Think if it was any more technical you would have some serious crashes, organisers have to take into account rider fatigue at 3am and a extreme variety of ability. Surely with most 24hr courses there is always this fine balance to get right.

same happened to me, ended up grinding a hole with a screwdriver then used a pliars to pull it out, not elegant and took a while.

Hi epicyclo, I was on the green genesis solo’ing. You did very well to get that beast round the course !

Support from other riders and pit crews was first class. Moon lit course and mainly dry made it very enjoyable and challeging enough to keep you alert. Loved the music at top of the fire road climb. Came 14th after caving in after 4th flat, no pad change and cleaned and re-oiled chain every lap, will be back next year !

Have signed up for the solo, 1st and last time I hope. Bit of an odd question but what’s the parking like ? Not got a 4wd just a hatchback.

My brother’s a copper, a good one at that. Am surprised he and his colleagues keep a level head when you hear of the scum they deal with day in day out. The type of scum you wouldn’t want to meet once in a lifetime, the type of people that would happily see you dead. Yes they are paid & trained for it but once in a while they might show cracks.

Recommend getting a Zagg screen protector, bit pricey but worth it if applied properly. Needs to go over the gap between the screen and edge, this is the weak point of the 800, with my first 800 I tried to remove some grit that got in the gap only to crack the screen – albit only a tiny crack but enought to get a replacement under warranty.

Good luck with the Newforce lot, I’ve found them difficult to contact, hard to engage and basically up their own ar*e when it comes to sharing info on rides etc.

Think you need to come along for a ride with us, internet is a crap way for communicating sometimes isn;’t ? , am sure if you met any NFer’s in person you’d be welcomed along for a spin wtf not ? the clubs so far not up it’s own arse it’s detached…

Had a good time with them back in the day (in my 20’s), remember the guide snapped his seat post but still managed the rest of the ride…bit chaotic but worked out ok, perhaps this is more spanish style. Kind of liked it back then.

Being a novice enduro rider for several years I still find the bulid up fantastic with training but then post event I feel deflated and riding efforts drops for a good 2-3 weeks. Anybody else get this ?

Got a Zagg on mine, bit more expensive but good quality, cut mine to fit over the glass edge.

Yeah coming a pain to have to keep visiting the delivery office for something so small (plus for someone reason Southampton Shirley seem to mislay them easily ??), think I’ll have to start paying a few extra quid and support the lbs.

Guess from a shipping/storage/transit point of view it’s easier to have several hundred boxes that stack and can fork lift easily etc… than several thousand odd shaped jiffy parcels…

Know how you feel, I find sometimes it helps to book something in the near future that means you need to commit to doing with friends. That way you’re less likely to find excuses.

Recommend going for a nice walk in the country/pub etc can brighten up a dull day. Having a break from exercise ain’t a bad thing. Also might be worth trying something different exercise wise for a change ?
