If you're going to go best time is winter with fresh snow and not many people around, you can almost hear the anguish. Bleak is an understatement but it certainly puts everything in perspective.

At their current age I reckon the longer you lock them up the worse they will be when they get out.

Love em, started off with a squeezebox 1 before replacing with 2 sb 2's, built a mini server using this excellent guide. Nearly lost my girlfriend with countless experiments ripping cd's and tinkering with the bloody things though. Very good user community.

For a reliable signal you could always use network power plugs and wire the squeezebox using ethernet ?

My dad's got psp, has a slow lingering brain destroying death to look forward to, never really knew him due to various reasons plus he's worked abroad all his life…don't have much chance now but trying best to be there for him, would offer one line of advice to those in their 20/30's who feel they don't know their dad – just keep trying and don't let the past rule your future.

Autoelec we don't really know a lot about your life but make sure if you commit you're doing it for the right reasons, if you haven't felt like doing it in past why do it now ? It's got to be mutual & almost natural.

Heard a line in film/book once, "what do you couples do after they run out of things to say to each other — they get married", I know that's incredibly negative but whatever you do don't rush into any commitment & take time to reflect. A little time out now is not going to harm anyone in long run if she's the one for you…best of luck mate.

Hi coatesy, presumed it was 68mm but just checked and it's 73mm, that might explain why I can't get the cap to screw on!

    Cheers 😉

Saw this in a previous thread….

    ht2 service

Could I ask your advice ? I've just fitted a new ht2 bb/slx cranks to a genesis altitude frame, I wasn't able to screw in the plastic cap as it's about a mm off from the axle thread, any ideas ?

Apart from this I tightened the crank, when I spin them they feel slightly stiff, is this normal ? Guess I'm not doing this right !!

    cheers

Off topic slightly, met a guy running up ditchling during this years London to Brighton, made me chuckle, climb was jam packed with riders pushing or riding, he was 60 odd and over-taking everyone including me!

I think what bugs me is the spin on this to highlight NHS rules around handing out new livers. What went wrong in 9 long years, is it really as simple as portrayed ??

“These rules are really unfair. I'm not saying you should give a transplant to someone who is in and out of hospital all the time and keeps damaging themselves, but just for people like Gary, who made a mistake and never got a second chance.

“It never occurred to him what would happen. He was just a sweet, normal boy with a heart of gold, who never hurt anyone. And now he's gone."

He's obviously been failed by the authorities at every level of his life

    including his parent.

yep use enterprise here in Southampton, excellent weekend rates plus an annual insurance cover costs around 55 quid so if you hire enough it pays for itself in no time.

teacake, it’s a **** horrible feeling, take it easy. Be careful as they’ll more than likely be back when they think your insurance replacements have arrived.

I’ve family in the force and I can appreciate the s**t they go through, unfortunately shed/garage crime is way down their list — not saying its right.

hopster, prints for shed/garage break-ins are very hard to find unless they have used something shiny/metallic I believe.

yeah anti vandal paint could be do-able.

Don’t have leccy down there for CCTV but thinking longer-term this may be a good option to at least give the police something to go on. Cheers.

yes agree shed aint the best place, with a 1 bedroom flat it’s the only option at the moment, apart from giving up riding or shifting the g/f out to the shed…..mmmmm

thanks for the all ideas…will keep you posted.

Yes ilke the idea of very thick chicken wire over the roof, bent over the sides and secured to edges plus reinforcing from inside, razor wire might hurt the feckers, bless em.

Cheers, good idea, will have a look into that Brant.

Did think of camping out last night(!) Paranoia set in this morning, slept with the window open and woke up 6am in a mild panic.

Can’t believe they did it in broad daylight, guess they thought most people were visiting family on easter sunday.

Fair point, haven’t much riding in recent months plus have a desk job that doesn’t help. Tempted to get fitted properly by a professional – plus another good excuse to buy new bits/frame!

Can be ‘ok’ for a quick spin, mostly waymarked fireroads which can be a blessing as a lot boggy areas even in the summer, some nice pubs around as well.

Had a slow run with 3.47 mainly due to total lack of fitness, think it would have been closer to 5hrs if it wasn’t for the road sections! When it did finally thaw out a bit the mud stuck to tires like glue, nice. Lost 2 mates on the first hill climb out of the event but managed to catch one up just as morale was suffering – great start to 09, can only get better.
