loads of cheap stuff… I wear their jackets and fleeces and they last well and seem well made. Some jackets for 15 and some fleeces for under 10.

not sure I’d recommend their boots though. You can get loads of good quality barely worn walking boots of ebay. I got a pair of blacks boots for about 15 on ebay. As you can tell I like saving my pennies.

As has been said I think with flats going down, getting your toes over the front of the pedal helps with grip.

OP this might help you see things a little differently although I understand your persepective. Small minded people often maker larger ripples and so may colour your perspective on society as a whole. Both of these articles are on the evolution of altruism in humans, more recent research has shown that groups with greater altruism often win out in the long game of evolution:

Personally, I think that the lack of networking tools on a forum mean it is not ‘Social Media’ in the web 2.0 sense. I would say ‘internet community’ is a truer definition for a forum. I would personally say broadcasting is a fundamental aspect of social media, and why the term media is used. Forums are more discussion based, and why I would use the word community. This fundamentally makes forums a much healthier and productive environment, another reason i would say they are disctinct from social media. Social media is essentially ego based and hierachy driven. By experience on forums, exceptions aside, they are much less about the individual. I am often astonished by the depth and breadth of conversation on this forum. It is a very often a very heart warming place. I think the west coast hippies who embarked on defining he internet would see a marked difference between the two ideas.

I have read and seen that SJ4000 doesnt have good light to dark transition (kind of essential for mountain biking).

    http://www.techmoan.com/blog/2014/11/16/gopro-hero-budget-camera-vs-the-sj4000-review.html

So I went for a second hand gopro 2. The problem with the entry gopro is that if the casing snaps your buggered. I think the a new entry gopro is not any better than a gopro 2 (in fact i think it is lower spec). I got a gopro 2 in very good condition with lots of mounts and a sea casing and lcd back for 100 on gumtreee. I found gumtree cheaper for gopros than ebay.

Get one you wont regret it… great fun… even though i have the lcd back i never use it, its of no real use for mountain biking.

Buy second hand so never test, I do read reviews though. Not perfect but it helps not to by a dud.

OP, I’m struck dumb, I have exaclty the same experience. I have put it down to the fact that she just lives in the moment and immediate needs rather than thinking ahead. IE im hot all windows open, im cold heating up. My worry sometimes she thinks that the world is experiencing things the same as her. IE she has been running around the house doing stuff, is hot and goes out in just a jumper, but only dresses the kids in jumpers too when its freezing outside. Not realising they havent warmed up the same as her. Then ten minutes later she is cold, so are the kids, and no one has jackets.

Along with but seperate from? He said the ‘current reality of capitalism’. He does not say any form of capitalism. There are lots of different ways to have a capitalist economic model exist within society. It should be a tool for society not how society models itself. To adhere to a capitalist ideology without reference to its injustices is inhuman. This isn’t to say people who believe capitalism in one form or another are inhuman. But there is no justification for the level of inequality in the world and in this country. A self perpetuating inequality. To think that humans HAVE to live like this is just nonsense and defeatist. As for the rule of law it is heavily imbalanced in favour of the elite. The police force were not created to protect the poor. To be honest I have no envy of people with extreme wealth. But I do have a probem when other people have to live in relative poverty. I am luckily not one of those people. But to think you deserve that much more than another human being by right or have somehow earned it, seems egotistical at best.I often wonder why some people just want more and more. I think they must quite seriously have something lacking in themselves. I don’t mean that as a veiled insult, I think it must be true. Its ungracious and uncivilised.

Newsnight on i player. The Guardian not a TV channel but very well worth reading online. Al Jazeera? Really? Isn’t it as bad as RT? I must admit I haven’t watched it so maybe I should. Is it not massively anti-western? Wasn’t it in support of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt?

I use ebay, gumtree and Autotrader. You will be surprised what you can get for 1000. I normally purchase around that mark and havent come off too badly. I ask for reg number and V5 cert number before I visit. That way you can check them out on the .gov site https://www.gov.uk/check-mot-history . You can see past mot’s so get some idea of condition, location, history. I always do a full online check if I am semi serious http://www.rac.co.uk/buying-a-car/rac-car-data-check . I always go by the seller as much as the vehicle.

Mounty as you can tell you have let the Genie out of the bottle. I think hammock campers just trawl forums waiting for a chance to talk about their dirty habit. If you want a journey in to the world of HC, go to youtube, and type hammock camping! A whole world will unfold before you. Years worth of video footage. I am not even a HC, but i got sucked in by the videos and watched them for hours. check this fella out:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CTuGJgka1qc (he is actually pretty funny, a real character, he seems to be a particular species, the below zero HC)

Just be aware once you cross over theres no coming back. Once your one of them they wont let you go. I just observe, though they may have me in their grips one day!?!?!?!

I would highly recommend counselling or getting some kind of help. The link someone posted above looks good. Even go and see your GP he/she might know of local networks. You don’t have to do it on your own and someone elses perspective can be the reality check you need and the confirmation you need. You will be surprised at how little you will be judged and how much you will be supported, as seen on this forum. Good luck. I have had some experience (psychological) and talking therapies really worked for me.

Isn’t the problem all pervasive ideologies? Democracy IMO should be the foundation on which we build a multifunctioning system. Unregulated Capitalism cannot be argued for if you have a single moral bone in your body. But then communism is equally as bad as it concentrates power and decision making. In fact both systems seem to mimic each other once they are followed to their extremes. Both control the media, communism by force, capitalism by wealth (and bribing politicians see Murdoch). We soon wont have a truly free press in this country if the Tories have their way. Deregulation only favours the rich. Democratic, socialist societies with regulated capital based economy seems a fair solution. You always seem to get idealogues spoiling the balance. My greatest fear is the completely distorted and F****D up leviathan in the shape of China. Communist control with capitalist inequality. We will all be happy when they rule the world? Russia too…

My father in law had this and had very good specialist treatment at the Royal Marsden (referred by GP, I think it was Marsden will check). They used golden seed radiotherapy:

    http://www.guysandstthomas.nhs.uk/resources/patient-information/cancer/radiotherapy/gold-seed-marker-insertion.pdf

It is much more accurate than older therapies. He seems to be in full remission.
