Next time the security services don’t catch 9 people intent on blowing up transatlantic planes we can all give thanks for the likes of the Guardian and Julian Assange exposing the inner workings of how intelligence is gathered and putting the lives of those that work in an admittedly grey area at risk.

Personally I couldn’t care less if my emails are read and Skype calls are intercepted – the small likelihood of someone looking at my web browsing history of the niner and stw websites or reading order emails from merlin cycles seems like a fair deal if it means that those who would do my friends and family harm are identified and dealt with.

but the only people we have caught are the ones that screwed up in some way, bomb didn’t go off etc.
no-one has been caught through this mass data trawl do you really think anyone plotting anything is really on single-terrorist-world chatting about “what bomb for 747’s”

you may not be bothered about people intercepting your mail etc but where does it stop – excuse me mr 5mins can we come round and check you are not a terrorist when you are not home but if you are at home you won’t mind us looking up your families bums as well because after all if you have nothing to hide….

So anyway, turns out that David Miranda was carrying “several thousand” classified documents when he was detained at Heathrow on Sunday – it appears that his detention was a pretty fair cop – the only question for me is why they let him go.

ah yes the doc’s that prove illegal, unethical and immoral activities carried out by the government. best to keep quiet about that eh.

very orwellian to use the terror laws to terrorise the populace.

if there was a threat to national security in some far fetched plot that a real terrorist could have got hands on classified material why did they wait till he was in one of the most secure places possible before intervening.

there is due process to be followed, this law allowed them to side step that. a clear abuse.

if you have nothing to hide you have nothing to worry about.
if you tell the world about what we hide you and anyone you know should be very worried.

utterly tragic for the girl and family but in no way should these sites take the blame as long as they do something about it once reported/complaint is made. and what would you like to see happen to the perp’s remembering they are probably teenage girls themselves??
at the end of the day no-one is forced to visit these sites.

the reason these sites are so popular is because they are largely adult free so the kids get to say what they want without much chance of mum and dad finding out they are talking about cider/sex whatever with their friends.

this knee jerk reaction has went the way of banning buses cos someone wrote summit bad on a bus stop.

Could be the demise of a few other nearby shops….

wouldn’t like to see anyone going out of business but the other shops in the city centre are not somewhere i’ll spend my cash.

lots of the older style truvativ (hussfelt-holzfeller) cranks should fit the bb no prob, got a brand new 32-22 set off ebay for £60. £20 for an e-type mech and used an old shifter. job done in less than an hour.

my fatty has coped well with all conditions but the granny ring has helped me get to even more places.

a 1*10 fat bike is like having a bmw x5 (other soft roaders are available) , it will get you more places than a normal car but is not the same as a proper 4*4 with low ratio gearbox and locking diffs. more for posing really 😉

could get my 1*10 fatty up most things but with the granny the things it will climb and the goo you can cycle through is astonishing, surely part of the point imho.
i’ll keep any chelsea tractor comparisons to myself 😉

Love mine but it would have helped to have someway to easily stick a front mech on. Other niggles are component choices but that’s another thing. £500 for rolling chassis seems very good.

the only thing i have read about sweeteners (aspartame) that i have seen some slight evidence to back it up is that they can decrease the uptake of phophorous in your body leading to slightly weaker bone structure over time.

i’m sure your body doesn’t “count” drinks as calories, thats why its easy to get fat drinking mucho alcohol/sugary drinks. welcome to be proven wrong on that though.

read once that diet drinks have much more caffeine than the sugary ones and that is why they are more addictive and people end up drinking tons of the crap (me included)
