4 and 6, still have one, bedroom is quite a distance away. tribes sleep with their kids in the same room so I don’t see a problem. It’s not a conscious decision to keep it, just never thought of moving it, but then our kids don’t really bother us in the night.

Archie Bronson outfit, about 2007, not sure if it was just a dodgy pa but the sound was awful, especially considering the album derdang derdang was so so good, still one of my favourite albums of all time despite the live gig…

Ford fusion, basically a fiesta I think, with different exterior and interior.

Zaha Hadid studied mathematics and you could argue her designs are very sculptural, so it is surprising she doesnt have at least some art background. I studied Fine Art and would have argued for it as a discipline. But you can go to life classes outside of lesson time, obviously at an older age, and study form. I would say excluding art would not be a problem. Computing is also becoming increasingly important within the design world and not just using software.

OP have you tried seeing a counsellor yourself? Getting an independent and non invested/judgemental view may help you discover the best route? Its worth exploring.

I feel very sorry to hear of your news, as has been repeated, not using the sleep analogy is the first rule. I think holding off may be a good idea too, this will be very difficult for you, I have no doubt. Hold off at least until you have professional advice as others have said. I had similar news with my father a couple of years ago. It’s very hard to stay strong, very very hard, I found my love was a strength rather than a weakness… I wish you well…

I would also say neoliberal capitalism is handing it to Putin on a plate. Western populations are quite rightly questioning the direction the ship is sailing in. Putin is manipulating this. Obviously his direction is even worse, but he doesn’t need to convince us it isn’t, he just needs to collapse our other options.

A child minder would charge per child for the full two hours. Here that would be 5-6 pH per child.

I think Mr Putin is a genuine threat to the west, the only real question is, is the west on the right side of history. Personally I think narrowly yes. But I could be wrong. Whether the exact accusations are true is debatable. But personally I think Mr Putin is very much engaged in undermining western Europe. He wants to see Russia strong again, he wants back the states that moved westward. He is very clearly using contradicting diplomacy in order to confuse the western population, he is playing the media. Which is much easier when you are not truly democratically elected.

Grunty I really dont think there is any need for that tone at all. It seems a bit much, when I was merely saying it it is worth considering other options. In fact I made it very clear at the beginning of my point that they do have their place. You’ll find other people in the thread discussing the same thing not just me. I have seen evidence of people prescribed drugs when this is not always the best option. Again to be clear, for many people it can be a good option.

I would say, from a very novice view point, although my wife is a therapist, I have had therapy and I have known other therapists, that your wifes strength could be her Achilles heel at this moment. Again, I very much realise that could be a rush to judgment. Her strength is admirable, it really is, but I think she might need to be a bit kinder to herself, just at this moment. Whilst she gets her spirit back, which I am sure she will.

I would also say try to stay away from the drugs, I am not denying they work or that they are useful for some. My worry is once you are on them it is very difficult to get off of them. Also, as has been said, mental health/illness is, or at least should be, no more shaming than a physical illness and we really need, as a culture, to start seeing them as one and the same. The brain is an organ like any other part of the body and things can go wrong or get puched to the limit. I think we too often separate our conscious with the organ that creates it and the body that organ is connected to. To think that some how not being able to cope when you have loaded yourself with too much is a weakness is wrong. I think like our bodies our brains can only take so much.

Also, OP I really applaud you for discussing it. Although I wish these things didn’t need that kind of recognition and it was a normal thing to discuss.

I very openly discuss, my recent occurrences of panic attacks and clinical anxiety. Which I think is due to work. I often find the moment I mention it one or two other people are having similar experiences. Its not that uncommon.

I hope you and your wife find a good way to help treat the problem. I think some form of counselling would be useful as a start.

Shortening the term is the right one… Over payments to reduce monthly payment is more expensive in the long term.

trail rat point taken on the 10 year… didnt think about first time buyer regarding rates. It’s probably all a much of a muchness at the moment regarding 2, 5, 10year mortagages and their benefits. The market being so volatile. Could be in stagnation for years. Could still be low rates in 5 years time.

doosuk, I am suggesting he uses the over payments to reduce the term, or go for shorter term and save the difference. Both would mean some security held back. I am not suggesting making over payment to reduce the monthly cost. As Martin Lewis says, if you dont know the difference when making over payments, banks will often reduce the monthly charge and keep the term the same.

alexxx I completely understand on the 5 year, Given the option I will tend to go for security. Is 10 year not an option for you? The halifax 10 year has no ERC’s after 5 years.

I recently took out a 10 year deal. I am not sure of the benefits of a 5 in the current economic climate. With the world economy on the brink of another correction, I can’t see interest rates rising much for the next five years. would try to either save money with a 2 year at a lower rate, or go for longer.

When you over pay you can choose how that over payment affects your mortgage, it can either reduce the monthly cost, or reduce the term, so you could start with a longer term and reduce the term with the over payments. Another option is go for the shorter term and save the over payments for security. Put them in to Santander or something with a half decent return.

OP I would say your going to get a very one sided view from the STW demographic. If this is the demographic of your buyers then I would say you are going to struggle if they find out.

I nearly didn’t buy my current property as it only had 2mbps. But it was such a good deal I had to. Luckily we now have fibre.

I would say BT are very bad at helping with these issues. Are there any local broadband groups set up in your area? They might be able to help with your problem? My village had a broadband protest group.

I think 5 is about the right age, many pro’s start around that age or younger… I dont think racing starts till 8. I think it depends on the child though. I think it is about being the right age for the child.

I would suggest reading up on kidney belts as it is a debate. Many think they are simply hang over from the days when motocross bikes were pretty primitive in terms of suspension. It is to do with constant hits through your body over bumps at high speed. Modern suspension should tune this out.

One story, my cousin used to come to races with me and my dad when I was a kid of about 14. He was late 20’s and really enjoyed watching. Decided to get a bike to have a go for fun and maybe race. He bought all the new kit and new bike, he tried following me around the track and within about 200 yds, hitting some whoops, he was thrown in to the face of one and broke his arm reaching out to stop himself. He sold all the kit the next week.

That’s not to put a dampener on things at all. That’s to say, you will love it if you take it slow at first and build up to speed.

your local racing club may have a sales board for old kit? or uk based motocross websites classifieds

I haven’t raced since I was a kid, but one thing I would say is take it very slowly at first. Getting whipped off a motocross bike is very different to getting thrown off a mountain bike. Things can get broken very quickly. Might be wise to go on a skills course. I don’t know where to buy kit other than ebay and http://shop.1stmx.co.uk/ which are a big retailer. But a neck brace isn’t a bad idea. Obviously a good pair of boots and motocross pants, id go for armour as a beginner. Knee brace is also a good idea. Especially good to stop you leg getting torn if it gets caught up in a corner, when your leading with it. though as a kid in the 80’s I never wore a neck brace or knee brace, but did wear body armour. (left out lid etc as that is pretty obvious)

I would suggest you try to find a campsite near a train station, in a town, that comes out of Paris. Whilst as others have said this may be hard to find, it may not be impossible.

I could suggest one on the outskirts of Barcelona, but a) you dont want to go there and b) the normal clientele are normally up till 3 in the morning drinking and smoking joints. It is right next to the beach though…

    I always use this…

    https://www.gov.uk/check-mot-history

Only need the reg and make. Do it even (or more so) for cars from dealers. Personally I trust private more than dealers. People often take cars to dealers that are on last legs.

The check helps you see things that have been spotted on past MOTS and gives you at least some idea of the condition of the vehicle. Some often flag up oil leaks that are not a fail, but good to know about.

well done, building is almost as good as riding… (i cant believe I said that :$, i mean its good, but not that good) let me rephrase, building feels very good indeed! and what fudge9202 says… very addictive… I am on about my 6th & 7th (simultaneous) build as we speak… I almost dont want to finish. I know it will be a while before it happens again 🙁

i kind of half thought as much… but then thought why dont they just do that to normal steel springs, but then realised the smaller gap in between coils means they need more coils in order to take up the compression. So yes it does make sense that it is shorter… I just wanted to check first.

    So cheers for the sense!

thisisnotaspoon, but what about Fox News? Isn’t that very popular?

She was there doing her job, he was there doing his job, if it happened in a boardroom with other people present it could be seen as offensive. She is trying to be professional and come across as such. Her work environment could be littered with casual sexism (many work environments are), so for it to appear in some form in public could be seen as unwanted and offensive. It could undermine her role as a professional journalist. Would it be ok for a male repoter to do the same in public to a female sports star? No, because she deserves respect. The power role is easier to see if reversed. It’s not about asking someone on a date, if he had really wanted to he could have done that quietly after the questioning.
