea recently redesigned their Billy bookcase with deeper shelves, because people weren’t actually putting books onto them anymore.—

its a couple of billys i have, oh is called billy as well. how many billys do you need. 3!

—-Kindle has a ‘status bar’ on the bottom of every page—

now thats handy. i think im going to like my kindle! i hope the billy above preloads it with Red Dog!

I’ll be keeping my books, otherwise my bookshelves will look a bit daft.

I’m getting a kindle for christmas, so we will see. I like the idea of not lugging about a massive tome, currently reading Magician. It’s a bit wordy even in paperback.

I do like being able to look and see how much progress im making by seeing where my bookmark is (currently using an old tax disc for the job), not sure how you quickly do that with a ereader.
